That is a very wrong statement. Being a fanboy does not equal oposing something. I am sure you have something you oppose to in our lives, but does that mean you are a fanboy?

Being a fanboy means that you just hate on something without any reason.
If you have a good enough reason, than you are just not a supporter, and you may well be an opposer, but you are in no way whet-so-ever a fanboy.

Not really true in this context.. It's not like FM3 is being forced upon you and you are opposing it..

To oppose you must act against it, and I would say that being motivated to do this makes you a Fanboy as there is absolutely no reason to do this. If you don't like a game, that's fine, concentrate on the game you do like. To go out of your way to keep criticising the other game by only looking at it's weakest attributes (whether actually of any real worth or not) is being unreasonable IMO.

It is very true in every context. I will bet whatever you want that not everything that you oppose in life is forced upon you. I don't have to act against something I oppose, because not everything I oppose is on the same level of "wrong" as something else.

I don't hate forza or T10. To hate something you need to know it. I don't know them, I just don't like their ways. Am I allowed to think that way? Or am I being childish? I want to show the same kind of loyalty that I show my friends to everything I dim worth it. I think ideals loose their essence if you have different degrees to the same ideals. It goes both ways ofcourse, but in this case I think I can survive not playing one game.

Plus, I am not going to drop cash on a console for just 1 game (same as I am not going to buy a psp for GTPSP now).

Oh Ideals, how they ruin the world...

I think it's the terminology that is at fault here..

To support a game/friends etc is perfectly fine, and totally expected.

To oppose a game sounds like you have an irrational view towards it and therefore I'd question the validity of any opinion.

With your analogy of being loyal/supporting your friends, that sounds good, but to then oppose anyone that isn't a friend implies something different..

when GT5 is released no one will remember forza 3 anymore. :indiff:

people should be lauding sony for this move. Think about it. Sony is always assumed to be arrogant, cocky and unyielding. Now they demonstrate that they too have a nice side. After prologue outselling forza 2 on a smaller install base sony decides to give forza 3 a head start to spare turn 10 some embarrasement. you know as a gesture of goodwill. :sly::sly:

Right .

GT5 will probably do quite well among it's current fans but I think it will have a rough time trying to gain new ones. This delay is really hurting it to, especially since it's not going to be an Xmas release, which would probably pull big numbers for the game and help sell PS3's.

Even then I wonder how many fans of the series will stick with it or if they'll get bored of waiting for it? Personally I'm at the level where I no longer really care about the game since it's been such a long time coming. I'll get it when it comes out for sure, but I'm not going to let it stop me from buying and playing other games for now. Reading posts around here is seems like a lot of fans are upset with the delays, and GTP is a pretty good judge of GT fans in all their glory.

I have Shift right now, which is decent, and Forza 3 will be out in a couple of weeks and judging from the demo it should be epic. However playing and liking these games doesn't make me any less of a GT fan.

I didnt read much of the banter in here.. but all I got to say is that the 1st time I ever played anything Forza was the F3 demo. It was ok. Nothing earth shattering, I thought the graphics werent very sharp and looked a little cartoony. (ex, background mountains didnt look real as they do in GT.) Then I did some digging in my game collection and realized I had Forza 2, but never played it. Pop it in, and really ended up enjoying it. It felt like a Gt4 baby brother but the gameplay wasnt to bad, worse thing I found in F2 was an awful menu system.

All in all, Forza 3 will be a great place holder until GT5 comes out. It wont replace my love for the GT series, but its definitely worth wild game to play while I wait.

Wrong.
If it was a fanboy orientated forum why is there a whole topic regarding Forza 3 and a whole section dedicated to NFS: Shift?
There's a GT & NFS section at Forzacentral.com. That doesn't mean I don't have to deal with the stupid fanboy comments there, either.

Got my 250GB Forza 3 bundle all pre-ordered. All you losers saying that you will never buy an Xbox 360, even if your life depended on it...whatever You go twiddle your thumbs for the next 6 - 9 months.

Not to be too far off topic here, but you might want to reconsider, I think there is a $50 rebate on elites right now, so it might end up being less...

You can have a rushed for the Holiday season Forza 3 now

Or wait for the delayed but perfected GT5

Would people stop saying that GT5 has been delayed? It never had a release date before, so it has not been delayed. God damn.

What is wrong to say GT5 is delayed... even PD never gave specific release-date, we can easily say PD has some major problems with their developing or/and priorities with this game. Why the hell they did not release GT5 to X-mas with, lets say 600 cars, and then add rest of content due DLC for free!?

Yamauchi said in some interview that 'they can release it whenever they want', 'right after PSP-GT's release', 'in fourth quarter of 2009'.

Those hints dont match to release-date March 2010... so practically GT5 is delayed, and once again Polyphony Digital gave big dissappointment to it's loyal fans!

Fact: There is no brain to release it in March, when summer is just coming, if you could release it in X-mas! Microsoft and Turn10 must be celebrating with big time this total K.O. :ill:

That F3 Enzo is HORRENDOUS. That said I'm sure F3 will be as good to 360 owners as GT5 will be for PS3 owners. The reason I chose to buy a PS3 over a 360 was because of many reasons including GT and will not will not spend another $300 for a console because of 1 game. I for one know the quality PD puts into their games and if I have to wait 1 or 10 years for a good game I will, anyway my life does not revolve around video games.

While it was never officially announced, it's not a big leap to read the writing on the wall. It was all BUT officially announced for a Q4 09 release and I think even right before GC PD was still going with that.

It has all the markings of being delayed to add stuff.

So technically, no official release date, but the spirit of it was almost certainly an 09 release date.

What I would like to see is people stop saying that we are waiting for perfection... we are almost certainly waiting for something better than what it is right now, but perfection is a big assumption (even in the generally understood and not literal meaning).

It's a really big assumption to go making especially considering what info we have and what we have seen transpire so far.

I don't know if I'm allowed to copy and paste whole articles here, so I'll just provide the link instead.

http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2009/09/27/forza-3-leaving-a-delayed-gt-5-in-the-pits/

WTH? I thought The SixthAxis was a PS3 fan site, but they write an article about GT 5 and spend their time gushing all over Forza, it's damage modeling, livery editor AI ect. They are practically telling GT fans to go buy a 360 and Forza 3.

Do you think an article like that has any place on a PS3 fan site?

Nah, I think they assume that racing sim fans are fans of, well, racing sims. If GT5 came on PC, PS3 or 360, a racing sim fan would buy it no matter what platform. Same goes for Forza 3. If it was on PC, PS3 or 360 doesn't matter. Us racing sim fans just want the games, and want to be able to play them, as well as read reviews and previews.

Try thinking outside the box. The majority of sim fans are not towing the corporate line for a console or specific game. They just like racing sims in general, regardless of the hardware. No allegiance is where the majority of us fall. Apparently the editors on that website also feel the same way.

Boom. Roasted.

Until you see the actual game play graphics

All of those articles go to waste on me

I would never ever ever ever ever buy an xbox. Never.
I used to think the EXACT same thing. Good thing I have an open mind because I cant believe how great the xbox and 360 have been. I simply cant keep up with all the great games on the 360 and all the content on xboxlive. I physically think its impossible to play everything on the 360. Believe me I have been trying for 3 years straight and just cant catch up. Plus once I started playing the Forza series I have never touched GT since. Well besides the month when I bought the PS3 and played GT5P. The Forza series has pretty much all the missing links from the GT series. Everything I have always wanted to be in GT is in Forza. Engine swaps, use any vinyls you want, tire marks, online play, sell or gift cars to friends, incredible customization, even shows the area where the tires wear so you know if you have too much or too little camber. Or if your tire pressure is too low.
Its just such a shame to see people that are so close minded.

I really don't understand the whole Forza vs GT argument. They're exclusive to different consoles so they're hardly in direct competition. It's not exactly a Fifa vs Pro Evo situation.

I know some people have an xbox and a PS3 but for the 90% of us who don't, it's hardly an issue.

There is huge merit to that my friend, and very well stated.

I think the majority of people that have a PS3 only will get and prefer GT5.

I think the majority of people that have an Xbox 360 only will get and prefer Forza 3.

I think the majority of people on this forum that have an Xbox 360 and PS3 will buy both titles because they are racing sim fans.

Listen to what you just said. "...being delayed to add stuff."

That seems to sum it all up right there. People complain that the game doesn't have specific features, so PD spends some extra time trying to put that feature into the game, then people complain that it's taking forever for the game to be released.

Add to that the fact that Kaz is such a detail oriented person, and it takes time to release a game of this magnitude.

People just need to chill out, because the wait will be worth it. 👍

If a developer releases a game with 600 cars then what is their incentive provide another 400 cars as Free DLC? Have developers done this successfully before? Sure, to an extent, but you're not going to be able to pay your designers for long if you offer EXTRA content for free.

I'd rather wait for a complete game then settle for DLC free or not. Updating sucks.

People just need to chill out, because the wait will be worth it. 👍

Agreed. 👍

Polyphony have already demonstrated their ability to add free/extra cars (around 20, right?) and tracks (1) to GT5 Prologue. Why can't they add additional cars and tracks to GT5 without charging extra? Wishful thinking maybe, but they've done it before :dopey:

I'll buy an Xbox 360 when I can use my nice G25 setup for use with all the Forza games, (fyi, no logitech wheels work on the 360 cause they want to force you to buy 'their' wheel. So in turn I refuse to buy their system - they lose :)). Until then, I refuse to buy their fisher price wireless steering wheel to have the batteries run out on me suddenly and I'd have to go buy more batteries....*sigh*

Um, the MS Wheels plugs into the wall like every other wheel out there. Its not really that bad of a wheel, smooth FFB, just lacks power in it.

So first you say to delayed is not the appropriate term, and then you agree with me it was delayed...

BTW I think people are unhappy about the delay because while PD is adding stuff people wanted, many people feel like they should have realized those things would be wanted sooner and had them in already. Kind of like going to a restaraunt, waiting an hour for your dinner and then the chef says "you want that steak COOKED? well that's gonna take another 20 minutes". Sure he is delaying it for something I want, but he shouldn't have needed to find that info out... I mean what was he doing back there for an hour already?

Good to hear, I figured since they wanted it to be wireless they'd make it completely wireless. If you have a cord for power, whats one more for USB hurt? O well. Maybe they will play nice when they come out with the XBox 720 or whatever they call it.

Cause they are doing those cars anyway... now when release is at March 2010, Sony/PD is taking huge hits when people are going to buy X-boxes and Forza3 in Christmas. Spring is also propably worst time to release game anyway... I aint going to sit in my closet behind wheel, when snow is melting away, and sun is again starting to warm. :indiff:

Many people will never come back from that Forza3 route. We have seen many reliable reviews, where it's been said that Forza3 may not be so bad than many HardCore-simracers thinks, and it really has many great features I think.

I'm very excited to see SRT's full review about Forza3, cause they were very amazed about it in E3... I hope it will be good. I'm so sick about PS3. I'm sure all comes from that fact, that it's crappy platform to make games. :grumpy:

So first you say to delayed is not the appropriate term, and then you agree with me it was delayed...

I don't think I worded that right, because I'm not agreeing with you.

It's more "speculation" to me than actual dates being thrown around.
