Forza 3: Leaving A Delayed GT 5 In The Pits

Its wireless to the 360. It can be fully wireless with batteries, but then you get no FFB and the chance on them dying. But I'm with you, MS needs to add Logitech support. Its odd that they work fine on the PC running off MS windows, but a basic windows game console (360) wont support them. If I remember correctly Logitech said they could do it on the 360, but MS denies them the rights or it will cost $50 to $100 more for them to be compatible.
Up sets me too, switching wheels from GT to Forza. And those Fanatic wheels are way to expensive.
So first you say to delayed is not the appropriate term, and then you agree with me it was delayed...

R1600 Turbo is running around on about 3 or 4 threads posting like mad trying to fend off all the people unhappy with KY and PD. Maybe he's getting confused tripping over his own lies.

What an extremely biased batch of cheap shots and low blows. I love (as in f:censored:ing hate) how one little delay gets everyone riled up. Now can there be truth in some of the comments? Yeah, sure. Everybody finds them.
Now as for the opening post (which I guess what "OP" means) is concerned, should something like this be on a PS3 fan site? I was going to say hell no, but with a little thinking, I'm going to say... maybe not. Here's my thing. I've been on GTPlanet since December 5, 2003. I've been around people who've been complaining to the high heavens and hating on PD for all these things. I know people are going to tell me to get my head out of my ass for saying this, but the fact is that if you're a REAL fan of the GT series, don't unwillingly attack it. If you're the fan of a sports team that does nothing but lose all the time, at least have faith that they'll make the postseason and maybe win it all. You don't just go around hating on something with the intent of thinking nothing will ever happen. The problem with most people is that they give up on things too quickly. Too quick to hate, too slow to love.
It's important to note this is an opinion site mentioning all of this. Because had this been something like IGNore or something, I'd want somebody fired or given a talking-to. Anything relevant that you COULD pick up from that site was that there's a release date, and they (as in Turn 10) stick to it. But how often do you see me cook up a firestorm about a release date? It's not the end of the world because a game maker needs another delay. I heard of delays for the very first or second Forza, and not one damn person complained. It's always got to be GT fans that get riled up at delays, like Gran Turismo is more important than living each day in a healthy way. Any bit of bad news for a GT game means it's a fail to most people. Then, there's THIS quote:
"Microsoft need to start the television adverts rolling and ensure that everyone without an XBOX 360 knows that GT won't be out for at least six months and that they should buy their game instead." -TheSixthAxis
So you know what this tells me? It's conceding defeat, calling something over before it already starts. It's a lack of patience. I've waited and anticipated seeing what Duke Nukem Forever would be like, but I gave up on that as the now-defunct 3D Realms will never create and finish this game conceived almost 12 years ago. To say "go buy an XBOX 360 to tide over the time for Gran Turismo 5" and be part of a PS3 fan site is just damned ludicrous. What a way to uphold the honor of being a PS3 site by recommending you go get ANOTHER system against a game's rival. That's like a Michigan Wolverines' football fan site recommending you cheer on Ohio State to win the National Championship.
Damned shame. I may blog about this with more of my own opinions.

Cause they are doing those cars anyway... now when release is at March 2010, Sony/PD is taking huge hits when people are going to buy X-boxes and Forza3 in Christmas. Spring is also propably worst time to release game anyway... I aint going to sit in my closet behind wheel, when snow is melting away, and sun is again starting to warm.
Many people will never come back from that Forza3 route. We have seen many reliable reviews, where it's been said that Forza3 may not be so bad than many HardCore-simracers thinks, and it really has many great features I think.
I'm very excited to see SRT's full review about Forza3, cause they were very amazed about it in E3... I hope it will be good. I'm so sick about PS3. I'm sure all comes from that fact, that it's crappy platform to make games.
What makes you think that they would work on cars after the game is finished? Just wondering.
It sucks that the release is not this winter but I'll just have to live with it. If I had an xbox then I'd get Forza but I don't have xbox. To me it's not a matter of either/or, I have to get gt5. Forza has not convinced me to spend $$$ on a new system.
I don't think that the ps3 is a crappy platform for games. I think that crappy games come from crappy developers.

Polyphony have already demonstrated their ability to add free/extra cars (around 20, right?) and tracks (1) to GT5 Prologue. Why can't they add additional cars and tracks to GT5 without charging extra? Wishful thinking maybe, but they've done it before
Because they charged us $40 for a demo. We deserved those cars to be free.
The Logitech DriveFX wheel works on the 360, though the MS Wheel is substantially better.
What does GTPSP have to do with Forza?

Well I would think it's kind of different for a member of a forum to say something negative vs the site itself (well it's staff or what have you) doing the same...
All this articles have no points.
GT5 will be the best looking racing game. If Polyphony won't rebuild physics from the scratch and left it as it was in GT5P, it will be around same simulator as my grandma is a street racer.

He makes some good points, but I'm not so sure that the delay will actually cause GT5 to lose sales. It may give Forza more, but I don't see them being at Sony's expense.

I don't think the author of the article said anything wrong aside from the fact that he called Prologue a demo, which it isn't. Except for that, he's completely right. He's not saying that Forza 3 will be better than anything PD could possibly come up with, he's simply saying that Microsoft had the head start, they delivered, and now the ball is in Sony's court. It's Sony's turn, and while I have no doubt that GT5 will surpass Forza 3, for the time being Turn 10 does have the...and I'm cringing as I'm saying this...definitive racing game of this generation

Unless you're blind, I said in my last post that I worded it wrong. So don't put f'n words in my mouth.
PD HAVE rebuild the physics, unless you haven't been reading either. And I'm sorry, having played all of the GT games, and both Forza games, I disagree on Forza being the best simulator to date. But, I guess that's just my opinion.

Why? They have no stock on Sony (as far as I know), they're not an official PS or GT source, and they have as much freedom of speech as you and I. Heck, they can turn tomorrow into an Xbox dedicated site (not that they were Sony exclusive to begin with), so I still don't get where the "does it belong" question comes from...

You don't recognize the difference between a fansite publishing a story that is anti what it is a fan of and a forum that allows all view points having a member that has a negative view of some aspect of a game?
A fansite is by definition a fan of something, a forum member is not necessarily a fan of whatever the forum promotes.
If you are just saying you don't recognize it as a Sony fansite, I didn't know that either, but it's been brought up that the name sixthaxis is very close to the PS3 controller name and they do feature PS3 items on the main page that they don't offer for 360.
This is a great news. Straighten car from deep spins by braking to the ground feels pretty weird for me

I am saying it seems you are interested in blaming others for your problems even if they were brought on by yourself.
You say I put words in your mouth when I did no such thing, in fact I did the exact opposite, I quoted you exactly, so it was you who put words in your mouth, yet you blame me.
You worry about rewind damaging GT when the only one who can use rewind to damage GT for you is you. What anyone else does with rewind doesn't effect you.

What problems? I don't see any problems.
I could care less if it's in the game, I won't use it.
The fact is, PD is not the kind of game developer to put something like rewind in their game. It just won't happen. Ever.
