No, haven't gotten my hands on the demo yet.

I just know that TVs like to mess with the image with a bunch of post-processing garbage which can really only serve to make a videogame's output look worse. I had to adjust my TV's settings just to make the majority of Forza 3's menus even visible. :P

If your TV has a "game mode" or anything like it, turn it on. It'll cut out a lot of the post-processing and also reduce the delay before the image is actually put on the screen. 👍

This is what I see

which is quite darker than

Did you try the demo? what is your experience with the cockpit lighting?

Im worried about the steering animation. Why does the "brighter" video have more steering animation than the "darker" one?

Top one looks like it's with a controller, bottom one is more than likely a wheel.

It could be my TV(I did increase the gamma correction on it). It's definitely not as dark as those in Pictureghost1 videos, that's extreme.

The whole lighting system seems far better in the E3 demo, You can clearly see the cars in front but on the lastest demo they look very dark and hard to make them out.

Reason 2nd video is brighter because its a offscreen video...level of contrast and brightness is higher in offscreen videos.....

Lets drop the speculation of why it is darker from people who haven't played it yet.

The Subaru has terrible interior lighting on the Alps track. In car the instrument panel is recessed into the dashboard so barely any light from the environment hits it. Period.

This is the only car in the demo that has this problem with lighting.

How do you explain the lighting on other cars in front? E3 demo it's perfect but the new demo it's all wrong and actually very similar to F3 in that the back of the cars are extremely dark? E3 the lighting looks as good as GT5.

Those of us who are playing FM4 have found the lighting to be excellent in all cars besides the Subaru. This game indeed sets the lighting bar for interiors.

I just find like F3 the back of the cars being very dark in a sunny day is wrong, it's perfect in the E3 demo but not the demo that's out now.

I personally didn't see a problem with the lighting in the backs of the cars. I'm running a 42" tv at 1080p and if I was sitting any closer I would go blind.

Next time you're driving (IRL) pull up behind a car and see if it looks like there is a spotlight in the headboard shining down on the seats. Evidently this is what you are expecting.

I am playing the FM4 demo right now and I am not able to reproduce your finding. The back of the cars are indeed bright and colorful, unless of course a shadow blocks it out (like the final turn of the 458 rival mode).

Could be your TV or possibly a failing Xbox?

Wtf are you on about? Spotlights on seats?????

No, the 2 videos posted quite clearly show what im talking about, at times the back of cars are extremely dark that would never happen on an extreme sunny day like the track is.

Pause the new demo vid at 2.33 the cars infront are almost black then when you go by those two cars the next car infront is almost black.

Yup, just not reproducing it. I am going by what is on the TV in front of me as we speak.

Odd i have a Pana Viera vt which is considered one of the the best TV on the market right now and it's very similar to the video posted. Can you take a vid of your tv/forza 4?

Checking GT5 again last night racing on a sunny day it just does not happen, Cars in the distance are never blackish like they are in F3 and F4.

Yeah, it's not happening here at all in FM4 demo. Not sure why it's different for you, but not for us. Cars in the distance are indeed not blackish in FM4, demo. I am glad too, cuz I noticed and hated that in FM3.

Try changing the color space setting in the xbox console settings(from the dashboard before you boot the game up) to standard, that has made everything much brighter for me. The Subaru interior cockpit is still dark though.

Yeah, I wonder what happened with the Scooby interior IP being so dark? Yet the rest of them are great.

How old is this build anyway? I assume a few months.

Man the environment in the demo looks so good it's almost a waste for a racing game. This should be in some RPG game. They look damn good.

Are these cars that loud in the cockpit in real life?

It sounds like the engine is in the passenger seat :/

You are one of the only one that feel what I feel, I know everybody loves FM sound, and it is good but the placement just doesn't seem right.
