All this McLaren F1 prize car talk...am I the only one that picked the classic F50? ;)

Most likely not, however my method (or rather my reasons) for picking the F1, as well as the others are simple: Pick the most expensive one out of the bunch as you can simply afford the rest easily (non-inclusive of the classics with the 330 P4, GT40, and Daytona Coupe, and the SLR Stirling Moss. I hate that thing it's butt-ugly).

I picked the F1 because it was part of my childhood. The car everyone talked about because it hit that magical 240MPH that nearly no car had hit before. Now it seems most hypercars have it that, so it makes things like the SSC Ultimate Aero, or Bugatti Veyron a little less special.

I did exactly this. When the spoiler level awards thread came out I was glad because I could easily choose the cars I'd be getting.

I have been picking Ferraris when I can just to work on that Ferrari achievement. I have never made a bunch of money in this game.

I'm certain prize cars are tuned because my gift Miata has a PI of 272 and all of the opponent's are at 271.

Which imo ruins the experience if I'm not getting a 'stock' experience and another hand-holding gesture from T10, like with all the credits.

Yeah, the gift cars come pre-tuned, close to the top of their class. If you don't like it, go to the tuning section, hit the start button and reset them to stock. Takes a grand total of ten seconds or so.

Gotta agree with TT3Az and Fuzzy on the supercars, though. I've got a few, but S class, let alone R3, are a bit outside my comfort zone. I can still win these races on the hardest difficulty (as with everything, aside from R1 and X), but I don't like driving these things a lot. I prefer C and B class, with the odd venture into A class.

reset them to stock doesn't work for me though. I like my S-class cars, they are often a compromise between power and handling and require special touch to drive fast.

Anyone else bought an RX8 and noticed it has the R3 headlights now, so when you choose the new bumpers it looks like one, but if you keep it with the Mazdaspeed bumpers it doesn't look like the one in FM3? The effort they've gone to, they may as well updated it to the 2010 R3 like how they updated the Neon to an ACR and the Maserati GranTurismo to a 4.7 S amongst others.

Guys, do you know when season pass expires from marketplace, cause I still didn't get my LCE copy :(, and I wouldn't want to miss this opportunity.

Good to know! I was going crazy thinking I had accidentally clicked through the "Automatically Upgrade Your Car" window while entering a career race, and wondering where all these random upgrades were coming from.

I remember someone on the other board explaining how one of the AI cars drafting yours can give you an advantage, but still don't understand how it affects your lap time.

Could someone explain it to me again please? Time trial mode's definitely the way to go if you want to avoid this happening though.

If you mean that the AI is slipstreaming behind you, it will give you an advantage also. The airflow doesn't stop after your car, it will continue, so it gives you both an advantage. My English aint that great so I hope you understand. The wind leaving the car is pushed downwards, back towards the car and up again. That is creating a 'sucking'-like something. (sorry). So when someone is driving behind you, that is happening to the car behind you, so it'll effect both.

I hope this works for you!

Kind of random. But does anyone else find it ironic that the game cover cars in GT5 and Forza 4 look bad? Like for instance, GT5 has the SLS AMG. In my opinion on the SLS in GT5, doesn't look modeled that well. On the other hand, in Forza 4 the SLS looks absolutely gorgeous. Then the Forza 4 standard cover is the 458 Italia, which doesn't look so good to me in the game, but then in GT5 it looks absolutely stunning.

Might just be me but I was really pondering it a few hours ago...

I love the auction house, just bought an R15 for 931,887(originally 2.5 million) and a DS3 for 2,260(originally 24,000).

I know both are prize cars but the R15 at least lets me get a different car when I get to that point.

Since my account is suspended for the moment (unauthorized access = :() I've only been playing the career. Sucks too because I simply loved the rivals mode when I had access to that, and I really wanted to buy cars and paint liveries in the Auction House. Coming from previous Forzas and always having LIVE Gold, I really noticed how much better having access to that community area is. Still, playing offline is a load of fun. Just got to driver level 23 and expert series in World Tour. The sounds in this game still amazes me to this day.
