Having destructible environments in a game like this kind of defeats the purpose. That scenery looks far too pretty to destroy.

It's pretty much required if you want true immersion though. Nothing sullied the experience in FH1 quite like invisible walls.

I do hope they bring back the handy feature in Photomode that let you reset your car's visual damage though - and maybe, if possible, the environment too - just for the sake of the picture. Having the option was nice 👍

It is holding something back, and I have seen it used to sucker people into paying full price for a cruddy game before the word can get out, though I would never name names. Oh wait, yes I would. EA. Slighly Mad Studios. Shift2 Unleashed. I blew $60 on that miserable game because I knew I'd buy it eventually and wanted to have the limited edition cars when I did. But even if the game turns out to be good, it's still a rather devious tactic, and I think there should be no such exculsive pre-order content - just cosmetic exclusives such as this.

Like @McLaren said, it's unsurprising you're living in the past here, but this entire rant is pointless for the one obvious fact: pre-orders are not in stone. You can cancel whenever you'd like.

I wonder if you could set up our own p2p races; or a Mille Miglia-type race. More options would be most welcome.

Have they confirmed if there will be traffic in the online free roam? Maybe I missed this in the videos.

I hope so, no online traffic is the reason I only ever player horizon MP once and no more.

There's no real distinction between the two, now. Whilst in single player, it's been reported when an online player joins your game, weather and traffic sync.
Sure hope the is a offline mode fullstop. That's what put me off from The Crew and Driveclub.

Excellent. Identical to TDU2. Sounding better and better every day.

I will have the X1 by the end of the year so I will plan on getting this. Was hoping for more cars but oh well. I am sure they will keep adding more.

Over 200 cars is more than the original forza 5 list, and compare it to driveclub or tdu's car lists....

I guess I am just spoiled by the almost 700 cars in Forza 4 and over 1,000 in GT6. I am sure I will still have a great time and as I said, they will probably keep adding more each month.

Gt's car list is fantastic, you cannot say otherwise. The problem is that the quality is inconsistent.

How can a car list be "meaningless"?

Without wanting to steer this into yet another versus thread, I'm assuming @Speedster911 meant GT's car list count is meaningless. A comment I'd readily make too.

As ever, quality > quantity.

Multi-screen support?

Seems like the scenery in FH2 would lend itself to three (or more) screens.

Here's hoping!!

Well the 360 version is being developed by a different dev studio, so there's hope at least for that version. I'm not too sure about the X1 version.

200 cars is probably enough to keep me entertained as long as they are good selections, I think Horzion had that many, TDU2 had around 110-120 or so.

They picked cars that realistically belong to the scene the game is trying to create. You're not going to see Group C LMPs or Priuses in a game like this.

I think it's safe to assume that the persistent online multiplayer, online Drivatars, and possibly online traffic cars will be exclusive to the XBone version of the game. I imagine the 360 version will function closer to the first game in that respect. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the 360 version lacks the superfluous Forzavista stuff. Basically, I expect none of what was just added to FM5.

I'm hoping weather will make it into both versions, but it's no deal-breaker for me, considering the circumstances. This game could be exactly like the first one with a change of scenery and I'd be thrilled.

Aw, I loved multiplayer rallycross. For all its free-roam street-ness, the closed circuits offered the best racing in Horizon.

200 cars is plenty. Even GT5 shipped with around 200 Premiums.
Which ended up being one of the top complaints since it was launched. But that's really for an entirely different thread. ;)

That's another good point.

Just pre ordered the game

My little rant,

I'm a huge fan of the GTseries from polyphony. I die hard fan. I drove the Forza, didn't enjoy the physics and feel of the road, but I couldn't ignore the innovations and car candy they were doing at the time. GT is supposed to be for car nuts like myself and you can't even let me walk around my car (without photo mode) and open the doors? an award car or a new purchase comes straigth at you of the dark so you can't see the car at all basically? Terrible ailising to boot. Now you have horizon and horizon 2... that is real innovation, you have the track guys great, but we have all these awesome assets lets use them, the birth of horizon comes. Forza is thinking and innovating while I watch my beloved GT continue down the path of ZERO innovation. I'm still hooked on the driving feel of GT but waiting 5 years between releases only to get GT5 and GT6 which are arguable no better than GT4. It is difficult to keep holding out. It might be fair to say that I am loyal to Playstation 90% due to the GT franchise knowing it is only available on PS. But I digress, I would be so happy to see GT series start to implement some of the ideas Forza has and maintain that beautiful handling engine (NOT the sound engine!! haha) Sorry for ranting. Had to do it.

So FamilyGamerTV interviewed Dan Greenawalt and he said that we have more music stations in Horizon 2. Maybe this means a classic rock station can be a possibility.
