Hm.

Yeah, we all expected that. Does it bother me? Hm, not so much. Sure, it's a shame, but since I've yet to experience a Forza game with both these features (have yet to make the leap to an Xbone) it feels like less of a blow.

As long as the content within the game - the cars and map - is exactly the same for both releases, then that should be acceptable for someone who doesn't want to shell out just yet...

Exactly, as long as the content is same. I'm just glad the 360 is getting this game to begin with. If for some reason I decide not to shell out for a XBone, then I will likely pick this up for the 360.

I'm getting dynamic weather in Project CARS not long after FH2 arrives. It also won't bother me if there are fences and barriers, the 360 version's map is similarly sized to the first game, and there's no fine-tuning or functional damage. I loved the first game -- already picked it up again this week, I've logged over 21,000 miles in total -- and a change of scenery is good enough. Any more than that is great. 👍

If you didn't want an XBone, the words "Forza Horizon 2 for 360" are worth more than any extras in the next-gen version.

Heck, I'll get it if they've upgraded the tire smoke and dirt effects (YES that is important to me and it adds to the fun and immersion factor!), improved on engine sound effects, gotten rid of those extra loud arcadey sound effects while racing.... and yeah...

Here's super-hoping the physics are more unforgiving and has consequences of careless driving. No proper damage? No problemo! As long as it's an authentic game that improves upon the original Horizon over physics, shelf life and engine sounds, I'll give it a go.

Getting PCARS on PC?

Nice find; thanks for sharing. 👍

Forza's steadily making improvements in the audio department on a whole. Though I'm not expecting the X360 version to be all that significantly improved over the first one.

Looks like the sounds will still have loops and may be synthesized to a certain degree. Good news is there's going to be more detail and better quality.

Only the final product will tell for sure. Fingers crossed. Thanks to PCARS and Drive Club (and a few other worthy competitors), T10 are really starting to step up their audio development prowess the way they've done with physics and visuals.

Edit: just saw the Huracan video in that article. Looks fun. Quite nice graphically.
Though they haven't fixed the bumper cam height/position - at 2:45, you can see when the player switches, how the cam sits higher and zoomed in, relative to the cockpit and hood cam.

Ah nuts, can't have it all!

I'm wondering, for the 360 version depending on your rank from Horizon, you will earn prize cars. Just like Horizon and FM4 did.

That really was good news [that there'll be a Horizon 2]. Finally bought myself an Xbox One, just for the nicer graphics of Horizon 2 on Xbox One. Can't wait.

Nah man, not yet unfortunately. I have played it a few times though.

I'm just waiting to see how Drive Club and PCARS turn out on the PS4. If they're not that great, I'm just going to pick up an X1 to continue enjoying T10's products.

Coming up you'll have PCars, Forza 5 and Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One.

Amazing times ahead, but PS racing games aren't bad either. Driveclub looks good, but i still would recommend a Xbox One for racing fans, because GT will be released 2015 at the earliest and on Xbox you've got FM5 already and Horizon 2 and Project Cars will be released this year. FM6 should arrive in 2015, if the past is anything to go by.

Right.. if the PS4 version turns out to be better, I just MIGHT ditch the X1. That coupled with Drive Club..

Though I've gotta admit I still have a super-soft spot for Forza. It is going to be a very tough decision.

What's all this stuff I'm hearing about X1 games hanging up randomly? Is it region specific?

Honestly, I'd get BOTH consoles in a heart beat if I could.

You know that pCARS is going to be on X1 as well, right?

Read again mate: I said "how it turns out on the PS4".

Still getting the 360 version. I'm not going to pay $500 plus for a xbone.
I understand your point but you can pick up the X1 brand new without the Kinect for $399.99.

The weather effects look excellent.

This is one of the best 4th quarters for gaming since 2007 IMO. A lot of great games coming out by the end of 2014.

This logic doesn't make much sense, PCars is going to be way better on PC than either console and the differences on the consoles will be minimal at best.

Why take a risk on Driveclub holding your attention when the other console will have Horizon 2 & Motorsport 5 before Driveclub even releases?

Not exactly as if the PS4 has a amazing exclusive catalog out already or even upcoming this year.

Uh what? It's not a phone and the Xbox One is completely region-free.

Which seemed like an odd thing to say, so I wondered if you were aware that it was on all platforms. Was just trying to be helpful.

Do you actually expect significant differences between the platforms? I expect some graphical sacrifices, probably minor ones. While it's a reasonable concern, it's waaaay down the list of reasons why I would choose one console over another. Top of the list are the actual games I could play. I'll take several good games at reduced graphical quality over two at high quality.

But hey, maybe it ends up looking awful on X1. Who knows. Maybe the PS4 lineup of racing games are actually comparable to the X1 lineup of racing games for you. Do what you gotta do.

Have you had a stab at either console versions? How do we know ATM the differences will be minor? It remains to be seen if Sony will actually be able to make any realistic gains this generation, due to having noticeably more powerful hardware again.

Well, by the time Drive Club comes out, H2 and FM5 would have come down in price significantly. Plus it would be interesting to see the future of GT on the PS4, however, I doubt that's going to surface until 2016. Like I said, I'd grab both consoles if I could.

I didn't mean disc region code, I meant faulty consoles landing in the ME, or say SE Asia. That's what I got from one of the X1 dealers: he said they're not being sold and recalled due to games freezing up. He also added (which I though was wierd), the PS4 has far more features than X1.

Isn't it the X1 that doubles as a living room entertainment hub?

Either way, I want a console exclusively for gaming. All these fancy nancy features are white noise to me.

Barring something going catastrophically wrong, the developers have said the console versions will be identical except for graphics.

I depends how important having the very best graphics are to you. pCARS on X1 is almost certainly going to look better than it does on my computer, so I'm not really that fussed either way.
