Here's a little history lesson on the colors of the 1967 Ford XR Falcon GT.
684 built which breaks down to:
671 GT Gold
8 Gallaher Silver - built as promotional cars for Gallaher cigarettes. Gallaher was the title sponsor of the Bathurst 500 and had just introduced a new line of cigarettes called Gallaher GT. They commissioned Ford to built eight Falcon GTs in their corporate silver color as promotional cars for use at the Gallaher (Bathurst) 500.
1 Avis White - built for a Ford executive
1 Russett Bronze metallic - built for Bill Bourke, head of Ford Australia
1 Sultan Maroon metallic - raced by Bob Jane and Spencer Martin at the 1967 Gallaher 500.
1 Polar White - raced by the Geogeghan Brothers at the 1967 Gallaher 500
1 Ivy Green metallic - raced by race winners Fred Gibson and Harry Firth at the 1967 Gallaher 500.
This is my attempt at recreating the Gallaher GT. The silver was eye-balled. Haven't found a good paint chip or source for the color yet. The "GT" is letters from one of the vinyl groups. They're close, but still noticeably different. I'll work on it more when I get some time.
