I now have a Xbox One X and it's great to finally be playing Horizon at 60 fps! :D

The faster loading times are nice too. When I was playing on my original Xbox One, I would stick to Horizon Solo most of time, because I noticed Horizon Life was making everything take longer than usual to load. But that's no longer an issue on the One X.

I know that when you climb the hills at the edge of the map the game removes your grip to stop you climbing, but I think this slide is fairly significant. I had pretty much no control until the J turn at the end.

That's 99% of my builds, yes.

It's too bad the game's balanced around engine swaps and AWD.

I don't really find that to be the case, unless you're the type of person who tries to max out every car you use to S/X class. If you, say, take an A767 car and modestly upgrade it to be an A800 car for online adventure or something, an engine swap may be unnecessary. Likewise, you're not really engine swapping most S1 or S2 class cars.

And without engine swaps, you'd be rendering a vast swath of the car list useless for competitive play (certainly C and D class). I enjoy seeing some of the goofy setups people bring into races

AWD tends to be the mainstream go-to for most players, but I think that's just because the forgiving handling appeals more to non-hardcore racers (especially if you veer off the asphalt often). I still find more experienced players (at least the ones I follow on YouTube) have no problem using a mix of AWD and RWD.

I don't think I've ever been matched into an online adventure that's not S1/S2.

And you'd be completely smoked by some guy showing up in an engine and AWD swapped car that used to be C class.

I stubbornly refuse to use engine, turbo, or drivetrain swaps as much as possible to preserve the original character of the car, but I know most of my builds are compromised because of that. Because even with the PI rebalance, power is still absurdly cheap in this game (and you'll need the magical AWD grip to make use of that power). So yes, it may be unnecessary to drop an engine swap into every car, but you're just gimping yourself if you don't. That's not much of a problem in singleplayer but if you bring an uncompetitive car to team adventure, it's not just you that's affected.

Are there any cars in the game that's objectively better performance-wise when built up to a particular class with RWD and its stock engine than with an AWD and engine swap?

The Ultima 1020 performs better at S2 in RWD on Goliath. (It’s a leaderboard car for the Rivals event)

Other than that AWD is the way of life if you want to succeed competitively, and 2 words help explain why: Freeroam Rush.

My A-class 037 seems to RIP AND TEAR in Online Adventure when I am not busy parking it in a tree... But then, I may have just gotten lucky all the time, and I haven't done a single Rival event yet.

The 1 star means that the player level count has entered the second lap.
Since the maximum at the player level is 200, think that stars are 200 levels per one.
In other words, if you have a player with a player level of 50 in one star, that player's actual level is equal to 250.

Most players I've encountered can't handle 2wd A class cars.

Even when 2wd can keep up, if you're the type of human to make any mistakes or could get punted, 4wd is going to be faster. If offroad driving is involved at all, rally/snow tires pay off too.

In A Class I use a V8 RS4 Avant for Dirt racing and allthough it was already in A class to begin with if you give it dirt tyres and only focus on power mods it will be very competitive.

Allthough it seems when it comes to all A class racing the Bone shaker is the car everyone spams to, I still think it's not hard to build better cars then it though, as i haven't found it to hard to win races with alot of builds I have tried.

So, an AWD power build is competitive online.

They're usually not as good as lower class cars that are built up to A class with maxed out upgrades.
The real hacks is having cars with more then 6 Gears and then putting a racing gearbox, you get the acceleration of a tight ratio with the long ratio max speed.

If it means anything, the pre-tuned A800 037 that you get from the first rally race works amazingly well for me online. Don't think I've ever lost a race in that car and it's RWD.

The 037 is definitely a breeze to drive as is, makes sense that it's a starter car.

Consider my surprise when I built up a RWD Opel Manta to A800 with fairly similar power and weight only to find that it's basically undrivable on the dirt...

The 69 Charger is another one. It has no problems handling 900 HP through the rear wheels in A class. It's got grip for days.

Can someone tell me why there's someone bidding 9 MILLIONS for a GT40 Mk1 on the auction house??? I can't even sell mine for 3 millions...

On the other hand tho i'd be willing to pay a million for a Crown Vic.

EDIT: Found another one. Literally all the other cars had nobody bidding on them yet this person decide to put a bid on the highest priced one.

Finally reached enough credits to buy Edinburgh Castle tonight which completes the last of the houses for me. I got a little bored at the end so I traded in 600 Forzathon points for some Xbow GT4s and sold them each for 440k in a matter of minutes.

Fastest car I can buy in the View All Cars section? I have the Koenigsegg Agera?
Aventador FE is the fastest car, but top speed is limited to 440kmh.

Top Speed wise im pretty sure the Agera RS takes the title if no glitches are used.
