Also info from the stream not mentioned yet. Paintable break callipers probably won’t make it in the game, but they are looking into it for the future (probably FH5 the way it sounded). It wold be about 1.5 hours work per car and just south of 10 GB client update so not feasible.

So they appologized for promising/hinting it in 2018 but now having to come back to that. It’s sad but personally I don’t really mind. I rather have them be really close to the community with upcoming info and possible features rather than being as tight-lipped as Turn 10 was during FM6’s life cycle.

Communication rocks!!! And if that means once in a while they need to back paddle on promises, so be it. No big deal!

Agreed but, I still find it so silly they could not have seen this one coming before release date. I mean come on, they must have had a rough estimate if not a full post launch road map of how many vehicles in total would be in the game.

All this mess of having to be extra careful not to mess up live server data could have been easily avoided pre-launch when no gameplay data was created yet by the players.
Or maybe they did, and it's a bigger issue than it appears to us plebs and that they weren't expecting such an unsuspecting issue to poke it's head in down the road.đź’ˇ Who knows really. The good news is that it's at least acknowledged.

đź‘Ť Meanwhile, we still don't know why there is no 360 deg camera in GTSport in 2019!!! Oh and weather conditions

Not sure if this means anything, but the "official Turn 10 mod" in the stream chat responded "never say never :)", when someone commented about Toyota never coming back to Forza. And based on how they are talking, it seems like they may be a Turn 10 employee, not just some fan.

The mods are usually T10 employees or forum moderators.

OMG if Toyota makes a return to Forza (alongwith Lexus), me and many others will be so darn happy!!! I hope we see them soon. :)

It occurred to me while watching the stream today, how thankless of a job it must be to be a game developer - especially when it comes to games that get continuously updated after release.

The entire time the stream was going, the chat was filled with people complaining about EVERYTHING. The Barrett Jackson car pack. Toyota (about a thousand times). Complaining about what they were talking about any given moment, versus what they WANTED them to talk about. Complaining about the free spotlight car. Complaining about wanting more tracks. And almost always doing so in the most acerbic, terse way possible.

It just struck me, what rank and file at PG or Turn 10 must feel like, reading that stuff, when they probably try to work hard to bring things to these games that the community will enjoy.

Why can't developers get it through their heads that they're supposed to develop a game tailor made to fit my wants? It's not that difficult!!!!1!!!!

On a serious note, it's nice to see Mitsubishi back. It just didn't feel right not being able to do some Evo Vs. STi races. đź‘Ť

Unfortunately, this is a common sight across various gaming communities around the web. Developer streams seem to bring out the worst of this.

I mean, I understand that constructive criticism is part of the job, and these games aren't perfect. But I can't imagine how demoralizing it would be to bring all of these new things you think are neat and cool to the community in a stream, only to see people complaining about anything and everything the entire time.

And there's really no other art form for which this is the case, except maybe television. Movies and music albums get put out into the world, and that's it. Paintings get painted, and then people make of them what they will. Games like these get worked on for months, and have forums and chat rooms filled with people complaining every step of the way.

It really struck me when that Will Lee guy was demoing a couple of the cars from the new FM7 car pack, telling these in depth stories about how cool it was getting to see the secret bunker they are stored in, sending their team to take pictures, talking about how the King Cobra was certified authentic by Carroll Shelby himself, etc. Meanwhile the chat is just going "UGH THESE CARS ARE THE WORST" and so on the entire time, and you can see Ekberg and Lee looking at the chat out of the corner of their eye every now and then. What does it feel like to be them, in that moment?

I'm sure you're told to tune that stuff out in your mind, and that it's just part of the toxic mire that is the internet. But I can't imagine it's possible to totally shut it out.

Well if Forza was special like GT, there will never be any complaints and most will always be grateful/thankful to anything they get. And if you DARE complain, you'll be torn a part!!!!!!!1!1!!:mad::mad:

:D

You haven't been in the GT subforum in a while, I take it.

A friend of mine went through something similar a few years ago with his YouTube Channel. Nearly quit after getting demoralized by a few trolls even though overall his work was well praised by his viewers. Eventually you just have to learn to get over it and continue doing what you love. The more popular something gets the more hate it is going to receive, so once my friend realized this he learned to not let the trolls demoralize him and is continuing to do what he loves on his channel, and couldn't be happier.

I always found it funny when complaints from places like YouTube and Reddit are discussed here rather than where they come from. Where they are almost always mocked far away from the original poster's eyes. It's almost echo-chamberish.
