I also used the Mustang 2+2 for round 1 of the 1960s championship, and it won so convincingly with the stock setup. Pontiac GTO Judge was my choice for round 2, and despite winning again, it took more finesse and determination. Finally I played it safe for the road circuit in round 3 and went with the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta.

I had done 5 of the dailies on the latest Forzathon. I went to Lego yesterday to see if I was eligible for the Barn Find yet (I wasn’t). On checking this morning, the last two dailies had been reset, though the total did not reflect this.

You need to unlock the barn first.

And another week of FP saving, I already had 10 of those stupid Land Rovers. It's like the most common FE you can get.

They said the Playlist cars are "free".

Enter this winter's buggy championship, in which the best car is the Can-Am Maverick - a DLC car. If one of the Drivatars has one of these, unless you bring your own Maverick... good luck.

(the Baja Bug would've been useful in normal conditions, even as RWD)

Actually the Maverick is pretty fun to drive, but you just don't do this... Though the main culprit is the Glen Rannoch CC, in which the AI seems to be fairly OP. A Maverick is untouchable there.

They are, as much as you like to stop up and down saying that they aren't, or whatever.

Considering how ass the buggy class is in terms of balancing, something that has been present in the game since launch, it is what it is really. But what a surprise, time to float some conspiracy theories about how Playground is the devil incarnate for the crime of *checks notes* the DLC cars sometimes being a good option.

I am having a problem with part 4 of the weekly challenge. All I have to do is drive my 1972 Land Rover Series III 15 miles. I drove it for over an hour last night and all it registered was 0.2 miles. I drove on paved roads, I drove on dirt roads, I drove on no roads at all. I even went to Fortune Island to see if the miles would register. They didn't.

Another problem I have is with Forza Hub. It's dropped my ranking from 13 to 6. It says I've only driven 504 miles in Horizon 3 which is insane. I've got thousands of miles and hundreds of hours invested in that game. All my Forza games, Motorsport and Horizon, are showing a much lower completion status.

I drove the Land Rover cross-country and I got the mileage, but I did notice it took a bit longer than usual. In the official forums many have mentioned there is a bug and that you need to be in the Quality graphics settings (30 fps) for the mileage to register (I was.)

Thanks. I'll check that when I get home.

Thanks. I'll check that when I get home.

The solution that worked for me was a simple one, brute force. :P

It wouldn’t register mileage when I had my Series III at D500, but it started to do so when I threw in the Racing V8 and went a lot faster. :D

Granted the game being reset might’ve also done it, but I prefer the former to be true than the latter.

Just enter with a low B-class buggy and the Can-Am doesn't show up. You don't need to max everything out to the top of every given class. The game tailors the AI more or less to your car's PI, anyway.

Mine is still at D100. I'll try @Nacho Libre's suggestion, and if that doesn't work, I'll go max it out and see what happens.

Thanks to resent AH changes, since today I am proud owner of all autoshow cars and almost all non-autoshow cars(except preorder cars and two AMs from current series). Still need to finish current series and Lego challenges. 290h in game, while in H3 it was closer to 350 and big chunk of Autoshow cars wasnt bought

The biggest lie ever told is that you somehow *need* to upgrade all your cars in FH. In fact, you probably don't need to at all, and you'll spare yourself a lot of heartbreak and saved credits.

Not only that, but since you can decide what level of performance you want for every car, you can actually build them to your tastes, not to shoehorn them into existing classes (looking at you, FM7 homologation).

It's a great feature IMO.

And if you want to keep most cars stock (like I have done since the beginning) then the game tailors it to a reasonable percantile with regarss to PI.

It's a wonderful system.

What you did is an exploit. I'm not sure how it helps matters. You're not supposed to run the championship at C600 but the ability to run a car barely above C class forces the AI to do so.

A more "proper" alternative would be to simply run the car at 620 or something. I'm not sure you'd get a Maverick even with a stock Penhall or Alumicraft, though it's possible. Maverick to my knowledge starts at 692.

Thing is, I don't like changing my cars' tunes for these tournaments, it's just too much of a hassle to save the old tune, change it, then bring it back. So I just went with B700 anyway.

It's winnable with the Baja Bug even at B700 anyway, but less skilled players will struggle.

Sorry, I forgot this is the "Forza Horizon 4 cheerleading thread" and not the "Forza Horizon 4 General Discussion" one. Will retract my previous statement.

If you have a problem with me, say it. Because this is GENERAL DISCUSSION. As in, I'm allowed to come here and criticize the game to my heart's content as well as praise it as I have done on numerous occasions which you seem to ignore.

I will not tolerate this childish behavior towards me anymore. Being a paying member here at GTPlanet is not a free pass for being a dick. I'm not the first member you guys are chasing away due to difference in opinions, even though Techlet and Doomotron were hardly nice to argue with.

I don't follow this line of reasoning. The championship is open to any car in that class up to the max PI listed, in this case it's B700, correct? Using a car with a lower PI isn't an exploit. It's a choice, the player's choice. It's one of the nicer features in the game. Use the car you want at the power level you prefer. I understand you don't like messing around with different tunes and I get that. But that doesn't mean the game is taking advantage of you if a different car, even a DLC car, is slightly better at max PI. This is on you because you don't want to make a different tune.

You're supposed to run whatever PI you want as long as it fits the range they give you. That's not an exploit, that's the whole bloody point of the Blueprint system!!!!

I think you'll find pretty much every person taking issue with your complaints has posted their fair share of their own complaints about Forza games.

As in, I'm allowed to come here and criticize the game to my heart's content as well as praise it as I have done on numerous occasions which you seem to ignore.

You certainly are allowed to criticize the game all you want, just as we are allowed to counter your criticisms when we disagree with them. That's basically the whole point of a discussion forum.

If that makes us a bunch of dicks, than I guess we are just the dickiest bunch of dicks this side of the Dickissippi.

So I drove over 1,000 miles in two days in real life. And the next day I loaded FH4; I'm thinking I'm weird.

Anyway, the winter season is going quickly. I even got the 15 miles in the Land Rover without a bug. As I was doing it I saw another guy in a Land Rover, who turned around and followed a while. Too bad there's not a "gotta go" option as I felt bad I had to leave after a bit.

My only annoyance/issue in the seasonals were ram-happy humans on my team in the Track Toys multiplayer. Maybe I'll try it later in the week.

As for the discussion above, I also like how the AI adjusts to the level of your car, as I keep most near stock. If I want to go up a class--like I did with the Alpine for the 70s championship--I'll start with the tires, then brakes and reducing weight. That usually does it. The Alpine was fun for that series, by the way. I did restart the quarry race a couple times, however, as the AI was much better than me at getting back to speed after the jump. I used the Mini for the buggy race, and the Civic for the hatches.

BTW I now have an extra Crown Vic. If anyone's looking for one I can try auctioning it at a planned time.

I’m sitting in front of my OGXB1, but I can’t figure out where to go to change my graphics settings. I’ve poked at settings on both the game and the console and I don’t see anything.

Not an Xbox owner, so just a wild guess here, but I'm guessing what he meant is restricted to the One X.

What you did is an exploit.

Nope. The point of the PI numbers isn't to always be maxed to whatever class you are in.

You still seem to be confusing your right to offer your opinion, with the rest of us not being allowed to tell you your opinion is bad and inaccurate.

Virtually every response to your bad criticisms of FH4, has been people explaining in painstaking detail WHY your specific criticism is inaccurate or invalid. It hasn't just been people saying "how dare you criticize this beautiful, wonderful product from our glorious benefactors at Playground Games". This is also why no one has noticed or cared if you've specifically praised the game - no one is LOOKING for you to praise it.

We are criticizing this hobby horse of yours about the DLC cars, because we think it's a ridiculous criticism, and have explained why to you. You largely ignore these counter-arguments, and complain about how this being a discussion thread means we are apparently supposed to let your opinions just float on by, uncontested. To wit:

They said the Playlist cars are "free".

This implies they are subtly not. Why? Because you think the DLC Maverick is the best car for a championship one particular week? Even though it was subsequently demonstrated that you can still beat the challenge with other cars? Even though you apparently misunderstand the point of the PI/Blueprint system? Even though there's nothing inherently wrong with a DLC car being a really good choice for a challenge, as long as it's not the ONLY way to complete it?

You imply insidious intent, and then when it's explained to you once again why that is preposterous prima facie, you act like you're being silenced.

The 70’s event was something of a walkover with my AWD BMW 2002. I won by 11 seconds on one of the races. I uploaded my setup

This is two days old, but I want to nip this in the bud now:

If you have a problem with me, say it.

I don't have a problem with you as a person. I don't know you, and to be quite honest, you probably seem like a nice guy outside of a forum.

What I do have a problem with, however, is how you've been speaking about FH4 as a whole. Lets go through it.

What you did is an exploit. I'm not sure how it helps matters.

I mean...is it really an exploit? It might be a minor one at best, but again, as I have said, FH4 as a whole doesn't do a good job balancing buggies at all (I would know, I've used them a lot more willingly then maybe others would) As such, if there's a disparity where you can run vehicles basically at, and slightly past, the threshold, why not use it? Then you don't get the Maverick, and everybody's happy.

I should mention this again: FH as a whole doesn't require you to upgrade vehicle to the bleeding edge of the class. Ever. The game balances cars out for you - and as such, you can be flexible with it. There are exceptions and anomalies, but for the most part, the system works, and allows you basically to play with vehicles as stock as you'd like it without having to worry about having to deal with AI that are driving at the highest echelon of the class alongside being on Unbeatable or whatever, like in FM4 once upon a time.

As such, if the opportunity presents itself, why not take it and then not have the offending DLC vehicle appear?

Sorry, I forgot this is the "Forza Horizon 4 cheerleading thread" and not the "Forza Horizon 4 General Discussion" one. Will retract my previous statement.

Stop with this. Please. This thread isn't the circlejerk that you think it is - many people, including myself, have voiced issues and concerns with how PG has operated with regards to the game. There are problems, PG is very much aware, and to be quite honest, there's nothing else that can be done unless PG get onto trying to fix it. Which they have, but it's likely that it will be fixed out in the next Horizon game, especially considering that this is their first kick at the can with regards to a live service game, something that I have pointed out multiple times, in this very forum, is something that PG is very much learning to grapple with.

As in, I'm allowed to come here and criticize the game to my heart's content as well as praise it as I have done on numerous occasions which you seem to ignore.

Yes, and you have that right, as do I. Where our objections to you and your criticizing come in, however, is when you blatantly try to create conspiracies out of thin air to paint PG as this insidious actor. They aren't. Whether it be saying, as in the offending post, that the Playlist cars aren't free because one such instance (Again, the buggies class is notorious for pretty wild PI swings, and as mentioned, it can be remedied by gaming the system, or at least, playing to the system's strength instead of just upgrading vehicles to the bleeding edge) means that if you have upgraded your vehicle fully means you go up against a DLC vehicle that is good in that specific instance. The Playlist vehicles are still free - yet your statement makes it seem as though this is some pay to win deal. It isn't.

This isn't getting into your other frankly asinine points about how the game is pay to win because sometimes the DLC/Playlist cars are good, and not straight trash, insinuating that Forzathon as a concept is somehow meant to punish early adopters (It isn't, not in the slightest) and your consistent re-litigating about how crap the general Forzathon/Festival Playlist limited time car challenges is (Everybody knows this, but frankly it isn't as bad as you're making out to be, nor does it need to be brought up every single time) you can see that for some, it gets incredibly...grating, and honestly kind of frustrating. Especially when you make yourself out as some martyr because the rest of the thread is trying to silence your criticisms. We aren't silencing criticism for the game - we are poking holes into your logic and criticisms because they really hold at most, a kernel of truth and seem more like conspiracy theories then anything else, or baseless statements.

I will not tolerate this childish behavior towards me anymore. Being a paying member here at GTPlanet is not a free pass for being a dick.

Please, point out where me, or anybody else, has been a dick to you, instead of what I described above. Have I've taken the piss out of your statements, and the 'so nasty' joke made by Shakes? Yeah, that might be a bit over the line, but since I haven't been warned or banned by the moderators or broken any of the AUP rules, then it is more or less fine.

I'm not the first member you guys are chasing away due to difference in opinions, even though Techlet and Doomotron were hardly nice to argue with.

Once again, stop making yourself out to be a martyr and realize that we are simply poking holes into your 'criticisms' and that we as a general thread have also made criticisms against FH4 and PG's actions regarding it, but we aren't couching said statements in the idea that PG is turning the game into a pay to win hell hole, or that the Forzathon is to punish late adopters to the game.

We're also did not chase out Techlet, considering he was an incredibly unpopular member that basically did the same thing you are doing, except couched his 'criticisms' with endless nitpicking and negativity that eventually resulted in an absolutely asinine argument that revealed just how clueless he was, nor did we chase out Doomotron, who was simply a kid who wanted to be a contrarian and criticize FH4 using the absolutely weakest argument points imaginable, and didn't know when to quit poking the bear before he eventually did.

so, frankly, feel free to criticize the game. Everybody else has been doing it, and there is certainly no rules against criticizing FH4 or how PG have operated. Where people start to get tired of you is when you post conspiracy theories, and generally try to make yourself out as a martyr. So please stop.

I'm done with this, and to be quite honest, we're reaching dangerously close to the point where such meta arguing about people on the forum would probably get people warned. So for yours, mine, and everybody's else sake, stop.

In the Reaching Your Peaks race, I used a Penhall Cholla, totally stock. Still close to B700. I won the first race and came in third in the next two (beaten by two Can-Am Mavericks). I still won the championship. I think people get hung up on the idea they need to win every race to win the championship. You can win a championship without winning a single race. I know. I've done it.

In the Trial (the co-op championship) I had the perfect car in the KTM X-Bow. Converted to AWD, installed a racing transmission and then tuned it to favor acceleration over top speed. Put on some snow tires and top of the line brakes, then added power until I hit the class max. I was the fastest accelerating car in every race. I was usually first or second by the first corner. Incredibly fun to drive. Which is a good thing since it took me about five tries before I finally found a team that could win the championship.
