I have the car already, but I wanted to give the 50's Championship a go. I picked my trusty Rally-Spec Morris Traveler, and it blew the AI out of the water :)

That article never states the SuperVan is coming to the game, it's just the history of the SuperVan.

It does, at least twice:

Ford announces classic Transit will appear in Forza Horizon 4.

Ford has announced that its classic 1965 Transit van will make a star appearance in Forza Horizon 4, which is good news for videogame and car enthusiasts.

I also read another article somewhere reporting that the car is coming... :boggled:

It says the 1965 Transit will be coming, doesn’t mention the SuperVan at all

My bad, I read everything as Ford Transit for some reason. Though, it's still odd how old news of the Transit being added is currently being reported as fresh news from different outlets.

It's very odd because the article keeps switching between future tense "will be coming" to present tense "Indeed, you can download, modify and race the magnificently styled 75bhp van in the game to your heart’s content. Lovely." It's just kind of sloppily written and edited, like they took an old article and updated it a a little so they could talk about the old Supervans.

Hmmm... I own the digital Ultimate Edition and for some reason today it's telling me to go to the store and buy the game if I want to play it.

What?

There's a major outage of Xbox Live services that is affecting all purchased digital contents. Happened to me too.

Yep, happened to me too, even with games I owned on disc. I could play them, but the DLC wasn't there. It also affected Game pass titles.

The Barrett-Jackson DLC was locked out for me, as well as the Sunbeam Tiger and Talbot Sunbeam Lotus. But I reinstalled them and it was all good.

This week forzashop

Edit:
I got the 1967 VW Type 3 ("Notchback") easily with the Lancia Fulvia maxed to C (dl settings by "FastLane Yordan").

Edit2:
Here's a custom list of cars that should be allowed for that cross-coutry event.

There's bugs in these cars as usual but on the Karmann-Ghia and possibly the other car it's on the underbody so it's not exactly a priority.

A shame that these keep appearing, though.

For the 60s championship you might want a heavy AWD car as usual. The puddles of water near the end of the lap in the CC race will greatly slow you down if you're not running Rally suspension.

This championship suffers from the usual problem with the repeated cars, since the 1969 Charger was a starter car and your friends list might not drive 60s cars very often, so they'll all end up in Chargers.

The VW Notchback struggles to reach C600 with stock engine and vintage racing tires, and the only engine swap choices it has are Subaru turbo engines and the GT3 RS engine, which is a missed opportunity since all of these are too powerful for the car.

This is exactly how I set up my Type 3. Vintage race tires and I left it RWD. It easily made it to C600 with the stock engine. In fact I had to leave a few engine modifications on the shelf or I would have flown past C600. I won the 60s championship originally with my C600 FR vintage race tire equipped Sunbeam Tiger, and then won it again with the Type 3. Granted, I did not win the first race at Mortimer Gardens either time, but I did well enough that I won the championship overall.

If you drop weight to Race you can save on engine upgrades but the car then has too much grip for the engine.

When I say "struggle" I mean "need to run mostly Race parts". Forza kinda underestimates the potential of the old flat-4. :( This engine responds well to upgrades IRL but in Forza it doesn't seem to be the case. Turbo for example does almost nothing!

In the transition to Horizon it didn't lose the swing axle feel either so you might want some toe-in in the front to counter the car's tendency to wander about on the straights.

The 60s event was fun. I used the Jag because it's downright groovy. I hope they continue the decades / lower class cars events (I haven't looked ahead yet).

Right now, though, I'm trying to get the speed zone PR stunt and failing.

Use a Ultima GTR AWD swap I get them easily with the Ultima. Or the 599xx EVO.

Thanks. I'll see if I can get it with the Ultima, but I'll try RWD first.
Edit: Just got it with the RWD Ultima. Thanks again!

Off topic aside: Does anyone think it's odd to play racing games a day before starting a real-life 1,000+ mile, two-day round trip drive?

So I finally collected 2 mil from Horizon business and got the Superfast. I know it's almost impossible for me to complete all the Star Card challenges but still decided to try and complete the Adventure portion. I only needed to qualify for Drifting and Games bit still what a pain. I love the Drift Community but drifting is boring if you don't love it. On the other side I can do Games but the players over there are so arrogant. I"m glad I finished both because I refuse to participate in any of those anymore.... ok, maybe I will do some drifting from time to time. Certainly not Games.

My Mustang 2+2 Rally build demolished the Championship. I also made a tune for the Opel Kadet. not bad but a little too jelly.

Now working on the Shelby Forzathon and then finish up the stunts with the Rimac.

Agree. I think muscle cars are suitable for 60's season events.
These cars have strong torque and are equipped with wide tires. And because these cars are heavy, they don't bounce even on bumpy off-roads, and are also advantageous in terms of PI efficiency.
Swap to AWD and upgrade tire width. And by installing off-road suspension, these muscle cars will be the best beast for C-class off-road racing.
