Eliminator Balance Changes

• Significantly increased the damage to the players outside the Arena when it has shrunk to its final size.

Eliminator Fixes

• Fixed an issue where players were unable to challenge other players to a Head-to-Head
• Added the ability to reset your car position if stuck in a way which does not trigger the automatic reset
  • If you find yourself stuck, hold accelerate, and you will be prompted to reset your car position
• Fixed the issue with some Head-to-Head races having their finish line appear outside of the Arena
• Fixed an issue with the post-race upgrade UI, where the D-pad icon was not appearing as intended
• Fixed an issue where if one player was eliminated by the arena whilst in a Head-to-Head, both players would be eliminated.
• Fixed an intermittent crash

I suspect that Eliminator Balance Change is going to negatively affect my winning percentage.

It will probably affect a lot of people's winning percentage.

It's been suggested multiple times as the only way to win on the forums.

Because of this, those who are trying to get the "Heads Up" achievement just gotten a lot harder now. I think is because everybody started doing it after finding out about it, heck, I even caught someone doing it in a GT-R, GT-R! IMO, such a achievement should even exist because it's all luck based...

But with controller on PS4 you can easily use the right joystick as a throttle and it's balanced since the steering is level with it. Your thumb is also in a more cramped position when using the steering on a Xbox controller.

I'd rather use brake and accelerator triggers than the right stick because sometimes you need to brake and accelerate at the same time. DS4 is rubbish for this compared with Xbox controller.

Well, the latest patch seems to have broken the game on my PC. I hit Enter to begin, the "Loading...Please Wait" message pops up, my gamertag pops up then...nothing. The FMV freezes, the music keeps playing, the circle thingy keeps spinning, but the game just sits there.

And with Christmas less than a week away, I'm guessing PG is operating on a skeleton crew (relatively speaking) from now to New Year's Day so...

So the achievement should just be easy to get instead of presenting a challenge? That defeats the purpose and sense of accomplishment. I understand there are some out there that are given easily and present no challenge, but they shouldn't all be that way.

An achievement that is gotten by some random, cheating way, is not an achievement. At least not in the sense I mentioned.

I don't really care either, but 'Pacifist' still hasn't worked for me even though I've done the job 4 or 5 times now! At least one time was without doing any H2H, truly pacifist

Has anyone got the car to reset by holding accelerate? Didn't work for me and I got eliminated by the final arena shrink

Final out-of-arena fix is welcome but crudely implemented - it would be a lot better if the penalty rate gradually got more severe, so that it's not so painful if racing towards the arena just after it's shrunk. It would still have the same effect of stopping early starts for the final showdown. (I got trapped on the wrong side of solid walls when it shrunk on Edinburgh, and only just made it back in).

On the plus side, I got my best finish yet in the Mini on a fairly short race south from Edinburgh, and it was a pretty close one

I'm not saying it should be easy, but the fact that it's all luck based isn't necessarily good for those who want to obtain all achievements. The "Heads Up" achievement, to me, is like the "Underdog" achievement from FM7, and that's all luck based too (especially if you don't find the right people to help you get it).

An achievement that is gotten by some random, cheating way, is not an achievement. At least not in the sense I mentioned.

*Gasp!* Cheating!? I feel insulted! But you know what, I don't feel bad either. I literally had to do the same thing twice, together with the pacifist achievement which was all luck based, and the two of them didn't unlock after the second attempt, I wouldn't call that "cheating" imo. I cheated entirely for a good reason because I knew PG was going to make things harder and said-so done. :\

Finally got the Heads Up achievement. I was in the level 5 Focus RS. It was a close race between me and a level 8 Fiesta on the road, but the limited top speed on the rally car gave me the advantage right near the finish. Even though I've won eliminator rounds without getting car drops before, I liked finally earning the achievement this way after the new update where you can't get a headstart. It was more of a challenge, which I liked.

HOWEVER I wanted to challenge myself even more. So I played some more rounds and eventually won the eliminator again in the Mini! Now that is quite a victory right there.

So, I love the Alpine A110, I bought Gran Turismo Sport when I found out they were adding it. So I was delighted to see that they're adding it for free! I enjoyed doing the playlist for the Porsche 906 a few months back, so it's a win/win. So I got my game all up to date and then started making progress towards getting my favourite car in current production. I did one championship and looked back at the playlist and then I realised... I won't get the car till mid January without XBL Gold, and I'd have to play the game pretty much every. Single. Day in order to get it. The amount of work compared to the result was just far too imbalanced and reminded me of real life, which made it all seem very unrewarding. And even if I did go through all that, a year has passed since release and I just can't find anything to appreciate on the map anymore, so what's the point?

It's not so much the festival playlist that bothers me, if you have XBL Gold it can be great. But if you're like me, and don't actually play many games and don't have enough reasons to subscribe to it, you're dealt a terrible hand.

I wouldn't normally get XBL Gold either, but aren't they doing the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (which includes Xbox Live Gold) 3 months for £1 deal, in your region?

I got a message saying it violated the language filter and I can’t even figure out what dirty word they thought I was trying to use. I got the same message for “33006”.

That's what I'm gonna have to rely on, as I've run out of potential fixes for my bricked PC version (Uninstalled everything FH4 related, reinstalled the base game, Fortune Island and Lego per the widely disseminated recommendation.).

I guess it was about time by number came up in FH4's game-breaking-bug roulette.

Regarding the SS, they are probably in self-imposed control because of the ridiculous protests Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial made against Chevrolet.
But these badges are available in other games, such as NFS. It seems to be according to Microsoft policy, not Chevrolet.

I don’t consider their protests ridiculous. Yes, we all know that SS on a Chevy means Super Sport and is unrelated to the Schutzstaffel of the Nazi Party before and during WWII. But I’m not a Jew or an Israeli. I’m not a survivor of the Holocaust or a descendant of one. The horrors of the SS are far more real and visceral to Jewish Israelis than it is to me, an atheist (former Catholic) in the Pacific Northwest who was born almost twenty years after the war ended. If they tell me that using SS on cars sold in Israel is insensitive and needs to stop, I’m going to listen and abide by their wishes. Being mindful of the pain of others is simple basic empathy.

Something similar happened to me too, except I was trying to rename a race. I created a blueprint with the Derwentwater Trail and wanted to rename it "Derwentwater Rally Bash" but was told it was inappropriate.

I tried again changing it to "Derwentwater Rally" but the game still told me no so I just left it as default.

My partner's lad is getting a One S with Horizon for Christmas and since he's only interested in flashy supercars he sees on YouTube, I was tasked with getting some for him.

It was a pleasant surprise to see he has the two preorder cars and the 10 apology super wheelspins waiting for him already. So now he has some nice cars to start with and 1.6m credits. He will be super pleased.
