Once the timer starts for the final showdown, it's best to leave the arena and predict a direction on where you think the finish would be depending on where you're currently at. You'll have a chance at leading by a lot.

This a good shout and it also helps if the final zone is in the corner of the map. For instance, if the zone closes around Arthur's Seat (East of Edinburgh), there is a high chance you will be racing in a south-westerly direction.

Exactly, and perfect timing because I just got two more wins by doing the same method and making right prediction. First was in the Nissan GTR and the other one the AMG GTR.

Don't forget that, for the "Heads Up" Achievement you need to do this with the Mini Cooper too I think. It says you have to win the event with "no car drops", so what I assume is try to survive until the final countdown - do the same method @CarGuru suggested - make it to the end before anyone else and win the event. This is pretty much what I had to do to get the achievement, but it's all luck based.

Good luck to anyone who attempts to get it. 👍 Get it early before other everyone starts to know and do it too, even those who got the achievement.

I still got Heads Up after beating a lvl4 Ford in H2H and taking that car to the win... my only win so far :)

That's what I was thinking, otherwise they would've described the achievement as something along the lines of "Win a game in the Mini".

By the wording, I should have got 'Pacifist' in my last game! But either I got hit by the bug or the H2H I won disqualified me, even though I didn't take a car from it.

34% of the weekly playlist done, sure the Diablo will be mine within a couple evenings. I had little to no time for playlists when the game first came out, as I was living between 2 towns and my Xbox was where I spent least time.

I was a very vocal opponent of them, but now I'm warming to them.

I've found the final destination will be in the corner furthest from the final zone. Another thing to bear in mind is to listen to the GPS. Once the final round starts, if you don't hear anything from the GPS you're generally going in the right direction. If the voice tells you turn around you're either going in the wrong direction or need to make a hard left or right. I've been using this technique and have only got it wrong 3 times. Every other time I've gotten a big enough lead that I'm able win without much trouble in the Mini.

I believe all you have to do is reach the final showdown with the Mini. I didn't get the Achievement when I won my first round with the Mini until after I restarted the game.

Heh, you got my hopes up so I just restarted the game and messed about for a bit, but still didn't get it. I'm on PC, dunno if it makes any difference to how achievements are registered. Maybe it'll come if I play Eliminator again... or they fix the bug!!

Did you survive without doing any H2H races?

I'm on PC too. I know there's an uproar about the missing achievements on the Forza forums so should be fixed sometime soon (hopefully).

Tried the Eliminator a few times, had no idea what I was doing most of the time and most of the time I was just driving around aimlessly, my highest finish so far is 18th.

So you didn't need the mini to get the achievement!? To think I took a big risk and almost lost to a lvl.10 Hoonigan Escort on my way to the finish! :scared:

Thankfully the game was on my side and it took us through the woods to stop the two guy on my trail. Man, I'm super proud me and the mini won that event. I was super terrified. :nervous:  :)

It's a shame there isn't an achievement for winning with the Mini, because it's certainly the coolest way to win! I'm still going to try and do it anyway, achievement or not :D

Annoyingly, despite making it to the end in a Mini, I didn't get the pacifist achievement. I don't get why, I didn't get into a single race until that point. A Subaru Impreza tried chasing me at one point, but I lost it.

I took note of a good share of my last rush, and as I counted a dozen of different last areas, I also counted 3 different finish line for two starting area. And I never saw the same twice. And sometime they are in opposite directions.
But south is a good bet from Edinburg indeed.

Hello just wondering if there are any cruising clubs/groups available. I remember years ago there were a few for Gran Turismo. I have searched a few times on here for one and have had no luck so far just was curious.

Thanks

3-4 playlists could be cool. Something like all cars are RWD/FWD.

So much this. There is a huge scope for restricting vehicles to keep The Eliminator feeling fresh; Restrict cars by continent, decade they were produced in, the inclusion of pre-upgraded vehicles and upgrade heroes etc.

This guy won eliminator on his first try. Not only that, he was able to get the heads up achievement despite taking other players cars and upgrading his when winning multiple H2H. So when it says to win without car drops, it just means not to claim the ones you find throughout the map. The "car drops" that you pick after winning a race are excluded. That's what I thought in the first place, just wanted to let you guys know in case you were confused. I've won eliminator by doing this method and I've won in the Mini, but still didn't get the achievement or the pacifist one. Should get fixed soon though.

I'm sure they'll add more things to Eliminator in a future update.
