Update report: Time to review my thoughts on this game after a month.

Pros:
- Route Creator, I like that it does allow me to make tracks along any route in the game just as long as I pick an event to start from.
- Some of the updated sound samples don't sound half bad to me, though that isn't saying much as I'm not an audio expert.
- I like the return of more cars from FH1 & FM4 such as the Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A & Vauxhall VX220. I do enjoy the addition of a 1970s Ford F150, even if it's one modded by Hoonigan. The Ford Escort Cossie added at least has a different interior to the one already in the game.
- The live forzathon has been fun, I like how players have to make a team effort to get the tasks done.
- Heck, I thought I would dislike playing online with other players when the game came out. However, this game changed my mind a bit. Most players don't seem to bother me and just do their own thing. I think I only met one griefer when I left my car alone for a few minutes going to the bathroom. Aside from that, it's been okay.
- Blueprints still being here definitely helped with the longevity for this game.
- I don't remember saying this before, but I'll say it here. I'm glad I don't have to do championships on the same races again to complete the game, that was tedious in FH3.

Cons:
- While I said I'm glad I don't have to do solo championships to complete the game. I am annoyed that they weren't available as an option outside of seasonal events. I still like doing championship events from time to time, so it makes no sense to me that they're restricted to seasonal events.
- Speaking of seasonal events, they kinda annoy me. The races like in the main game are still way too short! I'm stuck at the moment on a cross country race because I'm racing the AI on a higher difficulty, but I do not have enough time to beat them all. Seriously? Only 3 laps? Is PG afraid of boring players if they have to do 5-7 laps. I'm not asking for a mini endurance, I just want my races to be a bit longer in order to have a chance. Especially in cross country events where I'm going to likely make more mistakes like hitting a tree (or a castle wall in my case).
- Before people ask why I didn't use rewind. Well that's simple, rewind wouldn't work. I tried pressing the rewind button several times (I checked the controls to make sure I didn't change anything) and it doesn't engage. I checked my controller to see if the button is broken by taking a quick screenshot and my Xbox took a screenshot as commanded. So, this tells me that it's broken.
- Aside from rewind, the sound still isn't working properly. I get lag with all sounds in the game and this is a major problem to me.
- The route creator is flawed and limited. The AI seem to not follow the line that I set always, there's one race I made where one car would skip the first checkpoint for instance. I see some cars go off the road on another route I made. In addition, it's kinda dissappointing that I can't do more than set checkpoints and a finish line. I was hoping that I could add barriers, fences, and archways. Similar to what GT6's track editor had.

I had GT6, it didn't have a track editor.
There was some kind of stupid app that did, but the game did not.

Yes it did, that app you're referring to was connected to the game. Whatever you made on the app could be added to the game and the results of that app were 5x better than the route creator in this game.

PJ, my dude, I mean no disrespect when I say the following, but how come you post your liveries in three different threads? Is it so you can achieve the maximum downloads possible? Please don't feel like I'm attacking you or anything. I mean, why would I? You're probably one of the most well-respected people within the community. It's just been something I've been wondering recently. :P

One is my paint thread, one is the general paint thread. Maybe the third one in here is a bit excessive but it’s the only thread anybody really pays attention to these days :P

No worries, like I said I was just curious. Being Portuguese does that to a man.👍

So I 3-starred all the drift zones... with the Peel P50. Haha, just kidding! I managed to use it for Riverford but then I tried a muddy one, and... oh dear! Next up in size is the BMW Isetta. It has a full compliment of wheels, so that's good. And it's still small enough to choose a line even on the narrowest of tracks, which is even better.

Of course, some upgrades and tuning went in: Turbo Rally engine, AWD, Vintage Race tyre, Race transmission (final drive = 2.64), Race diff (centre balance=80% rear), Drift springs, Race anti-roll bars (front=46, rear=55), Roll cage, Race cams, Remove Restrictors. I'm sure that tune could be improved, but it'll do.

More than do. 3-starred the remaining 18 zones as quickly as my limited skill would allow :D Some tougher than others, although the last couple of upgrades weren't added until near the end. Moorland Way was hard work getting 95k out of just three corners, and Otleydale took a few tries to build >125k but when it came together it was a sweet run :)

So I was expecting the Hoonitruck to be another mostly useless drift vehicle, but I finally got around to claiming it and oh WOW. It's perfectly drivable without any need for tuning, doesn't lose speed when e-brake drifting, handles just fine offroad on stock tires, and after filling out the skill tree this thing racks up skill points just from driving around the map... no mindless grinding on the sand dunes needed anymore.

Sure wish I had this two weeks ago when I decided to get earning the Sagaris FE out of the way...

I don't know about that truck but is it AWD? What do you mean by useless? From their FD pack? Their RWD cars felt twitchty at first to me but some minor adjustments for it does shine better than the normal cars converted to drift. Is AWD drifting real drifting or better drifting? Just wondering as I only do RWD and it works fine.

These blueprint races are nice helping me grind for credits, I’m currently at $10 million I only neeed the $15 million credit castle then I got all the houses, still haven’t bought all the cars yet since I’ve been getting most of the cars through wheel spins. Still haven’t changed my character’s clothes.

I have over 420 cars in my garage now and I only bought ONE car from the auto show. That was that Honda NSX-R you needed for a Forzathon weekly event I believe it was in the first week after launch. Everything else came from wheel spins or just free of charge (VIP, DLC, car pass).

I already got all houses but that was also the only place where my money was spent (apart from car upgrades). I now have over 30 million credits saved up, I keep saving up until I have more money in the bank than the total price of cars I am still missing (which is still a long way to go thanks to the many 10 mill cars). But it’s the best starategy if you don’t really care about a specific car but just want to collect all of them.

I do believe that at some point in the future the more expensive cars might become Forzathon prize cars as well. For now the main car is always a FE car but at some point they either need to repeat them again or else add other cars.

That never came with the game. It could be 100x better, but it still never came with the game or as an update.

It also took like a year to arrive after it was supposed to.

Uh huh, I know it wasn't included at launch. Why are you pointing that out? That wasn't even the point I was making. I was criticizing FH4's route creator and using GT6's track path editing app as a reference on what I was hoping for. I'm sorry sir, but this argument you're making sounds pointless.

But i'm on xbox one...will that work?

Yes.

1. Take your console offline
2. Restart your console
3. You're now able to change time and date

Word of warning though, you might lose some/all locally saved screenshots by changing the date. Locally saved screenshots are kept for 30 days I think? A few weeks ago I lost some screenshots I took while I was offline, changing seasons... :P

Oh awesome! And pardon me for asking, but what season and circumstances do you have to achieve in order to get the patrol outfit?

I'm not sure (I don't have the outfit), but apparently you get it from one of the Spring seasonal championships, starting Nov 17th.

I go to the festival to tune/upgrade a car, how do I fast travel from that part of the map where the festival is to a place on the map?
you have to buy the 2 million credit manor house near the center of the map in order to unlock the ability to fast travel anywhere

You have to purchase the Fairlawn Manor for 2,000,000cr. Then you can fast travel anywhere on the map. However unless you've smashed all of the Fast Travel discount boards, you'll still have to pay to travel.

Got it, gotta buy Fairlawn Manor for 2,000,000cr

thanks

If you haven't already done so, start smashing the fast travel boards (as mentioned by @JeepXJFreak ) while you save up for the Fairlawn Manor property. If you haven't smashed any boards, you're looking at a Cr. 10,000 fee every time you want to use Fast Travel (Each board you smash reduces the fee by Cr. 200)

You mean those boards that say either 1000 or 2000 or 3000 on them?

Nope, those are influence boards (which are still worth smashing to increase your rank)

Look for the boards with the lightning bolt icons.
