I bought the XBox OneS just for Forza Horizon 3. It was such a jump in gameplay quality that I bough FM6 a week later, bought FM5 2 months later, pre-ordered FM7 (and never regret it), bought all the DLC for all of them, and finally enjoyed FH2 this Summer. Forza is just a ton of fun to play with.

Snap! I also did the same ^^^ I held off for a while as I went to Playstation2 from the XB360. I was thinking it was quite an outlay just for one game but i did really enjoy FH1 and picked up the original Xbox One FM6 + FH3 in a cheap package in 2016) and then this year I upgraded to the One X and have all Forzas including my original disc FH1 from Xbox 360! Now i have the Xbox One X i feel with new releases it is paying off and it is great to see 4K Forza games. I have brought CODWWII & Gears of War in the sales but mainly use it for Forza too.👍 (on Controller no wheel)

My main problem with FH4 despite it looking gorgeous and definitely better than FH3 is that the car list is basically unchanged. If you look closely at the car list the most recent cars from many manufacturers are from 2016. But we had since then so so many cars coming out, even 2019 models are benig shown but the game seems to not have updated licenses. Except for the Senna and a few other 2018 cars, it's really 'old'.
Just a few examples: No new RS5, instead we still have the 2012 version. No new M5, no new RS3, no new E63S, all are the old models. No Performante, 812, Pista, Portofino. Like, seriously, this is supposed to be the pinnacle AAA game for car enthusiasts, so where are these latest models? :(

While this is slightly true, despite having the largest car list of any of the console racers, Forza does have more of the new models than any of the other big names out there. It's missing some, sure, but it's missing less than something like GT Sport (still four Porsches a year later, an '09 458 Italia as the newest road-going car that isn't a La Ferrari) or PCARS2 (solid McLaren lineup, but not much else in terms of modern road cars).

I have the first XBox One model, would you buy an Xbox One X only for FH4 knowing that I play it on a 1080p screen? For the first time, I will buy the ultimate edition (well done Microsoft , we say racing games don't sell anymore but I've bought an Xbox only for Forza and all the six!!! Forza games).

I've got the X hooked up to 1080P screen for now and even if I'm not getting the full 4K experience, I'd say it was worth it. It's quieter, faster, and downscaled 4K means it still looks crisper than before, if however slightly.

Also, the perk with FH4 in particular would be that you could run it in 1080P/60fps mode...

I was in the same situation. Why I need a console for just one game? I stopped with gaming after GT6. I grew up enough and tough maybe it is just time to stop playing games. Than after 4 years I saw a gameplay of FH3 on my TV and it was love at first sight . So I bought me an Xbox for my 42nd birthday. (Controller-Casual Player)

Quieter, faster, 60fps, crispier image.... I need a console upgrade.

Less than two weeks to go!
Can we get a real-time countdown timer thingy added to the OP once we reach the final 10 days to go? :D

Take note: Turn Ten (or probably since it's Horizon: "Playground Games") doesn't just simply get the latest car models right away. They are considering these cars, but will take time to license and completely build into the game (such modelling, graphics, lighting, sounds, specs, physics and other such aspects). It'll take time to add these cars but they are probably working on it.

This is reminding me of comments I see on youtube. Why is it some people on the internet always associate car enthusiasts only having to like the latest things? Yes, I get that you want the latest cars, I want them too, but it just bothers me people still make comments like this.

With that said, the main reasons for it are down to Turn 10 having to take a lot of time to get the blasted things licensed and modelled. At the same time having to model other cars people want like more race cars from history like a Lotus Elise GT1 or a Porsche 917/20. In which, I don't know why people are assuming Forza is behind other racing games in this category anyway, FM7's competitors aren't exactly up-to-date on this themselves considering that GT Sport still doesn't even have a Ferrari 488 GTB (let alone the Pista), Lamborghini Aventador SV, Porsche 918, and more cars. I mean, it isn't like asphalt where they can create a new model so easily.

Also:
Not very high hopes here as for example Forza 7 DLCs only brought very unappealing cars. All sort of exotics, suv's, oldtimers, drift cars, you name it. I think the only cars from the FM 7 DLCs i liked were the 812, 720s and the Giulia QF
...WHAT? You call a Bugatti Type 35 or a Porsche 935 unappealing?! Well, that's blasphemy!

I did not mean to offend anyone who is into older cars or racing legacy or heritage cars. Not at all. It is just that the cars i listed are more appealing to me and i would've liked for them to be included. I did not by any means take a crap on the game or it's car list, not at all. I just expressed a bit of personal meh. As i said: Will still get it, because after all it is still i think the best arcade racing series.

I can't find graphics comparison between Xbox One, Xbox One X and PC.. Is there any comparison yet?

And especially for photo mode (draw distance, shadows, reflections, etc).

Not sure if I should buy Xbox One, One X or new parts for my PC.

Gotcha. 👍
It's just the way you worded it lead me to think otherwise.

Both the newest car and the vintage car will have hope. They added a new 'Vintage Racers' division at FH4. Perhaps vintage cars will be added at DLC to increase the lineup of this division. Like FM7.
And the latest cars were found in a car list that some symbolic cars leaked like AMG Project One and New Griffith.

The tragic thing is cars from 1980 to 2000. They probably will not be chosen mostly for DLC. Especially the 80s.
Many of the hot hatches such as Astra, 205 GTI, Super 5 and Ritmo Abarth are 80's models. I hope they will love models of these era.:nervous:

Mate, I want a Ritmo/Strada Abarth just as much as the next guy, but can you imagine the screeching if they actually did that? Unfortunately, they have to cater to the lowest common denominator first, and to uber-l33t car guys second. And 80s hot hatches all tend to handle the same anyways - and it's not a good same, as they were essentially coffins with a mildly angry engine in the front.

I remember someone made a joke about "The Real Fence Destruction Simulator".

Just a reminder. If you are going to farm influence on Mixer, it will cap at 260k. Some more free stuff when you start the game.Maybe a lv5 in the Mixer progression of HorizonLife, some shirts, emotes, wheelspins ecc.

No, you were right when you said the dlc pretty much sucked for FM7. :)

Oh so there is an upper limit.

I was watching a stream before and on the chat people where asking why the points stopped at 260k. Went on the Forza forum and also there someone mentioned a cap of 260k. But now I see someone got it to 370k... not sure what is going on.. ehm, I'm only at 75k. :embarrassed:

Someone on Reddit dug out a bunch of Tire brandings from the game files. Hopefully these are made available for most cars at some point and aren't strictly limited to Forza Editions and Specialty vehicles. So far from the Demo and YouTuber preview event we've only seen the "Forza" branded tires in the upgrade menu, and I'd love to put some of these on my car builds.

I watched a little bit of FH4 on Mixer on my XBox as well but I don't know if any rep was counting. Where can i see that value?

You need to watch the stream for five minutes. You need to set the language to English on Mixer. Than click on the blu ribbon icon below.

These letters look better than "Forza".
But it is a pity that they did not include TOYO TIRES and Falken in this. I used them frequently at Need For Speed.

I know the leaked gameplay with the Ford Falcon that surfaced a week ago confirms the yellow Eagle Goodyear lettering, but that looked like it was the Forza Edition.

Having said that, I did spot the Falcon FE in the demo street race, It had tire lettering and it didn’t look yellow to me (Might have to double check.) so my guess is they held back a few of the lettered tyres from the demo, but that’s just me speculating.
