To each their own, I personal started liking FH when I saw them do the hot wheels tracks/cars and legos an extension of that. Maybe its just pulling on my nostalgia but that is where the draw is for me. And as good as 5 is looking whats most interesting to me is the editor and the things people will create.

I love this is in real life so of course I'd love it in a game thats drivable
I really do like the lego cars for their quirky, yet interesting appearances. My most favorite is the Porsche 911 Turbo. I know it's not for everybody, but driving them is some of the most fun (and funniest) I had out of FH4. I wished we had more because the Speed Champions was packed(!) with cars. 😲

Provided Lego Speed Champions return in Forza Horizon 5, it's possible to get the newer cars, with that of the Koenigsegg Jesko, Toyota GR Supra, Ford Bronco R and McLaren Elva. (Also hoping both the GR Supra and McLaren Elva's original counterparts make it to the game).

Good thing the original Koenigsegg Jesko and Ford Bronco R are already in the game.

There's even a Corvette C8.R, but unless they pull a "Motorsport All-Stars pack" like in Horizon 3, I'm not so sure.

Again, I'm not entirely sure how any lego car would interfere with said art style if it's not effecting the game's style itself. They are simply cars but life-sized toy figures akin to the hot wheels in game.
Because they're there. It's like seeing a realistic landscape drawing with a cartoon character thrown into it. It's distracting.
Not to mention since they barely did anything with the Lego cars, they're basically just lego duplicates.
Then I really can't help you with that if that is what you're looking for. It's not like everyone drives them in game for you to see them. The only suggestion I can give you is simply creating your own events and delist the lego cars if they bother you so much, unless this is online by players?
That's fine until I see drivatar A.I. driving around in one of the things, being reminded of their existence.

Yep. Totally ruined Space Jam and Who Framed Roger Rabbit?.
I get your point, but it doesn't quite feel the same with this game. With those movies, they were mixing things from the start, I knew what I was getting into. With this game, there was nothing about the game's career that made me think they were going to implement cartoon cars into it.

Bottom line, I don't hate playable lego cars as a concept, but I don't want them crossing over with a game focused on realistic looking cars. I prefer my worlds separate. and while they technically are with the lego town in this expansion, the cars themselves will still show up in the main game driven by drivatar ai.

Not to mention the Mario Home Circuit game I literally mentioned a few posts before his. Talk about missing points.

The biggest one being that if he doesn't like being lapped by cars made of plastic bricks, he can edit them out of his races with the tool specifically designed for that purpose rather than jumping up and down ranting that other people's fun is spoiling his. Small mercies, I suppose. At least it's not a complaint about Big Sister sneaking pronouns into the game.

Your complaint seems to be very specific to you and you alone. Just edit them out.
That could be me alone, but even so; I'm not editing them out.

EDIT: Actually, I will edit one thing in. If my complaints are really just specific to me alone, then I'll say that I don't have an issue with people enjoying the lego expansion for what it was and driving the cars til their hearts content. I apologize if I came off like some unhappy man wanting other people to stop enjoying something. That wasn't my intention, I was just giving my perspective.

Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens in FH5. But I have this bad feeling we may not see lego make a return due to criticism of there inclusion.

Okay, now I think you are just crossing the line a little too far there bud. You do realize Space Jam and the Roger Rabbit movie both exist right? You know, two of which features "cartoon characters" in a realistic landscape that you're accusing FH4 for doing with lego? Not just that, but the 2021 Tom and Jarry movie also features cartoon characters within the real world as well.

It's essentially what @Populuxe Cowboy's revealed in response to @RodSk8Dude's post, as well as @Famine and @UKMikey with yours. It's rather unfair you single out FH4 for this act when these three movies happen to have done it as well.

I get you may not like lego being in the game's world, but it's not that big of an issue if it's only you who is treating it like one.

I am completely aware and have watched a couple of those movies. I can't quite explain well on why I'm having issue with FH4 doing it versus the movies. So, I'll drop it.

With that said, if it sounded like I was mad at you or trying to attack you for loving something I dislike; I apologize. I could have replied to your comments with less aggression and I"ll do that next time. This doesn't change my view on the Lego Expansion though.

I'm not mad at all actually. I'm only being neutral about the whole situation at hand. There will always something we like or don't like, so we tend to express about it.

No need to apologize or feel that you were coming off as aggressive. :) I get where you're coming from, but the lego stuff in Horizon is really not that big of a deal once you've delisted them from your races. It may sound like a tedious task, but I think it may be worth it in the end.

You're probably right. The fact I can choose my opponents in FH4 makes it less of an issue than the standard cars in GT5 & 6.
Also no, I never found that too tedious; I love being able to pick and choose my A.I. opponents. I wish this option would carry over to Forza Motorsport.

Personally I think of Hot Wheels and Lego expansions as non canon to the Horizon world. I also think of Super 7 with its sky tracks in the same way. Standalone Horizon is clearly based in a ’real’ world, so to me Hot Wheels and Lego are their own separate universes in a way. Helps to suspend Disbelief that you‘d have Lego cars racing against IRL cars.

The funny thing about Forza Motorsport, is that it had the ability to choose the AI's cars in FM3 and FM4, but only online play. Up until now, T10 has let to bring this feature to its offline mode. FM Next NEEDS this kind of feature combined with custom championships and FM7's free play features. That will seriously make its offline mode even better than it currently is now! :D

I don't mean edit your complaint out. Use EventLab to edit the cars out of your events.
This is something i have just learnt, where does one find EventLab, I presume this is something within the game as I too would 'not' like to see the Lego cars in races against me (I always loose to them!)

We're discussing a game which isn't going to be released until November. EventLab is part of that.

Oh. Yup, I'm going to probably do that.

Forza Horizon 4 has the blueprint that allows you to pick whatever opponents you want. The only limit I found was that you can only pick 50 different cars per event, a limit I learned on my own.

Yup, I know those very well and FM7 was getting there in terms of options, but none quite match up to the blueprint system introduced in the Horizon games.

Ah OK, was hoping it might be something with current FH4 too but guess I shall just do the 'edits' in the new game.

Read @RandomCarGuy17's response to you in the post above mine. It looks like you may be able to create a non-Lego Blueprint in FH4 but the opposition is limited to a choice of 50 models.

snc

Is it just me, or do the cars in FH4 seem to have more transparent windows? It seems really noticeable on the Huracan under similar conditions where the FH4's engine bay is easily visible, but in FH5, it's as if tint has been applied.

They definitely have way more transparent windows. I've noticed that some even look invisible from certain angles

If you look at the buggy comparison, FH5 has much darker blacks than FH4 which is kind of flat. FH4 looks almost tone mapped in comparison to 5. Could explain some of what you are talking about?

They should add a new skill point for blocking people when you’re in first place. Like good blocking, great blocking awesome blocking and ultimate blocking.

Super excited about the new Horizon. My son and I have played Horizon 4 since it came out and it's always a fun bonding experience for us. Also, a great way to teach a kid about cars. An improvement I hope to see would be for city areas to have a little more life to them. I love the Horizon series but the cities always feel dull to me.

Something else I think would be really cool but not sure how possible it is would be to have a sort of serial number system keeping track of what number car you have in relation to other online players. I guess offline players would detract from this but I think it would add a lot of value to the Auction House experience.
