I had possibly the worst team in the Trail just now. Every one of them were at the back of the pack and all quit before the end of the first race. So I got to enjoy the other two races and win it by myself in peace without team mates wallriding and ramming all over the place...😄

So the SVJ is coming back around & folks on Reddit are sharing folks are now trying to off-load theirs', lol. I might have been inclined to do the same, but I also just barely got mine & put a lot of effort into it, so I'll stay with having two. :D

I've got 35 millions credits and an SVJ already. When I get another one, I'm going to gift it to a new player. One is enough for me.

Speaking of gifting cars, I always gift to new players. I believe it cuts down on regular players trading the same S13 back and forth a dozen times.

I've been away from the game for a while. Is this the new wheelspin meta or something I've missed?

I think he said Octal to Text conversion? Not sure what is that either.
Octal is a numerical system which is base 8 instead of base 10 for decimal. Converting Octal to text brings up CDKL. What it refers to, I don't know.

He is talking about it around 22 min into the stream. I think he said Octal to Text conversion? Not sure what is that either.
"Octal" is base8 math - like binary is base2.

In decimal you have the units from 0 to 9. When you add one more, it rolls over to the next order of magnitude: a 1 goes in the "10" column, and a 0 in the units.

In octal you count the units from 0 to 7, and when you reach 8, it becomes 10 (one 8, no units).

Just to make that easier for you:

Decimal - Binary - Octal
0 - 0 - 0
1 - 1 - 1
2 - 10 - 2
3 - 11 - 3
4 - 100 - 4
5 - 101 - 5
6 - 110 - 6
7 - 111 - 7
8 - 1000 - 10
9 - 1001 - 11
10 - 1010 - 12
11 - 1011 - 13
12 - 1100 - 14
13 - 1101 - 15
14 - 1110 - 16
15 - 1111 - 17
16 - 10000 - 20

Now, for... really super tedious reasons, octal numbers can represent characters. Octal 103, which is Decimal 67, which is also Binary 1000011 and Hexdecimal 43 is a capital C. In fact if you press the Alt key on your keyboard, type the decimal 67 and let go of the Alt key, you'll get... a capital C.

You'll be unsurprised to learn that octal 104 is a capital D, and so on.

Now. Here's where it gets fun.

Up in the top left you have 104 103 114 in a spider web. That translates from octal to text as DCL. D is the Roman Numeral 500, C is 100, and L is 50.

104 103 114 = DCL = 500+100+50 = 650. Spider.

104 103 114 130 126 and the "long tailed" graph translates to DCLXV, or 675. Long Tail.

That leaves us with 104 103 130 130 Rx350. That's DCXX (620)R, of which McLaren made 350 examples.

I give it a couple of hours before the loud voices in the fanbase move on from the 765/Mach E/620R to complaining about the next "insert super/hypercar/JDM car here" not being included.
I would've expected a Road Warrior pop for the 765LT, considering how requested it was.

As usual, the vast majority of the community seems to be set in the belief that the car Horizon needs the most is the one PGG hasn't included yet. I expect the discourse to turn to "FH5 doesn't have the F8 Tributo, what the **** is Playground doing" in nothing flat.

I'm not sure what you mean by wheelspin meta. I'm just talking about winning duplicate cars from wheelspins or doing the weekly playlist.

Ah, my bad, then. I thought the S13 might be the new Cayman/Trans-Am where people buy them to get the wheelspins and then dump them.

Oh, gotcha. Yeah, I was just trying to think of a fairly common low-value car.

When I get gifted low value cars I usually get rid of them. But if it's something more valuable that I already have, like the CLK GTR I got gifted yesterday, I usually just re-gift it to new players.

Okay. Here's what I can dig from today's Let's Go stream:
  • Series 7 will be a Cinco De Mayo-themed update, so for sure, world decorations could appear. The possibility of one of the added cars of that update would be related to the number 5 may be little to none (around 0.4% imo; possibly the 2018 RS5 or 512S)
  • Expansion 1 is still being worked on, but with the dinosaur references over the past few streams, it may be tied to the new Jurassic World movie. It could come by summer. Tom mentions "Talking about that soon, but not today"
  • Doge, toast with mustache and diamond are badges obtained from playing Horizon Open
  • More Horizon Tour events would come (up to 300 kinds of Tour combinations)
  • Dirty air physics is retuned in this update
  • Ray tracing during livery editor now won't crash
  • Weekly Forzathons won't reset anymore
  • S2 Horizon Tour will be available in Series 7
  • Eventlab prop count may increase, until it probably hits a memory limit
  • Horizon Open XP exists (Secretly Ranked Adventure???)

I wonder if they decided to put it in the shop at the very last minute, as a minor dig at GT and its disastrous catastrophe :P
I just got done rewatching the stream with sound as I was at work when it first came out, and Mike Brown's body language as he says it's only 700 points basically gives away they've done it on purpose last minute.

Edit: GT-R Nismo isn't particularly good, is it just me?

I could see that coming with some vehicles from the movies (or at least stock ones that formed the basis of them)...

...and maybe a few with dinosaur-inspired names?

Question but what's the best way to earn money currently? I have around 5 million or so.

I just bought one and gifted it to a new player. We should all do that. My hope is they will be claimed by disgruntled GT7 players. “I’ve gotta grind for months to get this in GT7 but they’re just giving them away for free in FH5!”

More Tour events and ranked online play was exactly what I wanted in order to get back playing again. I will be back once the new season starts. Also what is the Gran Turismo reference? I haven't really been paying attention since GT7 came out but I will again now.

The mention of Cinco de Mayo for S7 is interesting. Since it's a celebration of Mexican culture I wonder if that could be the debut of the Super Beetle and the Caddy.
Was there a Super Beetle ever mentioned in the game files, as well as a Cadillac of some sort?

The way I got the 620R answer was 350 X R, due to the fact that the 620R only had 350 units.
Yes, and a VW Caddy, not Cadillac.
How was the Volkswagen Caddy popular in Mexico? Is it the Type 14 Caddy?
