Just wanna mention, you can also have Photo Mode assigned to a button on your controller in the settings options, so you can activate it while you're driving without having to dig through the menu. I have mine set to D-pad Up, for instance.Photo Mode has been frustrating over the past couple games. In the first three games, it was super easy. Just hit pause and there was photo mode. They took it out of the pause menu completely for the last game. It’s back but buried deep in the pause menu for this game. Worse, in a strange, Quality-of-Life affecting bug that PG seem to have no intention of fixing, you can’t photograph a car with the wheels turned. Or can you? Yes you can. I figured out how to do it through rigorous testing and experiment- Ha Ha no. I looked it up on Reddit like everyone else. But I don’t recall it being discussed here, so for the two or three people who haven’t figured it out ahead of me, here’s how you do it.
First, enter solo mode. This won’t work in Horizon Life. Go do your crazy drifting or whatever, then rewind to before the shot you want to take. Instead of hitting “resume from here”, hit replay. Pause at the moment you want to photograph. Now you select “take a picture” and it’s photo mode like normal except your car has its wheels turned like a real car and everything. It’s a big dumb workaround for a problem that shouldn’t even exist, but at least the workaround is there.

Otherwise, full agreement on everything else, especially having to dip out of Horizon Life to take proper action shots. I'm also annoyed that you can't save your custom photomode setting(s) and have them available as a preset. Seems like a really obvious QoL upgrade imo.
