The new Mosler is OK but it doesn't beat the MT900S for me. That car is so much fun to drive stock. I needed a tuned Huayra to beat the pack in Goliath though.
I've actually put a racing V8 inside that thing, and since has become my weapon of choice for certain events like my NIO EP9. The stock version did have grip, but it was too slow. Now it flies! :)

Oh, and thank goodness the two bugged achievements have finally been unlocked, but means my game is achievement free again. :D I wonder if the next expansion is going to come out this holiday season? I mean, Forza Motorsport is pretty much coming out in spring next year. I wonder if PG will tease it and release it maybe in January 2023? I dunno, but I'm curious. 🤔

It really frustrates me with some of these Weekly Events where the restrictions exclude most of the car type. This weeks Street Scene event with the B Class Modern Sports Car excludes most of the cars in that type. All the rest are A-Class or S1 class stock. I have a bunch of cars that I would like to use but can't because I've upgraded them or they far out of limit. This seems to be a recurring theme too as there have been many other instances.

It is...insanely hilarious to me how much I genuinely despise racing in Horizon since, what, 3? This is the worst offender by far with the blatant denial of physics on behalf of the AI; they're simply able to do everything better than you. Launch off the line doing 120, can maintain speed if not go faster than you through the same hazards/obstacles, and their grip/brake levels exceed your own.

And I'm not even talking about Hot Wheels. That's been great for the most part. I was scrambling to do the seasonal activities to get the Porsche, and shy of three points I had to call it quits. Showcase Remix, easiest thing ever, right? The AI literally squeezes me out of position as we're on the main straight into the stadium and onto the finish line. I was literally cheated out of a win.

This is why I treat every AI race like a demolition derby and I hate it. Whatever. Back to HW to have fun.

The thing about the showcases is that there is no AI, they're just animated objects moving around you as you drive with no actual physics. They have a path to follow, and will push anything out of their way to do so. I seem to recall there is a part near the end of that one where one of the monster trucks switches sides, and in the Baja BS you can be fast enough to get in its way - unintuitively, if you just lift off briefly and let it do what it's doing, both of them will slow down before the finish line to allow you to win.

In the Showcase Remix I had the AI punt me so hard in the early part of the race it spun me a full 360°. I didn’t rewind, I just kept going. The monster trucks drove slow enough that I was able to easily catch them up. On the final run into the stadium, they slowed down and I got the win. Just like in FH4, I believe there is a sort of reverse rubber band effect in all Showcases, Remix included. Instead of the AI catching up to you, you catch up to the AI.

Ok but why quit? As far as I know you don't need to do any race for 20 points.

2 Rivals 8 pts
2 PR stunts 4 pts
treasure hunt 3 pts
collectables. 3 pts
photo challenge 2 pts

Rivals is 1 point each. Don't know why it still reads as awarding us 4.

Don't have PR stunts unlocked yet. Taking my sweet time with Hot Wheels.

Not doing treasure hunt.

Not doing collectibles either.

Photo challenges can be jank at times and I am, or rather was, aggravated enough.

-----

I went back in and got the last couple of points I needed by doing the remix, so all is calm.

Mike Brown mentioned once that players who don't do collectables don't deserve to collect all the cars either. And someone had to model those batteries just for you!! Show some appreciation! 🤣
Mike would hate to see my garage count; if I could delete the Barn Finds I would, but even with all of them my entire collection is.... 30 cars.

1 car per class and surface type pretty much.

Related, here's a thing:

I completely agree. It is most apparent on the Offroad races. AI cars seem to take turns with no centrifugal force, and I have to slow in order to avoid the walls. Also on jumps, my suspension bottoms out and they take the jump with no slowdown what so ever. I get that developers are trying to make the game more difficult. But I have been playing Forza since it was created almost 20 years ago, and other games like GT and NFS before that. I'm not saying I'm an "expert" driver. But why do things "have to be" so insanely difficult. It's my goal to have an experience to relax after a long and trying day. Not to be frustrated to the point of throwing things across the room or shouting obscenities so loud as to upset my cute downstairs neighbor.

I agree with you guys.
I prefer off-road racing to circuit racing and one of the main reasons I play the FH series was dirt/cross country racing.
However, the off-road racing in FH5, and cross country for that matter, is not as fun as in past series.

AI rubber banding existed before FH5, but it was more modest.
Rubber banding in FH5's cross country races is more than I can tolerate.
It use a rocket engine on the straights and turns like an X-class downforce monster on the corners. And the jumps are always perfect. And of course, it is invincible against water and obstacles, like a heavy tank.

I can beat them, but it is no fun when their injustice is so blatant.
To use an analogy, it's like playing against a cowardly cheater instead of a skilled player.

Huh. Traffic cars correctly register in photo mode now. Was that recently fixed?

Trial. Cathedral Circuit. Good grief it's a brand new kind of flustercuck.

The AI is absolutely useless around there in unupgraded A-Class cars, and god have mercy on your soul if you don't have competent teammates, which let's be honest you probably won't have 90% of the time, like the dude I had on my team who's obviously a cheater with his 10 star prestige level 2999 bone stock Mustang.

I really wish there was a proper way to report those players either to PG or Microsoft directly, and that actions could be taken towards permabanning them or something along those lines.

I 100% agree. But in the meantime, I take solace in the fact that my life isn’t so empty and devoid of meaning that I feel forced to cheat at a video game to feel better about myself.

I really wish the game remembered where I was when I left off. Since about 2 days after the HW DLC released I have had no reason to go back as I have done everything yet the game loads me up into the HW map everytime I start it. Not a big deal I know but I'm sure FH3/4 remembered where you were.

My Trial adventure this week included a teammate attempting to ram my fatass fifth gen Z/28 with their C5 Corvette and bouncing off of me to find themselves face first in a building about 3 corners into the race, then getting rammed out of a checkpoint by some knob in a Lambo, after which they spammed "checkpoint!" and "see you at the finish line!" quick chats... Which admittedly is a little funny if it wasn't a team game and if I hadn't managed to catch up to them at the end anyways. They then tried to brake check me headed to the finish line, and when I started to swerve to avoid they turned into me, spinning themselves across my nose and I pushed them across the line, but the game gave me the position ahead of them anyways.

Got to the second race and the geniuses were bouncing off of each other all the way around the track, and somehow we still dominated.

Part of me is disappointed they decided to make the Trial an absolute joke difficulty-wise, but the other part of me is relieved I don't have to suffer through the morons for multiple attempts and can just get it over with easy now.

I really hope that the guys at PG aren't so sick of working on this game that they come home and play it from time to time, only have to similar experiences.

Take screenshots and submit a ticket on the Forza support website. I've done it twice now for two different reasons. Both tickets went under investigation immediately.

I know from being on a few Facebook groups with modders, that they are banning people with modded and/or hacked accounts. I don't do it personally, I just watch the drama when karma kicks in.

I think the problem is exacerbated by the AI; the 'Unbeatable' AI in the Trial are completely different to the Unbeatable AI in regular races, not that they're difficult as you say, but that they just flat out ram and block you to stop you passing. Given that most people playing the Trial don't seem to be... observant (for lack of a better term), I honestly think those players just think everyone is the AI that are split across teams, so they ram everyone without penalty. Either that, or they're just hopelessly selfish. Still stupid regardless.

I alluded in a message a while back that I've been fairly lucky with Trials, but yesterday was the first where I nearly had to reattempt. The only reason I didn't is that the rammers causing problems all dropped out in the third race, so the remaining team members just scraped by.

I think the problem is the game makes no effort to promote respectful driving or a sporting attitude in the first place. Only the barest of information and a token effort to discern AI from players (all AI drivers are surnames or Horizon Story characters, e.g., Alejandra, El Campeón, etc.).

I love FH but I do not love the average Horizon player. They are either slow, incompetent, and ram-happy, or they are aliens with alien tunes, pulling away with no hope of competition. It's very rare for me to find players who are the right combo of skilled and respectful enough.

To go along with the trend there was a terrible driver in my Trail going full send into every corner with no discretion for who he was heading for. Obviously he was in a Boneshaker... I got off to the usual quick starts to avoid the melee so didnt suffer much myself once I was past the first corner.

The worst I've seen was while watching @quadro40k Youtube video on the Trail he posted. The guy in his lobby was quite something to behold.

I was excited for the Extreme E cars, but I think they're bugged? I know they're electric and everything, but they're completely silent, especially on the hood camera. I drove the Rimac in the last season and that car had some nice motor sounds. In comparison, the Extreme E felt like I was in the vacuum of space. If this is expected behavior, then that's awful

Tbh, I haven't had that many problems with other players in the Trials. Usually they're terrible and crash into the first turn or whatever so I just give them a wide berth and drive around them pretty easily. You do sort of have to drive defensively, but it's not terrible. I usually end up top two with another player that's pretty good and we would have a nice race together. The AI on the other hand is atrocious. I always end up rear ending them in high speed corners or they swerve into me on straights. It's truly awful and incredibly annoying to race againsy
