Assuming Stellantis cars does come back, I strongly, strongly hope they are added to Autoshow.

I hate exclusive car system and playlists, but more serious is the number of cars I already own in my car collection.
I basically only own one car of one type, with the exception of a few favorites, and I sell any unnecessary autoshow cars immediately.
But still, I already have over 900 cars in my garage.
If dozens more Stellantis are added there as exclusive cars, it is inevitable that they will squeeze my garage space.
Unless they further increase the limit of cars I can own with the update, my garage will soon reach the limit.

Whereas I'm definitely not too bowled over with the new update contents I prefer not to complain like a lot of others. They said we will be getting a double "large" christmas update so I don't mind a quiet month if that update is going to make up for it.

Also hopefully those rumours and reports that Alfa (and hopefully other Stellantis brands) are finally coming are true.
What rumours? Did I miss something?

People really want a thing -> People dig for anything that suggests it might happen

We've seen their cars in pre-release footage (later edited out in most cases) and they're in the credits. That's about it, really.

The fact that they were in pre-release footage suggests it was probably not content held back for the future, but a licensing deal gone wrong. Of course, in the age of GAAS, I could be wrong.

Here is the compilation of clips as seen on Forza's YouTube channel:

Here is the version given out to YouTubers before release:

The Lancia Stratos is missing from the official upload (except for the 2 frames the editor missed).

Oh I thought he was referring to a new rumour.

Although bringing up the whole Stratos situation again got me thinking -

Has there ever been a situation in any other racing game where a whole manufacturer was shown off pre-release - only to not even feature in the final product?

From memory there might have been snippets of Porsches spotted in FH2/FH3 before release, Volkswagen in FH3 and same with Mitsubishi in FH4

Though outside of FH, this doesn't seem to be an issue (unless I'm forgetting something obvious)

Lotus in GT Sport is another. For some reason, even though its about 10 years later, I do also distinctly remember seeing a Mosler and a couple of Renaults (a Twingo and Megane) in early E3 gameplay videos of the first Horizon. Whether that was a licencing dispute or they were just placeholders is unknown, but they've always just stuck in my mind.

GT3's JGTC Diablo is a slightly weird variant where it made release but got shafted after the Japanese version. Other than that, I'm struggling to think of any. I think the conglomeration of lots of car brands has made licencing more of an issue in the past few years, something which Horizon gets caught in the crossfire of as it releases fairly frequently compared to a lot of other racing games.

It's not just the Mitsubishis that were left out of FH4 at launch - there were several others like a '71 Falcon XY and a '95 Mustang among them. They never returned. So did the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and the Shelby Raptor. Shame because I liked those cars.

If and when Stellantis' Italian cars do show up I do agree they need to be Autoshow-only. It really grinds my gears seeing old cars return as drip-fed content and not bothering to put them into the Autoshow. That's my main gripe with FH5.

certified bruh moment

Is it me or did the update add an unconscionable amount of render latency? I'm hovering around 77-84ms with v-sync on.

Turning RT down from extreme back to high didn't fix anything. Disabling v-sync helps for all of 10 seconds, then it returns to 77-84ms (if not higher). DLAA has some insane shimmering and was turned off immediately. Haven't messed around with DLSS or FSR much yet.

Some settings have been moved to video settings from graphics

DLAA with 0.5 (default sharpness) with same settings at 1080p. It has apparently the same effect as dsr, on the image but not the ui (as you can see my RTSS readout on the top left). It replaces MSAA.

1440p FSR 2.2 Quality
89.1 FPS AVG

1667928056161.png

To sum it up FPS wise

FSR Ultra Performance (107.4)
DLSS Ultra Performance (98.1)
DLAA 1080p (95.8)
FSR Quality (89.1)
DLSS Quality (86.7)
DSR Stock 4x MSAA (75.4)

I'd say DLSS struggles with thin elements like power lines and edges with bright background (eg. building edges against the sun).
FSR also struggles with the same, but more on the power lines. It also struggles with writings/alphabets (checkpoints and building boards) as well as the arrow boards placed in corners during a race.

On quality mode both are comparable and barely distinguishable (except for more "artifacty" power cables and letters). Ultra Performance on both makes them a smudgy mess and look like a water color painting.

For Image quality I would say:
DSR
DLAA
Quality (DLSS=FSR, maybe edge to DLSS)
DLSS Ultra Performance
FSR Ultra Performance

MY choice will be DLAA 1080p as I play on a 1080p monitor with enough headroom on my gpu to push resolution and also because I'm happy to stay at 72fps (Can't tell much difference in higher frame rate)
This obviously will depend on personal preference, and hardware differences like monitor resolution and headroom (and obv. high frame rate vs. graphic quality).

Oh and also small things i noticed while running benchmarks regarding RT (on extreme atleast):

SORRY ABOUT THE POOR PHONE PICS, DIDN"T WANNA SCREENSHOT WHILE IT WAS BENCHMARKING> IT WILL SAY BENCHMARK INTERRUPTED SOMETIMES

Mirrors reflecting body, and the body reflecting the mirrors.

For those that say DLSS performance gains are lackluster.
Even the basic Resolution Scaling before had a surpricingly low impact on overall performance from my testing, but DLSS does provide a much better image quality then the old Resolution Scaling options.

I have an RTX 2080 Super and a 4K 144hz monitor. I used the "Balanced" resolution scaling before. Now I can use the "Performance" Setting with DLSS and turn Ray Tracing to "Extreme" and still get the same framerate with better image quality then before.

Back with some numbers after many benchmark runs.

RTX 2080 Super with my preferred Graphics settings that I've been using for a while. Differences being AA and Resolution Scaling settings. Plus I have enabled "Extreme" quality Ray Tracing for these test.

Native 4K No AA: 57FPS

Native 4K + TAA: 53FPS

FX CAS No AA: 80FPS Because FX CAS does not include it's own AA like FSR and DLSS this option looks terrible.

FX CAS + TAA: 79FPS 41.5% FPS gain over Native 4K+TAA

FSR 2.2: 66FPS 24.5% FPS gain over Native 4K+TAA

DLSS: 66FPS 24.5% FPS gain over Native 4K+TAA

FX CAS offers the best performance gains, but looks far softer then FSR or DLSS

FSR 2.2 and DLSS offer the same performance numbers, But DLSS offered a slightly sharper image.

I have seen some nice gains also

Theres‘s some new Donut Media clothing. Two t-shirts, two baseball hats, and a jumper, hoodie, and a bomber jacket.

This cracks me up. It’s a hood delete, yet it’s branded C-West. But what are they branding? There’s no hood to brand. And how much are they charging for that hood that doesn’t exist?
