Slower entry but way faster exit speed. There’s a few Street routes where you can do this, normally 90 degree turns with a lot of space on entry.
I've heard of tryhard lines where you venture off track for a better approach angle but I didn't realise it could make this much difference. I bet your opponents were either seething or pissing themselves depending on how well they know you.

The latter in my case, I’m the guy in the Hammer who passed him just as he left the road. :D

He tends to run the Meta choices to be the weekly benchmark to whatever the rest of us at CRM has built for any given week.

Mind you, there’s a pretty good trick I learnt from him on Las Ranas Cross Country on the final jump. Don’t go full yeet off it in the faster cars, if you go off it a little slower and land on the downhill slope, you can carry more momentum through to the final stretch than going off the jump, landing at the bottom and losing nearly all your momentum upon landing. ;)

@Vic Reign93 was right behind me and I think he tries that line every time now 😅

“Sweaty Horizon” is fun, more people should try it as the game’s handling feels so good when you properly push it.

It’s part of my philosophy with anything competitive. If I use the best tools possible (or the ones I can get the best results from) and still lose, I know that I am the problem and need to get better. Just removing one variable on the road to success 🙂

I'm not entirely sure what the Saleen F-150 brings to the game that isn't already covered by Raptors and Lightnings and DeBertis and Hennesseys.
I think the '07 S331 Supercharged would've been a better choice to break the constant stream of current-gen reskins.

They have an obsession with the F-Series that is only rivaled by PD's obsession with GT-Rs and MX-5s.
The F-Series are the most popular truck in Mexico as well IIRC, so would make sense to add different trims.

As someone who keeps his cars close to stock all the time--the Saleen F-150 is meant to fill the role of an actual race-tuned pickup. Most of the others in its category, even when you slap offroad tires on 'em, feel very weak in the power and acceleration department--you have to go looking in the Unlimited Offroad category (and look at the trophy trucks) to find pickups that actually have real pull when you hit the gas. The Saleen, though, revs hard and fast--out of all the stock Pickups and 4x4s, even with offroad tires, this one has the highest PI in its class. It feels like it should be in the Unlimited Offroad category--but it isn't.

Ugh. The DM cars are listed as "Doughnut Media 350Z Low Car" and "Doughnut Media 350Z High Car" - the latter of which has two errors in it.

Edit: Oh my word the errors in the subtitling! :yuck:

I'm going to try something new for the Season Change article this week. Please let me know if it's helpful or not.

^ That is partly why grinding for the 10,000,000 Credits spent there is so agonising. Going through cars one by one is slow as hell as that filtering system does nothing.

I loaded the game a bit ago to check out the update, and the voice acting was trying. I've not seen the Donut Media videos, and the last Donut story was mercifully brief (when I finally got around to it). But more Donut content after the truck focus, incoming Barbie models with another version of the Hummer EV, is challenging my decision to not add more negativity to the internet.

Ah, but at least I got to tool around in a Golf MkII and take a photo in a Focus to find a treasure. (That's not sarcasm; I like tooling around in hot hatches).

Also, I think "doughnut" is the best spelling of the round sugary foodstuff thing. Dang, I haven't even eaten one in four years now.

The story mode this time was embarassingly bad and I hated just about every second if it.
The only thing worse is your character parroting their catchphrases with the same level of fake enthusiasm as everything else in the game.

That said, I did like the very small attention to detail of having the temp gauge rise as the Lo Z overheats; I feel as though PG are quietly testing out improving the little details in the cockpit here and I’m all for that.

They could have the 3rd story play in the rally expansion map and they can promote it that way.
I don't think Playground would want to block off live service content to folks who don't own the Rally Expansion. It'd force folks to spend money on the thing sure, but I would think they'd prefer all the new Horizon Stories to stay on the Mexico map if they can help it.

For anyone grinding the 10 million credits spent badge, the GT R Black Series erroneously has a V12 swap that costs 900,000 credits. One of the devs over on Reddit has already said they’re aware of it and looking to patch it shortly, so I’d do that ASAP if you’re interested in knocking out a huge chunk of that.
