It'd be a shame if "what it is" isn't "a car which can be used in a variety of gameplay situations, thus helping to broaden and enrich the Horizon experience".

It's a lot easier to make a slow car capable of racing in higher classes than stock than to make a fast car usable in lower classes in a game which doesn't have ballast as a tuning/building option. If that fast car's intended to be used only in specialist scenarios, then it had damned well better be competitive in those scenarios if it's not going to spend most of its time unused in players' virtual garages.

I'm just speaking generally and not saying any of this necessarily applies to the Trans-Am as I haven't tried it yet.
I completely understand this point of view. If I had to pick a good use for the Stock Hot Wheels Trans Am I'd say Drift zones. I personally had a lot of fun driving it and I bet some better tuners than myself could easily turn it into a real racing beast.

Played Forza Horizon 1, 2, and 4 recently, and driving some of the cars in those games made me wish we had them in Forza Horizon 5. Cars such as:

  • 2011 Aston Martin V12 Zagato (Villa d'Este)
  • 2013 Audi S4
  • 1952 Hudson Hornet Club
  • 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo
  • 2014 Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept
  • 2018 Kia Stinger GT
  • 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged
  • 2009 Lexus IS F
  • 2000 Lotus 340R
  • 2004 Mazda RX-8 Mazdaspeed
  • 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG
  • 2012 Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG
  • 1965 MG MGB GT
  • 2018 Morgan Aero GT
  • 2010 Morgan Aero SuperSports
  • 2014 Nissan IDx Nismo Concept
  • 1963 Opel Kadett A
  • 2017 RAM 1500 Rebel TRX Concept
  • 2016 Spania GTA Spano

Gifting was a thing in the Xbox 360 era, it was great, especially the sharing of open source tunes and liveries.

It also lead to a black market where people were exchanging real money for rare cars.
Yeah I remember that and I understand why they had to put a stop to gifting... But still, 2 or 3 each a week wouldn't hurt.

On another note I can't believe that we still can't get multiples of the Barnfinds. I'd really appreciate being able to have more than one F4O Comp, Escort MK1 and especially Carrera RS.

I am very excited about GMC Jimmy and Renault 4 and dreamed of owning multiple of these cars with different tunes and liveries.
But I only have one of them in my garage...

I forget when it was, but you could unlock a 2nd Jimmy for doing Super7 closer to launch. Correct me if I am wrong, because I very well might be!

We got the XJR-15 from Super7 close after launch. It's the only duplicate I have since you can't gift, sell or delete it. It doesn't bother me really but still, what is the reason not allowing to auction those cars. I can't think of any.

It's probably to keep the playlist from getting stuck.
Around the time of FH4, they created playlist challenges several times for these Career Mode Reward Cars, and there were complaints that these challenges could not be completed.

But I think a smarter solution would be "unlocked carrier reward cars will be added to the auto show" or "don't offer challenges that require reward cars in the first place".

There was apparently an exploit near launch where the option to buy cars from the Collection screen was only disabled once you started moving the cursor, so the first car for any given manufacturer could be bought. That included the Jimmy, 4L, and DMC12, but was patched fairly quickly.

Naively I would have said that every person that owned more than one from the auction house would mean one player who can never complete the car collection, but you only need to have owned the car at any point for it to be ticked off. If they applied the same rule to Hot Wheels prizes then maybe I'd have said it was something scarcity-related like that, but I think you can freely auction the Schuppan etc.

I’d gladly give away mine if the game allowed me to.

I don’t like having cars in my garage that I never use, and that’s what over half of the Barn Finds are to me.

Fortunately the Jag is a meta car in S1 and possibly S2, so you can get some use out of it.

Good list bud, but I'd add the Weissman MF5 to it.

In an ideal world we'd have every car from past Horizon games, along with the new ones found in the files, but alas, garage limit and licencing. Hard to say what will return and what won't, but there is certainly plenty to pull from. I mentioned in an earlier post, the only one I'm desperately missing is the MC12 road car. Anything else is just a welcome bonus at this stage.

This is true. My absolute desperate inclusion would be the Weismann MF5, all though the Saab 99 Turbo runs it close

What I want is for all Stellantis models to be added to the autoshow.

why? It's because of the number of cars I have in my garage.
990 cars are already in sight. What if a Stellantis model was released in the same way Toyota in FH4? ...My garage would fill up quickly.

There are (i think) 730 cars in the game right now. PGG (and T10) should really have a 3-5x the capacity in the saves. This should also be the case for tunes and liveries. I'm not sure how FM7 handled this limit (i only had about 200, mostly was just renting cars). FM moving to an online save system should, in theory, remove the save backup file size limits that apparently was restricting them from making big changes to the capacity for tunes, cars and liveries.

The only time the 1000 limit made sense was on launch day, when there were 526 cars.

There are a few things they could do to ease the garage size problem without making the limit higher:

1. There is a bug, which was also in FH4, where when you get a wheelspin after doing the Trial, and win a car, it doesn't allow you to take the money instead if you already own the car (unlike wheelspins elsewhere in the game), so you gradually acquire duplicate cars. Fixing this would help a little bit. I'm not sure, but this bug might also affect wheelspins earned when you do some other things such as Horizon Open, I haven't done those enough to notice.

2. The playlist should show for all reward cars whether you already own the car or not (like the forzathon shop already does), and also the ways that the car can be obtained normally, like the car collection screen does. This would make it easier to avoid acquiring duplicates of autoshow cars, though I think maybe all playlist reward cars apart from the ones for 20 and 40 points each week and for 80 and 160 for the 4 weeks might be autoshow cars. I have checked the reward cars each week, and can't recall seeing any that aren't autoshow cars, but it might as well be made clear so people can just avoid doing those playlist activities, safe in the knowledge it will only give them a useless duplicate autoshow car.

3. The garage should have a way to filter to show only autoshow cars so we can easily go through them deleting duplicates or even our only copy of cars we don't care about, as we can always just buy another one if we ever find we need it.

Tunes were even more of a nightmare for me in FH4 than copies of cars, as you're more likely to have several tunes per car when you're downloading them and trying them out. Again this could be assisted with garage features such as being able to filter to show only cars where you have more than x tunes, so you can find the ones with the most tunes and delete some of them.

In an ideal world, we'd love to see those brands back. Sadly licensing will, as always, be a nightmare. Weismann might return, but SAAB is dead and the rights are pretty much nonexistent. The last game to feature licensed SAAB products was Forza Motorsport 4 in 2011 - the exact year SAAB was history.

Sad but true bud.😥

Regarding 1., I don't think it's a bug, most of the time, you don't get the option to choose between selling or keeping a duplicate car when you happen to be doing something that's time-sensitive, like opening a wheelspin between online races. That does include the Trial, even. If you were to linger in the menu that lets you choose between these options while everyone else wants to race, it'd either delay the other players or just kick you out. I think a solution to that is to let the menu appear but with a 15-second timer that defaults to "take the duplicate car" if you don't select anything.

On 2, no complaints.

About 3., definitely agree. I think they should get rid of the silly Common/Uncommon/Rare/Epic/Legendary MMO rarity nonsense and use that slot to tell us whether a car is Autoshow, Festival Playlist, Barn Find, and whatnot.

Especially since it's all over the place. The McLaren GT is listed as common and the latest Focus RS is listed as epic...

Even 5 seconds would be fine. People who have a problem with their garage being full will want to sell virtually any car they could ever get from a wheelspin. Maybe there are a small number of wheelspin cars that can be sold at a higher price via the AH, but the same people probably also don't care enough about credits to want to do that either. I think in the specific case of the Trial, the wheelspin is only given at the end of the whole series of races anyway, so no other player will be kept waiting.

I don't really get the problem. You can remove any car you like from garage (except barn finds) from the menu... Sure, you don't get any money but at least you free up the slot. Is that such a problem?

Carrier reward cars? 🤔 💡
I guess that might increase the storage limit... ;)

I'd be very disappointed if Stellantis models were drip-fed like Toyota was in FH4.

I think since these brands were cut so last minute before release (of course the infamous Stratos sound video comes to mind here), that a FH4 like selection of models should be pretty easy to get ready for release, not drip fed over months.

It would just be question of if PG puts them in the Autoshow, or puts them as a free car pack (free into everyones garage) with some extra models being distributed during the playlist.

Something like;

Italian Automotive Car Pack/Autoshow Update - 17
2017 Abarth 124 Spider
2016 Abarth 695 Biposto
1980 Abarth Fiat 131
1968 Abarth 595 esseesse
2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio
2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde
2014 Alfa Romeo 4C
2007 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
1992 Alfa Romeo 155 Q4
1968 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2
1980 FIAT 124 Sport Spider
1992 Lancia Delta HF Integrale EVO
1986 Lancia Delta S4
1982 Lancia 037 Stradale
1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale
1968 Lancia Fulvia Coupé Rallye 1.6 HF

I think these 17 Stellantis models are pretty much the list of models found in the files in FH5 that were obviously cut for launch

Festival Playlist - 5
2023 Abarth 500E Scorpionissima or the 2021 Abarth 695 Competizione
2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm
1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA Stradale
1934 Alfa Romeo P3
1969 FIAT Dino 2.4 Coupe

I think this would be a pretty reasonable prediction (maybe a little optimistic) and I'd be very happy with this selection to start off with. We'll see what happens though.

It takes considerable time to find duplicate cars and look them up one by one on a website to establish they are autoshow cars and can therefore safely be deleted.
