* I can't believe I'm saying this, but it took some time for me to get adjusted to the Forza series as a whole. A lot of us hated it because it wasn't as much of eye-candy as Gran Turismo 4, or anything like that. * I had interest in playing Forza as a demo. I sampled a lot of the cars and loved the Acura NSX and Porsche 911 in Forza's demo. I laughed at all the GTPlanet folk who said that this game had better AI than GT4 simply because I've been whacked into and knocked off the road at times. I did admit that the AI was competitive. Nowhere was that more apparent than when I raced with the Race cars in the Forza demo. I eventually won with the beautiful Ferrari 333SP before having a bit more success elsewhere. I covered the X-Play review on Forza and thought that people liked that game only for for the online play and damage. * But there was actually a lot more for me to learn. It wasn't until I took a trip to a Sears store at Baybrook Mall in Webster, TX, USA. I had a chance to play this retail version for some time. I've sampled with everything from road racing to the touge battles. I applauded Alpine Hills Raceway as it was a wonderful original race track. I considered Blue Mountain Raceway and even Tokyo Circuit as two immensely challenging courses. I hated Blue Mountains Raceway in saying that Bathurst (the track it's based on) is much better than this design. * I thought the physics were pretty good in my playing and had appreciation for some of the race cars available. * Then upon the one-year anniversary of this game's release in stores, I noted that the Forza crew (now called "Turn 10") did a great job with this game. The Forza crew has respect for Gran Turismo and wanted to create a GT-type game that XBOX players can enjoy. Almost any game with XBOX Live is sure to be a hit even if the rest of the game is crap. A lot was done to make the game shine for gamers alike. * Then with the coming of Forza Motorsport 2, I can honestly say that this will be a chance for Forza to really shine as a franchise and as a game to challenge Gran Turismo for racing game supremacy (I'm talking about in terms of consoles, so no "GTR" or "rFactor" comments).
