I felt the same thing while playing Gears of War and R6 : Vegas! The medium difficulty - HardCore / Normal, was comparetively easy and the highest difficulty - Insane / Realistic was just insanely hard (possible to beat, eventually though, but really frustrating).. But I always kinda hoped there was something in between those 2, you know.. And that's exactly what'll happen in FM2. I find medium a bit too easy, I just gave AI a 20 second headstart and in the last lap I won with 5 seconds or so in front, this with some of my lowest possible times (mistakes and passing the ai slowed me down, yet i didnt even feel threatened at all).

PS - OT question: How do you embed a YouTube video on forums?
Another OT question: Can someone tell me how to capture videos from consoles? (X360 / PS3), HD and non HD?

Thanks YSSMAN, for the info.

Can you tell me what are these cables called? I'd rather capture it on my computer, than on VCR, coz eventually that's where I'll edit and stuff.

you need a videocard that has a video input. You use a regular video cable or component (if compatible) and plug your box into the vid card. Then you use whatever capturing program you want and make videos.

I am using an iMac that has no video input, sadly, but I also have a MacBook Pro (which my Dad uses), on which I am sure there's a videocard that has a video input.. I can capture with FRAPS, right?

vvv (for the post below) :- Cool, Thanks anyways RedOak! And ofcourse YSSMAN..

Do you have a digital camcorder? I'm almost certain that you can run the cables through the video-out/audio-out ports on your TV (or the 360) onto the Camera. I know my Dad's Sony can do that (I've done it before), and I know that you can dump the video off of the camera to the computer using a slightly different cable set.

There is a pretty fancy Sony camcorder that I've seen that is pretty much drag-and-drop with the HDD, and I believe that can record out of the TV...

Yeah, I have a Sony HandyCam - DCR DVD908! It records on a MiniDVD unfortunately. But I'll give your idea a try.. Ummm.. but....., what am I supposed to do here?! :P
The Camera has a Video In too?? Lemme check!

EDIT - Nope, just checked, only A/V out..

So how are the physics anyway? I know they been mentioned , but still , with all aids off and everything does it feel like a real sim or do we have another simish-arcade console game here. There is no way I ll ever invest in the current excuse for a wheel , is the controller even passable?

It's about 90% sim, 10% arcade. There appears to be things like drifting, (while harder than FM1), that are still easier than real life.

oh, i was just wondering what the square metal ring thing around the tip was.

thought we might have been able to change tip's:(

How do you get logo's like the Xbox Front logo on your car? Do you transfer images from your PC onto your Xbox and go from there?
If you want any custom logo on your car like an Xbox 360 logo, then you will need to create it in the livery editor.

i think the Microsoft and Xbox360 logos will be included in the game. Turn10 is owned by Microsoft after all.

I was thinking about putting my friends company logo down the side of my car, how would I do that? Would I have to draw it from scratch? Would it be difficult to do so?

You would need to do it from scratch, however the amount of time or how difficult it will be for you, depends on how complex it is.

You get a selection shapes that you can manipulate and create logos and such from thoes, it's not that difficult once you've got your first couple out the way.

Speaking of logos and such, wasn't Forza supposed to let you create decals on your PC and transfer them to your car? Or did that idea get canned?

I think they got rid of that idea for the same reason as to why you can't upload GT pictures from the computer.

As for trying to get into the 1:03s in the M3, I've finally done it with a 1:03.828. Weird thing was that I wasn't giving enough steering input in corners - I just don't feel as much confidence in the car compared to any other game I've driven with a wheel.

Whoa, KSaiyu, thats' increadible man, 1:03 is totally insane.. (BRAVO)!!
I dont use steering wheel, so that tip is not useful for me, anything else you'd like to share? :P

BTW, a good 6 page interview of Dan Greenawalt. Don't think this has been posted b4 though : http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/788/788628p1.html

Although, nothing that we don't already know... But still interesting to read, if you got the time..

BTW, does anybody know, if in Online races, will we be able to see who has the best laptime for that race? (not just your best, but the race best?).
It'd be good if they show realtime sector times of the cars in front and / or behind u, too, like when you see in F1 and other races on TV.. Although that I am sure won't happen. But I am curious to know about the Best Race Laptime and who holds it!//

heh the top C class are mid-late 1:02s at the moment, and while I may be using a wheel to get that 1:03 time, most if not all of those at the VERY top are using a pad. This is something that has been pointed out before, although I'm not going to go back to pad since I'd lose the fun and immersion :D

As for tips, I recommend here:

Particurlarly this post, written by someone who has many top times including a 1:02 in C class:

I have posted this message in Forza Central to help out a fellow racer. He asked about the Corvette Z06 and how to get it into the 56's or 57's. This explanation will work on all the cars all classes.

If you want to run fast times, use manual transmission, ABS = ON, TCS = OFF, STM = OFF.

I hope this helps you guys.

"I can't make a video but I'll try give you some pointers. I have ran a 56.419, with the corvette. Same assists that you use.

Never go into 2nd gear around any corners, 3rd is better. 1st corner right leave in 3rd gear, brake hard for the turn on the left hand side and turn and brake a little at the same time. Out of the 1st corner try and stay close to the kerb, hold the throttle around half for no wheelspin. There is little bump out of the corner once you pass it put full throttle and it should not spin.

Next corner the left hander leave in 3rd gear enter out wide and cut in so your 2 left tyres hit the kerb but never the grass. Try hit the kerb on the left and stay on the left as much as you can. Do not touch the brakes for the next corner at all. Let go of the throttle completely steady the car hit the inside kerb with the 2 right tyres and then put 3/4 throttle and try use the kerb on the left to straighten.

The next is the left and right S Bend, leave in 3rd gear Again enter the corner wide and cut in over the kerb. Half your car should be able to go over the kerb don't touch the grass, push the throttle for a fraction of a second. Once again let go of the throttle. Control the body roll, hit inside kerb again and accelerate to outside kerb.

Next corner the fast right hander take it in 4th gear. Do not let the car slide slow down enough, so you can have full throttle around the turn without hitting the grass.

The last corner Leave in 3rd gear try stay to the left without touching the grass. Cut it in early as close as you can do the grass, hold the throttle steadily all the way around the corner. The car will feel like its jolting around the corner you have to control the throttle and aim for the outside but don't touch the grass, and accelerate to the finish line.

Once you master this course you can run fast in every car.

I know a video is better so you can see it, But I hope I made some sende.

I can run 56.6 or 56.7 every time with the Z06. My best is 56.419"

This explanation is for A Class, Corvette Z06.

But even in C Class you should never have to go to 2nd gear. I have ran a 1.02.813 in The Fairlady and I take all the corners in 3rd or 4th gear. You never have to go to 2nd gear in any car. Hope this helps some of you guys. Peace out.

Your final question - yes the fastest time will be displayed at the end of the race for all competitors, so you will see the overall fastest.

Thanks KSaiyu, That was BRILLIANT!!! Thanks for sharing, bro..

I drive with same assists, so now 56.419 shouldnt be a problem, atleast in my dreams! :P , the write up was awesome, i'll give it a shot and see if i can atleast better my time of 58.7xx with the FordGT!

About the questions - I know that after the race you can, but during the race?
