Does the GTP in dans name stand for Gran Turismo Preacher or something? Anyway the Nordschleife has been redone as the original was widened and lengthened for online play but the backlash that followed made them see sense and the Green Hell is now much more accurate and also back in it's Green rather than Orange and Yellow stage.

Criticism I can respect but blind fanboyism is just pathetic. (so is the word fanboyism come to think of it. lol)

Please, don't waste your money on Forza.

2 important facts.

*The steering wheel is a joke, it looks and probaly feels like a plastic toy. It has about 1/4 of the rotation of the DFP/G25, so it can't even replicate the feel of all cars the way GT5 has the potential to archieve.

*Nordschleife is unrealistic. The kerbs are completely disproportion (too large/wide). Elevation is wrong in too many areas, as well has width of the track. This is partly their incompetence, and because they did not use GPS to measure the track.
GT4 ring is still the benchmark in everyway.

There is a perfectionist approach that PD take that I really admire. All the real life track use GPS measurements, with correct size kerbing. Knowing you are driving the the same width/elevations as the real life adds a lot to the realism/emotions.

Hi Dan, just wondering where the evidence is for these 2 facts you have pointed out?
You are giving facts about the MS wheel when in fact you are, saying youself" it looks and probaly feels like a plastic toy", assuming by pictures or some other form of medium.
You have to remember that the G25 wheel is on the high end scale of wheels on the market, the MS wheel is not. I love my G25 wheel and my DFP, and the MS wheel does an amazing job in Fora2.

The Nurburgring fact: I would like to know how you think Forza 2 created it, seeing as they must not have used real life GPS measurements, with correct size curbs. Again, please inform everyone of the correct size for all curbs in nurburgring, or is it just correct due to your passion with GT4?? It certainly was an amazing track in GT4, and honestly looking more amazing in Forza2.

People are generally here due to the love of racing games, regardless of what console it is on. If you own a 360, Forza2 is a must for racing fans and has lifted the bar for all self claimed racing sims.

I dunno, ive read reports about the wheels feeling cheap and a couple breaking on a newzealand forum But as stated thats nothing to do with turn 10.
Question. Whats up with the crappy handling in the demo. With all aids off it appears to have something still in place to penalise/slow you down with traction loss and if you drift the car wont spin out with to little or too much power. Is that just friendly controller handling. If so its going to be way to easy on the controller guys compared to the wheel when competing online. I cant seem to get it to understeer and crash off course. If it happens just power down and it slides then as it slides release throtle and it grips like a train track and you fly round the corner(note: exagerated explaination)
Nice sense of feeling the road with the physics engine though.
Might pick this up 2nd hand. Im not going to get it just with the controller as i dont like the way it handles and i just bought a g25 a few weeks back. With the hype im having alot of trouble not getting caught up and buying it though.

Whats up with all these negative-nelly new members? My God, its like Sony is paying people to come in here and write bad things about Forza 2... Its not like its much of a surprise really, as they have done it before... But is it really worth it?

For real? Do tell, because that's just low. 👎

There was an article about in EGM two months ago... They were paying people to go into online forums (just like ours) to sing the praises and the drawbacks of different games, products, etc. I believe the one in question in the article was about the PSP. I'll have to see if I can find that issue here...

Forza is going to be a good game, I'm going to buy it, and I'm going to play it. The cars is the demo seemed pretty good and it was nice that you can drift with a stock car, unlike with GT4 which had everything understeering right from the get go (no GT4 wasn't a bad game). I'll have to go through and see if they cars in the games are close to any real life cars, I know I'll be able to compare the Redline since my buddy has one.

lol, I can imagine that would be kind of fun, if as equally shameful.

To Godzilla GTR: I think the last corner is a factor as you pointed out, there is probably some line through there that once you nail once will be pretty quick. I'll be back trying tonight heh.

Wow, how lame can a company be? Maybe if your products weren't lack luster, you wouldn't have to pay people to say good things about them.

A little off the current convo topic but .... I love the replay system:tup: 👍 !!! The slo-mo, the frame by frame option and the 360 degree view can give you a comlete and awesome shot of any pass, drift or my faveorite crash. If yo to the frame by frame when you go over the rumble strips yo can see every motion of the suspesnion. I cant wait for this game.

Oh, does anyone know anything about the controls. Are there going to be more presets or better yet a custom one yo can make like gt4, because the shifter buttons suck!!!

The steering wheel does its job adequately, sure it doesnt measure up to my G25, but it still very useable.

PD are perfectionists at graphics!! but im increasingly irked by the lack of game developement, since GT1 and 2!!!
If your a graphics whore thats fine, but if your love is racing those divine machines around those glorious tracks, PD has forgotten all about us.
Removing online from GT4 killed it for me, Id seen the PD glitz before.
Not only did they remove the online, but they reverted back to the GT3 AI engine even though PD had been touting new things for the AI even before GT3!! GT is fine for cruising and time trialing but actual racing sucks!

Enter the new Forza Demo, The Track in that is sublimely detailed, then you and the AI add to it with tire marks constantly throughout the race, The Sound Blows GT away,Phwoaarrrrr to that lovely Ferrari through my 5.1:sly: the Graphics are plenty good enough once you get over the fact that their are a few minor aliasing issues, The Ai actually race you, no predetermined racing going on here, they actually have some intelligence, they can spin out off the track!! The Physics feel good with the wheel, though seem to have a similar simplified control system as gt with the controller, and are a Vast improvement over Forza 1.
GTHD shows more of the same PD: More gloss, same game!!
The Forza2 Demo has left me feeling more gratified than GT4 ever did, and all that with the knowledge, that i will be able to take it online, custom paint my cars, mod them and even engine swap them!!!!
Right Now forza2 has more to offer me than anything GT has. That is due to PD,s incompetence to udate the base of the game, They are so far behind now in certain aspects it will take them 2 iterations to catch up.

Too close your eyes to Forza 2 is a mistake!!
I look forward to GT5, as well as the next Toca, and any other credible racer that comes along while you wait endlessly for GT5 to launch!
To be honest with all the shenanigans over the GTHD classic premium that was ready to go at launch, and then dramatically cancelled so that work could focus on GT5 nonsense,it looks like a lot of time was wasted on the upgrade that never was,:ouch: so GT5 will either be a very long way off, Xmas 2008 anyone?:scared: or once again fail to deliver on improving the many neglected areas of the game .:nervous:
U better put a dust cover over your PS3!

Really? Try going to the official Forza forums. Any talk of GT, and it's just retarded people claiming that Forza is superior in every way.

Don't really even try to make this look like a Forza-haters convention. I guarantee you, this is nothing compared to Turn10's forums. Che has been just as bad as well.

If that was also aimed at me. Im a chef in mt maunganui in New Zealand and am in no way afilliated with ms nintendo or sony :P
I was asking a serious question though. Some people claim the strange grip is because its in arcade mode or controlers. With the negative talk I was just hoping someone with a wheel might pursuade me that the game and wheel are worth my time.Even if it means buying 2nd hand. Also is online controler configurable so you can play only people with wheels if you want?
But instead all i get is hate :( Its a bad way of handling a situation and why official forums always turn to crap. Instead of giving a reason to prove people wrong or allay their fears all you get is "your a gt fanboy comments" which only looks like you cant prove them wrong thus their hate is justified.
Nobody loves me, everybody hates me think ill go eat worms. Now where is that i like you little boy comic.

Yes viral marketing is worth it. Look at places like gaf. If games like puzzle quest and dj max portable gat a few posters saying they like it then it becomes the cool underdog that everyone wants. Across several forums that would probably add up to 10s of thousands of sales plus marketing and word of mouth. If you do the same thing with fud and put a negative aura about your competitors it can do similar things. Its like an urban legend and people simply start to believe a rumour simply because its been said enough time in multiple places. I think paying journalists etc to write good or bad things is far worse though.

I didn't mean any offense to you, but I thought it was a bit odd that two or three new members had sprung up and immediately began talking less-than-positive points about Forza 2. To be honest, the demo obviously showed some flaws (graphics first and foremost), but I think a lot of people are being extremely picky for no apparent reason.

...I've been a big fan of GT since the start, but GT4 managed to erase that just a bit. It has been a long-standing statement of mine that the only way you'd ever get me to buy a PS3 is with GT5, and as it stands, it may be a while before that ever happens...

So in summation, I didn't mean to make anyone angry... But I thought what was going on was a bit odd...

No offence taken, just pointing it out. Its really hard to insult a kiwi. Especialy with race. Kind of weird. We are just so laid back :)
I havnt been into racing games in ages. The last gt game i played untill lately was on ps1 so ive got a rather large backlog of games to play inclueding the pc stuff. Then i found this place and saw the cockpits etc and now im spending money left right and centre building a cockpit with transducers etc. So my must have hype for this game is probably less than most and it has tuff competition. Especially on pc with clutch/shifter support.

Im lovin the Demo. I will buy this game for sure. I love the M3, such a great car. The 997 Turbo is fun, but the Lambo is way more fun. And BTW, this game has the best sounding cars I have ever heard in an racing game. Better than GT3, GT4, Toca, Forza 1, TDU, PGR3 in my opinion.

Maybe you should check out GTR2 or rFactor for the sounds department. ;)

Nothing like the sound of your house rumbling around you as saw through the gears.

ye but it goes up like a ricter scale(lol) with medium being like 4x harder then easy etc. so professional will be HARD

Er.. if I want a simulation of fast driving, I'll take my real car out. Forza was a more enjoyable game than GT4, because it was slightly unrealistic, whereas GT4 is as about as much fun as being stuck in a traffic jam. I'm a car anorak, but by god, I want to experience cars in games as fun things, not anal depictions of supposed limits. Even GT4 has no real idea of grip.

I thought Che said the AI was on easy.

from the latest pitpass(near the bottom)

Q: What difficulty level is the AI in the demo?

A: The AI in the demo is set to medium difficulty (there's easy, medium, and professional in the full game). Those of you who find it too easy -- not to worry -- you will get your @$$ handed to you when you go up against professional AI. Actually, those of you who race clean and are very consistent will find the professional AI very challenging but fair. Just ask my office mate (and BMW LMP car driver for this week's Replay Theater video) Rob Fulwell. He loves it.

Hmmm. I hope there isn't a massive leap between Medium and Professional. I do find the current cars way too easy, but I don't want the Professional cars to be way too hard. I want to hit the middle spot somewhere, instead of me being forced to the easy Medium all the time due to frustration...
