Personally I think the braking with ABS off is very good.

If you are braking at near peak load turning should be very limited as the tires just don't have the grip to take the lateral turning load as well as the retardation. If you sacrifice a little bit of retardation by easing off the brakes you get yourself a little bit more grip to turn with and that's generally how I've found it to be.

The point of lockup feels pretty intuitive for me, and there are slight audio clues to let you know when you have pretty much reach the peak braking force before lockup.

Personally I think this does a better job of simulating not having ABS than GT5 which I find to be a bit draconian in how much pressure it will let you put into the system in a short space of time, regardless of how far away you are from the maximum potential braking force.

Already asked this in another thread but i thought it would be answered best in this one!

I wasnt aware of this and...........

Well yesterday i purchased a Buick Regal and its PI was R3 so it looked to be fully upgraded, i wouldnt care how it was tuned cos i'd do it myself. Now the car itself is 63k brand new - i paid 110k for this one which i thought was fair.

When i went to view the upgrade shop to see if it was fully tuned it told me the tune was locked do i want to delete it. So i thought what the heck i'll delete it and do my own tune.

Big Mistake....

Once deleted it put the car back to a D class and there was no upgrades already paid for. So effectively i paid 110k for a stock Buick Regal

Anyone know if theres anything i can do? or is it a lost cause?

Help !!

When I brake I can't steer at all (obviously), and the car goes straight from the point of braking, so I have to brake differently in F3 (with aids off of course).

Lock the wheels with ABS off and you cant steer in GT5P either.

barry...

This is just a guess, as I'm not going to buy a $63k car to check it, but does the Buick have any engine swaps? Upgrades are specific to the engine they were purchased for, so if it does have engine swaps it may be that you have to apply that before you can select all the paid-for parts. If not... I'm not sure what happened!

I had a look but as far as i can see you cant swap an engine in the Buick :(

Any upgrades need to be bought, car is definately totally stock - i cant see how the game can allow you to pay for the car with all the mods then just because i got rid of the tuning setup it gets rid of the modifications !!

Oh and i wish i paid 63,000cr - as thats what it should be stock - i paid 110,000cr :ouch:

I've been playing FM3 since last Friday and this is my take on it.
Pros
The cars feel good to drive and are nowhere near as oversteery as they were in previous Forza games.
Circuit detail is good in most cases and the new additions are very pretty. Nordschliefe is improved (nowhere near as wide though the corners are still too easy to take and it's too smooth).
Engine sound is pretty good again.
The UI is improved also.
Some nice new cars to the series.
Cars generally look better than before thanks too improved lighting.

Cons
Cockpit view is poor. No hand animation, too close to the wheel and lacking detail.
Cars are not particularly well animated. Drive the Range Rover and take a few hard corners and there is minimal body roll, unlike in reality. Cars such as the SLR, Veyron and Audi TT do not have active spoilers (this was also the case in all previous versions of Forza).
Poor selection of cars in some instances, such as the Zonda which hasn't been added to since the series started. Would have liked to have had a few hardcore cars like the Gumpert, Ascari and SSC Ultimate Aero.
Can feel floaty. Too many tracks have an almost billiard table smoothness to them, including Nordschliefe. Sometimes you can see the wheels are not touching the circuit.
No neutral, even when using the clutch.
Cars have an auto handbrake when stopped on a hill. May seem unimportant but hardly in keeping with realistic physics.

Now it would seem that the Cons out weigh the Pros but that's not really the case. Most of the Cons are down to my taste. A lack of Zonda's in the game is pretty criminal to me but for others it maybe irrelevant. No neutral again maybe irrelevant to some but not to me. In the end Forza 3 is a very good game, easily deserving of 8/10. If those other things were put right it'd be 10/10.

I don't know how you can say the Nordschliefe is smooth. It's incredibly bumpy, I was surprised just how bumpy they'd made it.

I thought some sections were extremely bumpy too !

Alot of the time im using a lotus exige around 350bhp and if i hit one of the bumps the wrong way it can make me lose traction and send me into a spin!

Finally I get the damn game tomorrow, I can't wait!

What's the best car to start with, or are they all pretty evenly matched?

Good read 👍 But there is way to zoom out from sunday drive seating position, it's in options, You have to trick the game to get a good field of view, But it still warps the track's, Since the cockpit was not designed to go that far back.
67% is pretty good though.

But i'm sure you have already heard about this fix.

Great job, nice drifts and good editing! 👍

NICE drifting!!! They have a touge course! I can't wait to pick this up tomorrow and get sideways!!! Wish i had the Fanatec wheel right now, damn you G25 and microsoft for not getting along!!! In this game when you lower the cars do they get lowered? I remember in F2 no matter how low you put the car, it was still 4x4'ing. I hated that with a few cars, took away the aggressive great look of a nicely lowered auto. I only ask because the s14 is riding REALLY high, that wheel gap is unnaceptable in my book, is that stock or upgraded suspension, and did you just not lower it? Or is that how low it goes? Doesn't look like there is much body roll, which makes me think it's upgraded, just riding high...

What's the best car to start with, or are they all pretty evenly matched?

AFAIK they're all pretty even. I think 3-4 of the cars out of the 7 available have been pre-upgraded to make them all even. But if you get one of the pre-upgraded cars you can't use them in the stock manufacturer races.

I think I'm going to start with the Fit as my first car. Either that or the Fiesta.

Hmmm good to know, I think I'm going with the Fiesta. I'll figure it out tomorrow though.

Just to say off hand, I didn't like the physics in either Forza 1 or Forza 2, so if it hasn't changed any since those games, I'll probably just pass on the purchase.
If that's the case, I would be willing to guess that you won't like Forza 3 either. I haven't played it, but I really enjoyed everything about Forza 1 and 2 (including the physics), so I'm not really the right person to judge here. See if there's anyone else on here that didn't like Forza 1 and 2 handling model, but like the handling model of #3 I guess.

Well if the oversteer bias was the main reason he didn't like FM1 and 2, it seems to be gone.

I went with the Fiesta, but you start earning new cars pretty quickly so it doesn't really matter.

So someone said some of the starters are upgraded to begin with? How so? I've got another 8 hours before I go pick it up, and I don't know if I'll play it tonight or not. Have to be at work at 6am.

I don't know how I am going to be able to hold off until 10AM tomorrow when gamestop opens. I haven't been this excited for a game in ages.

Same here. It hurts thinking that I'll have to wait until about 8PM tomorrow to actually play the game even if I buy it in the morning.

Glad I'm not the only one. I've literally been counting down the days since last Monday.

Hang in there. That's all the advice I got right now, but at least you'll have it.

Work out of my home, but as a rule I usually don't touch any games till evenings & weekends,
but worked late today to get finished with a project. Tomorrow I'm making an exception.

Just hope install goes without a hitch. :)

I got my R8 code in the mail sometime earlier this (yesterday) evening.

I'm going to end up having two of the reserve R8's, anyone want a free gifty-gift? :D

I have also got an R8 code. Does this just unlock the R8 that you get with the LCE, or does it give you a different/painted car?

If it's just the same as the LCE car then I'll give my code away as well.

If you don't mind giving it to me I'd be a happy boy. However, if you don't that's ok. If someone else has a spare, kindly give me a shout, guys.
