For some reason I can't find the track with the open hangar. Does anyone know where it is?

It's the test track place, as found in the track pack downloaded with the vintage cars.

Want your chrome rims colored? would you like to leave your lips chrome and the middle colored?

That is brilliant, it'll work with my Hamann wheels that I wanted to be black! 👍

The guy who posted the video reckoned all the cars were stock. I also noticed from the drag replays on Youtube that the launches seem weird - the throttle would be at max( car rev limiting) - It get lots of wheelspin for 2 seconds, them immediately grips.

I quite liked Forza 2 launches - various different outcomes based on throttle position

After drag racing a 700hp foxbody mustang I can tell you that you don't get magic grip after 2 seconds :)

Nor do you in a 900hp IROC Z! The traction control kicks in a bit late on the launch, if that's what you mean?

I had a drag race against TVR&FF earlier, he was in a Sagaris and I was in a Chevy Aveo and I won. It's not even fully upgraded yet either!

Mog, you and me are going to have a heads up challenge with the Fiat 500 and the Cooper Works. Would be fairly epic I would assume.

If you mean stock, then the Cooper Works will win by a fair distance even though the Abarth is the EsseEsse model. There is quite a bit of difference IIRC.

If you mean tuned then I'm up for it with my newly tweaked Assetto Corse, although the engine might not be all it seems :P

Or, you buy a Cooper Works and I'll spend the same amount on an Abarth SS with a few tweaks? That might make it more fair.

Oh I'm sure we could work it so it'd be fair.

That's the one called the sidewinder proving grounds or something along those lines. I downloaded it last night but thought it was under the same track as where the drag strips are. Wish I was at home to try it out!

Benchmark test track is FANTASTIC! Jst load up the oblong layout and muck about, so much to do, love attempting this little drift thing, its 2 barriers real close together forming a 90degree turn, so tight to drift through, managed it once in the DBS havnt done it since. And it has its own version of Ken Blocks "eyeball spin dryer" tough to perform but real awesome.

I guess I'll plug my DLC codes in today. Wanted to wait until the official release just in case there were problems with the codes.

Just tried the online for the first time.

Other than in a private/friends only game it doesn't seem to want to let you alter the basic ruleset, or even select which track you want to use. All the options are there but you can't change anything.

Couldn't select track, force assist off etc, even change the number of laps. Also online is basically 'A' class cars minimum.

The racing was so-so. Walking away from my first go at it I'm a bit disappointed. Maybe it will grow on me.

You can only change the options if you're the host of the room. Is this what you are referring to or are you referring to something else?

Don't forget our old meetups on GTA and PGR. I'l have that game soon and sort you out :sly: (not with a helicopter blade through your windscreen this time)

I was, but when I entered the room I was the only person in there (so I assume I was the host) and the game didn't start until another player joined, and the first race was just me vs him.

Also, you're supposed to get a free theme with the LCE. I've plugged in both my DLC codes and haven't got the theme anywhere that I can see. The only theme is the one on the store for 240 points.

Has anyone got any idea where this is hiding, or has Europe been shafted here again?

Edit: apparently from reading the xbox forums, the theme "isn't available" yet.

I'd doubt it, although of course I can't state this as a fact.

...Still sitting on the sidelines. Haha.

Ok, without reading all 153 pages of this thread, I have a basic question:

How does this game "feel" compared to other console sims out there. (not specifically GT) What does it most compare to?

Since I do not currently have a 360, and would be purchasing one specifically for this game, it is a BIG purchase for me.

There's not that many console "sims". Off the top of my head, GT5 Prologue, GT4 on PS2, Enthusia on PS2, Forza and Forza 2 on Xbox & 360, Race Pro on 360, Ferrari Challenge and SuperCar Challenge on PS3, F1 '06 on PS3, that's all I can really think about it.

I have all of those games except SuperCar Challenge (not available in North America afaik) and I don't have Forza 3 yet either, so can't quite comment on Forza 3.

As to what it most compares to, I would say there's no other game like it (referring to Forza 2 anyway). I've played through GT4 and enjoyed it greatly, same goes for Forza and Forza 2. With Forza 2, I spent majority of my time racing online with organized league racing and tuning various cars. It was very enjoyable and the car selection it offers with Ferraris and Lambos and such was enjoyable for me, same goes for the tuning aspect how they have engine swaps and such. GT5 may have this too, but by the time GT5 comes out, I'll get a lot of time out of Forza 3.

Just to say off hand, I didn't like the physics in either Forza 1 or Forza 2, so if it hasn't changed any since those games, I'll probably just pass on the purchase.

To be perfectly honest here. the one thing I can say that is different in F3 over GT is the braking physics. When I brake I can't steer at all (obviously), and the car goes straight from the point of braking, so I have to brake differently in F3 (with aids off of course).

The game physics are good obviously, the courses are fun (but please, 100 courses? T10 just can't tell it as it is I guess)... The graphics are good, but nowhere near what was advertised, the music for the most part sucks big friggin' time, and there are other things of course.

But hey, I'm buying an xbox for this game, though I still think that GT5 will be miles better. (Whats a game with only 1 console :dopey:)

There is actually Toca Race Driver 3 worth to mention as console sim, and good too. If only you could drive every car on every track.

That shouldn't happen in all cars, are you driving them with stock setups? My Focus RS can brake as I'm turning no problems.

The physics are much improved over FM2, the cars feel like they have a decent amount of weight to them and you can feel them on the road, as if the tyres are actually making full contact. You can tell when the car is on the limit, too.

You have to also bear in mind that if you have all assists off including ABS you have to be gentle on the brakes. If you brake into a corner with full pressure your going to lock up and carry straight on straight forward.
