The Celica front end looks odd to me.

When you shut the bonnet, it actually presses flush with the big rubber on the headlight and the curve starts from the front bumper shell. FM3 has an eyebrow and the front is skewed so to me it looks way off. Even the low jaggy poly in GT4 resembles the real car more. The headlight rubber should be more pronounced and is a very discernible feature.

At first glance is just looks like a weedy Celica and wrong straight away. Even reminds me of more angular stateside cars, Neon-ish but even that has the bonnet flush. Shame as the front end is very characterful and sporty.

Anybody know whats meant by this?

1997 #23 Nismo R390

Go the distance behind the controls of a 24 Hours of Le Mans legend. With a 641-horsepower, twin-turbo 3.5-liter V8 hovering a touch of the Y button away, Forza drivers will be in awe of this long-tailed endurance racer. This car finished 12th overall and fifth in class at the Circuit de la Sarthe. Can you drive the R390 and its eye-catching red-and-black livery to the victory it should have had a decade ago? See you on the podium.

He saying that the power of the engine is only a touch of the Y button away, that's all.

I don't follow you. Y has never really done anything in FM, only changed the statistics option when looking at a car, or look-back when driving.

You're right, in that case I can't say exatly what is implied by that, I could only guess.

I was thinking maybe if there if we have to fire-up the engines now.

I can see what you're talking about. As an ST204 owner, I know what you're talking about. But, honestly, that's looking for a bone to pick. Seeing as though they got the odd front clip fit rendered into the game (it seems to be a problem with all of those Celicas), I'm fairly satisfied.

Hmm. It'd be nice if the standard GT is in there. Probably not though. I'll take the All-Trac that I've always wanted.

Better comparison, that Acura LM racer, is looking good. and over thorough inspection of cars, Ive came across alot of model errors.... And also...what is with the lights? they look so...just not even thought about, just put a bulb in a clear lense, putting some weird lighting over it? goes for headlights tail lights and auxiliary lights.(turn signals fog lights.) And the lighting....is still just wrong...except for acura LM. why cant they just get it right?

I have found that in my experience with GT5p, there are some similar issues as well. I think we will never get perfection on this current gen of consoles. The closest we could get is if they put these two titles on PC, and a nice high end PC at that.

As I keep saying in numerous threads, the lighting has more to do with the way most 360 games are. They all have a ton of light bloom. It might be something with the way the graphic processor works the best (I haven't the foggiest idea though).

GT5:P has other lighting issues like being to dark all of the time.

Lighting in a 3D realm is, and probably will always been, a royal PITA.

Could you point some out? Could be interesting.

You haven't seen any flaws in the cars in GT5p? I have only had the game a month, and I am OLD (37), and I can see flaws in lighting and car details. I suspect my eyes are not as good as you young whippersnappers out there, but man..I can easily pick apart the cars in all these racing games. I guess I have always been a car nut.

I need to get one of those PVR/DVR things for my network so I can record playback of my racing games on my consoles and take in game screenshots of games that don't have photo mode.

I think PD pretty much have the whole realistic true to lighting reflection and bulb, outter layer, reflective true to life textures down pact. infact it's the only game i have seen get that close to real headlights, fog lights and taillights. turn signals ETC.

Well there are some lighting issues (especially in shadowing) but i never noticed car model failures like wrong taillights or a too big spoiler etc.

Only not working interior displays. lol

So if you know some, show them (not here though, would be a bit too much off topic).

EDIT: And that Mazda is from GTHD, the cars details are actually improved in GT5P.

EDIT²: For a bit on topicness: That Acura is awesome and its cool that you can now repaint also race cars.
The livery editor is a mighty feature.

.

i know and it's amazing how pd know how to make taillights and headlights look so real.. it does not matter if it's led taillights or standard bulb, projector headlights or standard reflector, it just all look's believable.

sorry for the DP.

The Acura comparison is amazing, I had to look at each one a few times to distinguish them. TBH you may all say there are model issue but to those who dont really car about bits of rubber and tire treads etc they all look pretty dam good.

really amazes me how far forza has come...i remember playing forza 1 and thinking it looked like initial d.

I dont care for bits of rubber and tyre treads, but completely wrong spoilers or lights are a different thing. I for example also wouldve no problem to tell which one is real (drivers helmet, most colors, headlights, rims, some edges here and there) and it doesnt matter if its GT5 or FM3. So bigger differences bother me personally a lot.

Looking at the new pictures I have personally found tons of clear odd flaws (wont go pointing them out) but...

that Acura is very nice and very well done.

i did it so we could find flaws.... if the forza community thinks there good enough to be compared to real cars, then why not find flaws...

The models look pretty good to me, seriously I think I have better thing to do with me time then find accuracy flaws on a computer generated model. As long as it's pretty close, which those cars seem to be, then I don't care.

I didn't say you can't find flaws, I just said I personally wont bother pointing them out it doesn't really get us anywhere.

I have finaly figured out what forza 3 cars look like, Autoart 1'18 scale model cars.
