Thanks, I hope they pull it off. In GT5P, I do 80% or racing in cockpit mode.
I remeber in Ferrari Challenge, the game runs SLOW in cockpit, its not easy for the eyes.

By the way, RedOak , can you post a poll on who is getting it? as well Who is getting the limited Edition?

The only thing I want to see with the cockpit view is hand animations. It still looks funny watching the Ford GT drive in-game & the driver never take his hands off the wheel.

Or you get the awkward delays between shifts and steering input that happens in some cars with PGR. They did a good job with the dirt/grime build-up, where it gets on the window, but its never enough to totally distract you. It seems like the wipers automatically turned on to keep a clear view. Seems like GRID did the same thing too...

Since Turn 10 is sub-division of Microsoft, would it be possible they create a PC sim racer? Even Port FM3, add maybe more physics, graphics, whatever.. I bet they will be #1 PC sim racer of all time. Heck a lot of Microsoft games end up being on PC!

[ORGASM]OH MY GOODNESS YES PLEASE DO!

If MS wasn´t making the Xbox 360 there would been a chance lol. Forza 2 they may consider porting but not Forza 3 for obvious reasons ;).

cockpit view on E3 was not 30 fps it just wasn´t quite 60 fps somewhere in between it seemed. And yes they say it´s going to be 60 fps. Hopefully they are forced to remove the hand animations because being selfish that would suite my cockpit better lol.

as well how Graphics are during live gameplay compared to photomode shots.. anotehr FAIL...

Proof that you've seen any game play footage in real life? There has been none posted to the internet that wasn't filmed off the the television's screen. I AM very interested to see the disparity myself - Forza 2's photomode looked quite a bit WORSE than in game, but this can't be so this time around.

Forza 2 didn´t look as good in real life either. Neither do GT 5 Prologue. I guess it´s just something different with moving pictures lol.

Not a lot of officially sanctioned gameplay shots or video of FM3 but here's the usual shots from supposedly the game's photomode:

Most of the videos seen either on youtube or the Gamersyde seems to suggest that it lies closer to the "actual footage" with perhaps less contrast and slightly brighter.

Here's Sony/PD release screenshots from Prologue (note: there's no photomode in the game):

Both games look great... FM3 is graphically cleaner, but GT5 looks more "realistic". FM3 has some really nice backgrounds and the car models are also nice but GT's lighting really gives in that real look. As I said both games looks great, but GT5 looks less like a game. IMO FM3, as good as it looks still looks like a game.

Very much agreed. They just need to do something about those over-developed "skins" or whatever it is that makes it look like they have space-grade plasteel.

I wish they would release FM3 on PC, it'd be so awesome if they did. These days your "average" gaming PC is at least as powerful as an Xbox 360 or PS3.

At the moment it'd cost me close to $1000AUD to play FM3, which is just too much given there aren't many other xbox 360 games I want to play (the only one that comes to mind is Halo 3) and my PC is already set up perfectly to play racing sims.

Depending on what you call average, thats not entirely true. Games like Killzone 2 and Gears of War would take quite a powerful PC to run. Not comparing things on a same game basis but on a graphical basis, you would need a pretty powerful PC to run Killzone 2 (assuming it was built for the PC. Its not as detailed and demanding as Crysis (on max) but the neogaf comparison shots prove that its pretty damn close. In order to play Crysis on max the least you would need to spend is $1000 USDS.

You have the crappiest pictures taken from GT5Prologue from replay.. they look out of color and washed out.
Check these out posted in the GT5P forums by various members..
These are all in game, no photo mode..

So yeah these look way more clean over FM3 in live gameplay!

By the way, GT5 Demo pictures, how do you know they are really video captured? Link please.

Here are some to compare FM3 PhotoMode Advert Pictures To real gameplay of GT5Prologue...

Not really. An 8800 GT and a 2.4 gig core 2 duo is quite a bit faster :)

Crysis is an abomination, it looks nice, but its not THAT much nicer than other games around, but it takes a computer which is about 3 times as powerful to run maxed out at the same resolution.

I can play Gears of War, DiRT, GRID, COD4, UT3, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and I'm sure others that I've forgotten about, all at a level that looks better than they do on the Xbox 360, and my PC is 2 and a bit years old (e6600, 8800GTS, 2gb of 667MHz ram). Cost me $1300AUD when I got it, but my friend recently upgraded his PC (replaced mobo, power supply, CPU, GPU and ram, but kept his old case, hard drives and DVD drives) for about $600AUD and its more powerful than mine now (noting a PS3 costs $700 for a fat, $500 for a new slim, 360 is about $400-500 depending on the bundle you get).

People forget this. You can run Crysis at medium settings it still looks better then anything else out this. I am surprised how many actually preferr lesser graphics as long as they can "max it out". Warhead runs even better though :)

It just increases the life span. You can play Crysis in three years and it still looks fresh. And you have an optioin if you are biased to the physics you can max that out and reduce other settings. It scales very well.

There was Rallisport Challenge for the PC, and it didn't turn out well as the Xbox version. I doubt that would happen.

Heres an interesting article I stumbled across. By stumbled, I mean I didn't go looking for Forza news and even rarer is that I visited gametrailers.com forum to see it....

Anyway, here's a link of the Forum page with the magazine article scan on it.

http://forums.gametrailers.com/thread/official-forza-motorsport-3-th/832627?page=36

Two interesting things I noted from that, one, was another 'gem' of a comment by Mr Greenwalt "We're starting to run out of things to be simulating"...

And the other was that they have dropped the multi-screen setup for Forza3. I guess since they have adjusted the cockpit view for the single screen, they haven't gone and re-tooled the display for the other 2 screens, and have dropped the feature altogether. Weird. The comment is at the bottom of the 3rd scanned page, under the picture with Dan's quote.

I'd be annoyed if I had a multi-screen setup for Forza2 and it was then dropped from the next game! I'm looking at going multi-screen for GT5 if it properly supports it. Its a great feature, although I can understand not spending time on it seeing as only a small percentage of players would ever make use of such a feature.

I hope they release some information today. I know Che said there would be two info reveals this week, I'm hoping one of them is today. Maybe Dreams Vol. II?

This is a Forza 3 thread so I dont want to get into it, I simply bought it up to show that an "average" gamer PC can run console games regardless of what Crysis does. But...

You can run Crysis at medium settings it still looks better then anything else out this.

I disagree. On anything but very high the lighting looks like crap and the graphics on a whole look unpolished and inconsistent.

I am surprised how many actually preferr lesser graphics as long as they can "max it out".

I disagree.

Warhead runs even better though :)

I disagree.

It just increases the life span. You can play Crysis in three years and it still looks fresh.

I disagree.

Bugatti Veyron is in FM3 - check out the video in the link. Not the best quality though.

Not a Veyron fan myself but great news for those that are and it's an iconic car no doubt.

Guys you have to watch the Bugatti Veyron video, great insight into the passion that went into putting this beast in the game.

It looks absolutely fantastic, no doubt its going to cost a bomb in game, but lets face it weather your a Veyron fan or not, no serious motor head is going to want to miss out on test driving the veyron around the nordschleife, going for a high speed run on one of the ovals, or just laying down rubber on the drag strip.

Heres the video link again guys

Next up the Ferrari reveal + new track reveals

Kudos to T10 for the Veyron good job guys
