IDK main $700 is huge investment to me. I mean that is a lot of money. There is $170 difference between a GT5 full setup and a FM3 full set up. That is a lot of money.

Why do they always get bad drivers to show off car racing games? that guy couldnt even drive a stick.👎 he couldn't even grip the steering wheel correctly.

Agreed, and the current quality of the Microsoft 360 wheel (apparently they stopped making the Logitech one) isn't exactly enough to make it a compelling choice at the moment. Yeah, you get a game with it, but, meh. Hopefully Microsoft will be moved enough to make an updated wheel to go with the game... But I'm not holding my breath.

I've had some time to study Forza Motorsport 3 and its trailer. One thing I could conclude was the in-car view as well as the Rewind feature. Personally, I'd rather play "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" for rewinds rather than using FM3. One thing I appreciate about the Forza series is in making an adaptable and feasible sim-type racing game experience. Forza 3 is going to make Forza fans pretty damn happy. Whatever that track is in the trailer looks awesome. Best I've played in either Forza was Alpine Ring Raceway.

I wonder how accurate the tracks are gonna be. I wish they'd do laser scanning. same thing with gran turismo 5.

One thing I find odd about this video is the wheel doesn't seem so connected to the car (IMO). Mainly when you steer towards wheel centre the on screen wheel seems to 'pop' into centre even when the real wheel you are using is no centred, it doesn't look right. It looks much like when using an anologue stick.

Actually if you look at his hands he's not holding the wheel symmetrically. The wheel on the screen is accurate to what he is doing, its just he's got one hand higher on the wheel than the other. The way he's driving is that he is quickly whipping the wheel back to centered himself, its not that the game is doing anything special.

My biggest concern is that in this video and another that I've seen there's considerable lag between the real wheel moving and the virtual wheel. Look closely at this and other videos, the driver moves his wheel and its a good half second before the wheel on the screen moves.

Actually, no, my biggest concern is still the lack of a good wheel for the xbox 360. They're advertising this Fanatec wheel which is a limited run and isn't even available in Australia. Either Fanatec needs to start making their wheel mainstream or support the G25 (I'm not saying dumb down the wheel, but just make it buyable in shops, not limited edition, and actually easily available for a decent price, like the G25 which you can walk into any decent computer shop and pick one up for a reasonable price) .

No I mean the onscreen wheel has some centred position it doesn't like to leave until a preset amount of real wheel movement, then when he steers toword centre again the onscreen wheel 'pops' into dead centre and even when the driver makes small adjustments the onscreen wheel doesnt move at all. It's small but it's there.

It also seems to have a delay before it leaves centre position and as you say a general lag.

But yeah he has a a very clumsy way of handling the wheel which doesn't help.

Oh yeah, I watched the other video again and see what you mean. Maybe the wheel has a large dead zone?

We all figured it would be on at least two discs, that's fine, maybe with all the content you install on your harddrive it will cut down on loading times too? Who knows.

And there should be a demo for the game, probably around September I'm guessing if it's an October release.

I don't understand XBox if I buy an XBox arcade which is about $250 I think will that run Forza 3 or do I need to buy add ons?

I'm not hating, but Turn10 is really pushing this as the best racing game ever, anywhere they can....
"Disc one is the full experience, even disc one is bigger than any other racing game out there
Really now?

It's all marketing crap, just like how all mobile phone companies have the biggest network or the fewest dropped calls. There is fine print on that statement somewhere, probably meaning bigger than any console racer out there, bigger than any next generation console, bigger than any 360 racer, etc. I wouldn't read to much into it to be honest.

And seriously if you want to sell games shouldn't you push your product like it's the best thing since sliced bread? I'm not going to fault Turn 10 for what every other company in the world does. Sure it's being a bit deceptive, but who isn't now days?

That may be true, but most companies also know how to be creative with their marketing.

Turn10 right now is stuck on the word "definitive", and hasn't used anything else yet to describe their game. It doesn't help that Dan throws that little phrase out there in nearly all his interviews. After 2 days, I think everyone gets his point by now.

The problem is at E3 every magazine, blog, and website are out to interview everyone. Of course you are going to hear the same thing a million times. I'm already sick of hearing about E3 and it isn't even over yet. I've had to give up looking at gaming blogs for a couple days.

And Turn 10 is video game company, I've never known video game companies to have a good marketing department or developers to have good marketing skills.

There's a difference though between good marketing & just coming out repeatedly saying, "We've got the best thing in the entire history of the world".

They act like they have achieved some new level of game development. You can call it marketing all you want, but I've never seen a video game developer coming out & sounding this confident that they have created the best thing since sliced bread.

Maybe, does it come with a Hard drive? If you want to use the extra disk of content, as far as I know you need to install the content on the HDD to access it.

As for Turn 10/Forza marketing, yeah... not impressed but I am sure many are (Mines better than yours game).

Really? How many games have been uber hyped up yet such a huge let down. The most recent one I can think of is Fuel. Fable is another one that comes to mind. There are plenty of other ones out there too.

**Fuel was basically touted as the be all to end all huge open world racer, there were numerous articles touting it to be awesome and inventive. Now that we actually have it, it sucks. All game companies paint their game like it's the best thing since sliced bread even if it isn't. I'm not saying Forza is being all the inventive with things, but if they continue the same trend as the past two game to should be a solid title.

I don't recall Fuel's developers, however, spouting that nonsense.

It's 1 thing to read articles hyping these games up, but everyone who watched that conference openly saw Turn10's Leader say he had created the best racing game ever, that it would set the bar, that it had the largest car roster of the hottest cars, that it had the best graphics & physics of any racing game, that it delivered thrills the competition can't, that it brings you what no other racing game can.

Not only is he obviously making up some BS claims, but he's openly saying that nobody can deliver anything equal.

That is not marketing, that is boasting & setting yourself up for downfall.

I wonder how hard it will be now to install it on the HD.

I don't think it will require much brain power. I assume you insert the disk, it will ask whether you would like to install and you then select yes or no depending on whether you want to install it.

I should of put this but how much will it take up? 9 gigs at most?

I reckon it'll probably be around 3-4 gb. A 360 disc capacity is 9gb I believe and I doubt that they'll use two full discs (although I'm hoping they do as the more content the better, even if it means a HD upgrade).

According to Kaz the biggest challenge for GT Mobile was making it only a gigabyte in size, even if forza is only half the size in terms of cars and tracks I still think it will require considerably more than GTMobile, I think they will use all of their 9GB allocation....and more.
