2 quick questions, sorry if they are off topic but I am assuming this is the logical place for them. My 360 crapped out on me (for the second time) and I was planning on getting the Arcade Version for $199.

Question 1: Can I take my old hard drive and use it one the new Arcade Version 360 that I am going to buy since it doesn't come with one?

Question 2: Regarding T10's promo for the release of their first downloadable car pack when the game launches, is that only available on the first day, or will that be available at any time afterwards.

Thanks in advance.

1: Yep, I did the same thing.

2: I'm pretty sure you'll be able to download that at any time, probably even a year from release. But apparently the code to get it is only going to be in some of the first few month's worth of packages?

This game looks like it's going to be 🤬 awesome!!! 👍

I just wish I could buy an Xbox360 here. :(

BTW, Jessica Lopez is gorgeous. 👍 👍

The code is supposed to be in every case for a new copy, and can be used whenever. Or so, that's what I've been reading.

OK, it seems pretty clear that Turn10's hard work & dedication has paid off. Congratulations to them. The final piece to the puzzle is the Fanatec Turbo S wheel which finally provides a decent FFB wheel for X box 360 sim racers.

I hope the PS3 fanboys will now shut up, & that PD will get on with it & (finally) put out a game that is a worthy rival for Forza, instead of resting on their past achievements & relying on glossy graphics. (Yes, I'm fed up that 5 years after the release of GT4 we're still waiting for next full GT game!)

Holy crap that guy can drive!!! Even heel toe shifting! That was awesome! I would love to have the Fantec Porsche 911 Turbo wheel setup with 6 speed shifter for this game.
I am also surprised how well F3 is doing with reviews. They are pretty much all positive reviews too. Several even saying the best sim racer. Cant wait!!

Sounds Great. Thanks a lot!

Spot on!

Whenever someone compares GT and Forza in the GT5 subforum, all they compare are graphics. 👎

As many of us have said, graphics dont make a game. But they do look really good in Forza 3 especially when you consider it was only in development 2 years. Imagine how it would look with 5 years of development. Oh well I dont hate on GT5 I just hate that they only concentrate on graphics instead of all the content. Especially after waiting 5 years. GT still does not even show the proper tire wear. The entire tire icon goes red instead of showing exactly where the tire is wearing out. It also still does not have tire marks. How can you have a sim without tire marks or a proper tire wear diagram? This is just one feature, I could go on forever.
This is what I mean.

You're right, Forza gives you better information with the telemetry data and what not whereas in GT you just have go by the feel of the car. Not that I have trouble going by the feel of the car it has been good enough for me for the last 12 or so years, but it would definitely be nice to see proper telemetry data na dwhat not added into GT5. I do feel your comment is unfair though, your making it sound like every game and it's dog has a tyre wear indicator like Forza 3's but GT which is not the case. the telemetry and information feedback from the game to the player is certainly something that can be improved in the GT games though.

You don't read the GT5 subform very much then. Graphics are the obvious, they're what everyone and anyone can compare, but there's been plenty of lenthy discussion regarding the physics and styles of gameplay. People complain when a member comes in here baiting to start a GT is better than Forza debate, it's still baiting when it's the other way round ;). Regardless, Forza 3 certainlly seems to be a top drawer game jdging by the sheer number of positive reviews. Though I didn't expect it not to be.

I'm sorry, I knew I should have said "most of the time", but I thought people would understand that was the case.

Oh, and CAMAROBOY69, Forza 3 looks great, what I believe it's lacking compared to GT is the lightning, and is slightly off the real cars in terms of modelling. But other than that, I don't see anything wrong with them.

As of 30 minutes ago I now own a 360 (used at gamestop, -w- harddrive and year warranty = $213)
When F3 gets here I'll take back Dirt2 ps3 for credit ($22.)

DIrt2 has the best graphics of any racer Ive seen, including gt5p, especially when you get a load of the damage model and the overall level of track detail and lighting effects. But its an arcade game at heart (leaderboards and even the official competitions allow bizarre cheating techniques.) I'm not too worried about graphics in F3 because I never owned F2, so it'll all be new to me. As far as fanboy-ism goes, I'm more loyal to this website, gtplanet, than I am to one console over the other. This place makes room for both and thats saying something.

Sorry for a bit of off-topic here but....

Are the physics in GTPSP similar to GT5P?
I played GTPSP yesterday with my friend but never played GT5P. I just want to know....

There's a difference between not having proper tyre wear...and not showing it. There's a million other things that could be shown in forza and gt, that would be useful to racing teams. But they're not shown either. Again, doesn't mean they're not there in the game engine.

Fact is, both of those tyres are finished. You CANNOT race on them any more. And it's fairly obvious where the problem is.

If you cannot figure out why your tyres are gone after a few laps and you're running 7 degrees of camber, you shouldn't be in a car.

Also, as for tyre marks, I'd rather a livetrack sim.

Not sure about you, but I'd rather have a track that rubbers in with marbles and other rubbish appearing on the dirty line all to be washed away when it rains, than have thick, pitch black, solid lines appear when I gun it off the start.

They're probably closer to standard physics, but without a good way to compare them (wheel and proper pedal support) there's not that many ways to tell. Well, not until the flood of Youtube videos come through and someone does a side by side comparison.

The BLKJ boys have been having some fun. Super jealous. :P

You need to warn people before you post this stuff man. I about blew a nut when I saw those pictures. Those look awesome. I love the environments, not to mention the nice chrome on the Bimmer wheels.

And that Trans Am? BONG!

From those BLKJ pics, it seem decals on the windscreens are now possible - awesome. Hope we can apply vinyls to rear quarter glass - it would allow for race driver names and flag of particular country.

Wait what? A '79 Z/28? Why did that slip under my radar?
Every generation Camaro and Firebird are all in Forza 3. The full car and track list are a couple posts back. Also Stock cars (Nascar). Also an 8 lane drag strip and free roam. Sounds like you missed out on a lot of info.
