Forza 3 has free roam? :odd:
Yes in the Airplane Hangar map that has the 8 lane drag strip. You can free roam with 8 total people in there. You can go and do anything you want. You can drift, drag race, take pics, or just hang out. It is called the Benchmark High Speed Ring.

Wait, so it's like that PGR4 bs where you have to be online to use it?

No I am sure you can go to the Benchmark High Speed Ring whenever you want. Offline or online.
However. Forza 3 has been buili mainly for online so if you dont have online you will be missing out on probably 90% of the games features.

Sweet. I'm alright with the online, I still have an account (at least until November anyway) so I don't have a problem with that. I would have had a problem with online-only free roam though.

Well technically you can always free roam wherever you want offline or online. :sly:

I wonder how you "choose" the "free roam" option when the course selection shows a butt load of stock car-like tracks. Just curious.

I am also wondering how it will work. I have not even seen any pics or videos of the 8 lane dragstrip yet. :scared:
If all else fails I guess we can just set it to a bunch of laps and try to drive around wherever we want.

Hmm with this free roam thing I'm thinking some very Ken Block esque gymkhana...especially if it's at an aeroport.

Just to say tried the demo on my new 360 and thought F3 was fine. I dont see it as groundbreaking on probably any level, but it seems pretty solid in all the important areas. Its a bummer to use the xbox controller to drive it, and no g25 support means I may just bring the 360 back to Gamestop for a refund. I think F3 is good enough to buy a used 360 for, but I dont think F3 is good enough to buy a 360 *and* a Fanatec wheel for. F3 is a very very solid, but not remarkable, sim.

for fanboys: ..yesterday i got xbox all over me ..is a hot shower good enough to remove it or is there a special solvent? I"M JOKING

I assume you knew beforehand the Xbox doesn't support the G25?

The MS Wheel is what you want to play FM3 with, not the controller.

Something people seem to forget is the Fanatec wheel is probably one of the best and THE only full FFB wheel that supports all platforms.

If I had the budget I would deffinetly get that so I wouldn't need to change wheels when changing game machine.

Yeah I knew the G25 wasnt supported going in. If F3 was astonishing I was probably going to try selling the G25 and getting the Fanatec.. another thought was just using the xbox controller and keeping the 360, but it only took 5 minutes with the demo to realize using a controller with F3 is plain silly. Looking back I (obviously) should have bought the Fanatec to start with but hindsight is always 20/20 vision. Like I say, I believe F3 is worth buying a console for, but thats where I draw the line.
Frick!!

I'm not exactly sure what it is that you're looking for.

You say you knew the G25 wasn't supported beforehand, but you complained about it saying it might cause you to bring the 360 back in for a refund. Get a Fanatec and enjoy Forza 3 that way then.

For those who may have missed it, here is a live stream.

At this point, he is currently exploring the livery editor.:)
Edit*
I think he's making a UK License plate. TBH, it's really neat how we have a grid to work with now. I think Camaroboy is going to love that. 👍

👍

The 27th can't come soon enough.

EDIT: Is it just me and my anticipation, or is he spending way too much time on that damned license plate? :D

Destructoid review: 10/10.

Forza Motorsport 3 is the new king of racers. I can safely say that I've never played a better racing game. Scalable difficulty lets anyone play, making sure that everyone from novices to pros have a good time. Drop-dead gorgeous graphics will satisfy anyone's car lust. But it's that lovingly crafted and exceptionally realistic control that wins me over. Forza 2 was already great. They've just polished it to perfection to make 3. If Polyphony Digital really does have a better game coming with Gran Turismo 5, then I'm excited, as Forza 3 is the best racing game I've ever played.

Nice.

I know it's been answered before somewhere in this thread, but I really don't feel like sifting through pages, so...

Through no fault of my own I took a bit too long to pre-order the LCE and am stuck with the standard (for the time being, I think) but are the VIP cars available to anyone through Marketplace perhaps?

Thanks.
