Wow, for the first time ever in the Forza series, this 100% fooled me as being a real shot until I saw the logo.

I'm actually not entirely sure I can believe that's not a real photo....
And people were saying that Project Cars was the best. Sure it's high quality, although it's too crisp, but that image says a lot about what next gen consoles and top tier/high level developers are capable of.

Finding weird nobody is talking about this here?

No plates and HDR backdrops, Drift car on slicks? ... in game model? I'd love to think that thats not a " tuner " model and confirmation of wide body kits/race conversions. Those dice suggest some interior customization? or are my old eyes fooling me?

The background looks strikingly similar...

Amalfi Coast anyone?

I know the car is Dai Yoshihara's new drift car for FD, would be interesting to see it in game. I actually love the v2 RocketBunny kit.

To be fair everything is compressed beyond belief!
Yeah, but it still makes me think this is just a gussied-up Forza 4.

You know, you car looks great when you're hotlapping alone, but when you're in a race, everything gets blacked-out and the aliasing ramps up ridiculously.

I mean, you could have told me that M3 footage was from a F4 DLC track and I'd believe you (except that T10 is afraid of track packs).

This makes fm4 look old and dated. Such a huge difference...wait till you see it in person. None of these YouTube videos do it justice. I was amazed when I played it.

I know it'll be a good game. I believe T10 are the current (subjective) masters of console car physics. I know the new cars and circuits will look eye-bleedingly good.

I just wish I had never read anything about laser-scanning, old assets being completely rebuilt or physics-based rendering, because those early E3 statements really built the game up to something I don't believe it'll COMPLETELY be. Although that's as much my fault for anticipating the game so much.

If you watch the video(Ferrari comes in near end of video) can actually see there are some details in the interior.

Actual photo:

The metal frame comes into view when the drivers hands are turned, and the black vent on the bottom left is visible when the light shines on it.

When faced with bright sunlight, already dark blacks like this tend to be even darker, so it makes sense as far as recreating the light sensitivity of the eye. Combine that with the fact that the video is compressed beyond reason and I think it's looking pretty good.

Not exactly up to the hype, but it's still a beautiful game and an impressive feat for a launch title even with just what I know so far. And if what people are saying about how the game looks in person ends up being true, I've still got more to be impressed by.

Yeah, I watched the stream this afternoon. The exteriors of the cars look good (better than 4), but that HDR really kills details in shadow on the interiors. I can put that down to the compression of the video as well, though.

To me, it's a case of cutting visual corners (not in a malicious way) to spare the frame-rate while bumper-cars-ing with 15 other drivers. I know that once I get that 312 T2 out on Test Track Airfield hotlapping by myself, it'll blow my mind.

Okay, that's actually pretty wild. I'm trying to figure out how it applies to every car!

I noticed there's no name of the engine in the engine swaps. Which is...really dissapointing. Can anyone tell if they're at least based on numbers from real engines?

Organizing rims by type instead of making me load through every single manufacturer one by one is a fantastic decision that should've been there since a long time ago.

(Disclaimer: My sister got a kitten that is currently blocking my view of most of the screen, so I may have just missed it.)

I couldn't see any specific engine names/codes for the swaps either, but the blurry numbers did look slightly comparable to the expected swaps. I could be wrong, but it looks like they might come from cars not (yet) in FM5, but FM4. Or even sister marques, like Lexus.

+144hp (early swell, turbocharged, likely limited - GT300 engine?)
+96hp (gentle build, very low redline, possible 3.5l?)
+125hp (even higher redline, same general lines as stock engine)

Those grid shots of Lauda's Ferrari at Yas Marina - the driver seems awfully short to drive it, barely looking over the steering wheel!

EDIT: And I hope there's a paint option for Corinthian Leather....
