No lies detected. You are describing some long standing faults. I have a feeling its basic acclimatistion to the Forza model and maybe the DS3 is making things harder.

While I have no issue with the DS3 in GT6 it would be weird to me in Forza.

I get it... the 4 races this week tend to give you an idea of how bad forza can be. Forza in the rain isnt a good thing. I usually put on ABS TC and STM on just to get around.

I mean sometimes I can race with no aids but on some tracks I need to full suite of electronics on just because the workload of battling the AI and the puddles is too much.

Otherwise in the dry there is no need for electronics.

Your comments about AI is spot on. There's basically three classes... the backmarkers which isnt revelant, the midpack and the two rabbits.

Your goal is ALWAYS to be ahead of midpack. There is no racing in the midpack, only biff bang boom and pitt especially now with Nascar.

On some tracks it is imperative. eg. Le mans, monza and especailly bathurst, you need to get well out of the midpack to have a chance at 3rd. Once the rabbits start up in clean air you have a hell of a time trying to get gold.

I personally disliked 3 of the 4 races on this weeks seasonals.

The Spa race. That was fun. I was able to just get ahead of the pack and I had a great time in the P1 chasing the two rabbits.

I think to me, that sums up Forza. I am willing to put up with 3 putrid races, in the rain, in the wet, in cars in dont like, on tracks i'm abivalent about to get a crack at good cars, good tracks and an AI that is giving me a challenge and not frustrate me.

@Bigbazz - The assists in FM6 are difficulty settings, so don't count on them simulating how the cars are in real life. I'm pretty sure the simulation comes down to numbers going into the physics engine. However, what you get in return is a lot of content once a full FM game releases Windows.

I gotta say this game is very impressive, surprisingly fun to play with a controller. The audio and visuals are top notch, and the photo mode effects make it look insanely realistic. Apex is still a bit buggy at the moment but very keen to see what happens with it and to see how the first official Windows Forza releases turn out.

Another four races...

3 laps of Yas night in LMP1 cars... which is as dire as it sounds. I chose the Audi r15 as its open top and you can see everything instead of driving a 1,000hp torpedo like the Nissan GTR LM or the Peugeot 908.

Next is 3 laps of Brands Hatch full in 1960/70s US muscle cars. This one is ok. You should smash Brands Hatch by now. Any random car will do. They all handle like crap and are fun.

Next is 8 laps of Rio short in a new Mini Cooper. Umm this one is ****. I had a lot of fun watching the AI understeer into the hairpin and ended up lapping the field.

Last one is pretty yuck too. 3 laps of Spa wet. You choice of R35 GTR or Audi R8. This one is easy once you clear the field, the AI is pretty slow in the wet, probably because they're all in rwd cars.

Also a 75mb update. The require of getting 6th or better to pass is obviously pandering to people who cant drive for shat.

I finally got around to playing around with this over the weekend.

I'm not crazy about the Tours; they feel half-cocked. But this makes sense, of course, given the "beta" status of the game at this point.

I abhor the XB1 Controller. I played GT5 with the DS3 for 2 years before getting a wheel. I don't remember the DS3 being so twitchy. It would take me a while to get accustomed to the XB1 controller. This is especially frustrating since I have a great T300 which goes unused for this game. I think I've had my fill of the game until wheel support is introduced.

But, having said all that, I like the direction this is going. If given the opportunity to get the fully supported Forza 7 on PC, I certainly will. It's a "fun" game. It isn't a sim, not even close, but I like the game aspect of it. I hope this model of bringing console games to PC catches on.

Well, I'm installing Windows 10 right now, so hopefully Apex is will happen relatively soon.

+edit
And apparently my laptop isn't good enough. ****.

CPU: Intel Core i7-3610QM
VGA: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 670M / 3GB GDDR5
RAM: DDRIII 12GB(4GB*3)
HDD: 750GB 7200RPM

Hopefully Windows 10 isn't **** and I didn't pointlessly cripple my laptop.

GTX670 should do it. You do need the latest gigabyte size W10 update (11586?) and you really want the latest nvidia driver actually from Nvidia.com

A laptop like that should do HD res. medium detail and it should look pretty much dead on with the console.

I spent the last hour searching nvidia site, dxdiag still says 11.2 and so the microsoft store won't let me download apex.

What a waste of my time off, gonna go to sleep cause I gotta work early tomorrow.

The current 3 laps of Sebring full night with LMP1 class cars makes me hate life and forza and turn10 in equal parts.

Yuck.

So I just got a EVGA GTX 1070 FTW, and can finally download and install this
Game set me up on Ultra

And I can hit 60fps no problems

But after a few hours of gaming, it starts to get really laggy!
Does this game have a memory leak or something?

Yeah, I get the exact same issues with my 1070, and my previous 280X. No idea what's causing it.

Its a beta... and it should be on win10 anniversary edition which has its own set of issues. I set the exact same instability on a 480.

And why are you playing it for an hour? There isnt really any long term content on this game. I spool it up every two weeks to see 4 new races and its a blast at 30-45 mins at a go.

Right now I'm stuck on the current GT-E 10 laps of Spa. This is a 25 min race?

Has anybody else been experiencing issues with the game crashing in such a way that it would render all of your keyboard, mouse and controller inputs useless as well as deactivate the video and audio output? The only fix for this is to restart the computer. Haven't played FM6A in a while, but I don't remember having such issues when it came out.

The game is pretty solid for me... typical CTD and hangs with the spinning circle but hey... Anniversary Edition and a beta game. I'll allow it.

I also dont do much with this PC... all it does it run the game and some limited media apps.

Does someone know if you can unlock all cars by playing offline in Apex? There doesn't seem to be a sufficiently high medal count on single-player.

You could if you do the events that they post every so often. Scoring high on them will net you 3 medals, and usually there's 3-4 events they post.

I believe medals are not rewards based on AI difficulty. You can make it easy on yourself by just running lowest AI and satisfying benchmark performances and getting all the medals.

Be that as it may, I drive at a pretty high AI level and I crash thru the races and there doenst seem to be a car I cant drive.

"DirectX Feature Level 11 required".ng

dxdiag says I have "Feature Levels: 11_0,10_1,10_0,9_3,9_2,9_1

This is so frustrating.

Since I saw that wheel support had been added, I wanted to try the game but was having all sorts of issues to download it. This worked for me so I'm posting in case anyone has similar issues.

- Download and install Forza Hub from the store.
- Update Windows 10 to the Anniversary Update.
- Run Forza Hub and select the full game.

It will now download.

So after a good couple hours with the wheel, which felt good, I have to question if I or even some of my personal friends will buy into the franchise. Part of the problem is the physics, especially rain. the puddles are enough to kill you at any speed, and some of my good racing lines are well, just enough to put you off the track.

is this normal? and is horizon 3 going to be just as much of a basket case.

oh not to mention the frame rate that dips and barely holds 57 or so, when card utilization is at 35%.

tell me this is just isolated and not Forza is the flesh.

Horizon does the normal thing for "fun" racers: You get too much grip, brakes are too good, but otherwise cars behave pretty much as they should (except for being able to drive around the open world without breaking).

So take what you see in Forza Motorsport and think if you would enjoy driving around the open world with unrealistic brakes/grip. If the answer is no, don't buy Horizon.
