Let's not over speculate on the reasons why Toyota production cars will not be part of Forza Motorsport 7. More in tomorrow's Week in Review on Forzamotorsport.net
Very good advice. We have a decision that seems incomprehensible to us, and no one is giving us a reason why, so we fill that vacuum with speculation that fits our own biases and preconceptions. The real answer is "We don't know." We may never know. We just have to accept that.

This whole situation and the resulting anger reminds me of the Porsche situation with Forza Motorsport 4. But then we knew it was because of EA and we could express the anger at them. Turn10 and Porsche appeared to be innocent bystanders. And with VW's absence in Horizon 3 we thought it was Dieselgate, but we can't be sure. But know we just don't know how Toyota and Turn10 failed to reach an agreement and there is nothing to suggest a reason. Let's leave it there and hope it will resolve itself at some point in the future.

There is one big positive point though. It's how Microsoft/Turn10 dealt with this:
- With Porsche in FM4 and VW in FH3 Turn10 kept us in the dark for weeks or even months. Now Microsoft give a statement to AR12 on the very same day as the JDM Forza Garage article was released.
- This could of course have been done better if Turn10 just released a statement themselves on their website, but maybe they don't want something negative in their reveals, which is understandable.
- And there will be more tomorrow in Week in Review.

I also thought that reasoning was bit suspect, I'd still love to have a Prius or Camry(which is a surprisingly fast car in it's premium trim) in the game.

It feels wrong to even consider Toyota wanting their new cars being a reason T10 would be against them. It's Toyota, you do what you can to please them because they are what they are. It really seems like more of an issue from Toyota's end.

It's not just Forza that's affected. It's all racing games this year, all of them only feature one road car,the GT-86, the rest appear to be racing cars or concepts.

Whether we like it or not, this situation appears to be a Toyota decision and not T10's.

The news about Toyota has hit me really hard... I abstain from believing it. I really hope there is a workaround further after release at least. Not having Toyota is a huge loss.

Just thinking of not having the Celica ST185 or the MR2's is too painful. And a race between the Mitsu GTO, Fairlady Z32 and RX-7 without the Supra just feels wrong.

VW missing from Horizon 3 was kind of painful, but as much as I love German brands, I think it will take me longer to accept the absence of Toyota. Can't really blame T10, as I've been reading. Why Toyota? Afraid that people will notice how amazing you were, and how you are not anymore? I personally don't care. I love cars regardless. Put a base Camry LE in the game next to the Supra or LFA and I will enjoy them all the same.

This also makes me wonder why Turn 10 decided on a JDM theme for the third weekly reveal. It's surely one way to make everyone notice the absence of Toyota / Lexus and rub it into our souls with capital letters. It's almost like a tease which in turn makes me hope Turn 10 and Toyota have a card up their sleeves for 2018. Long shot but miracles do happen.

Other than there being no Mitsubishi FTO and Mazda RX-7 Spirit R on the list, having Toyota and Lexus in there would have made for damn near perfect lineup of Japanese cars. With the emphasis on bringing back FM4 content, they could also have revived the MK2 Celica Supra, IS300 and SC430. :(

Serious? Just name it Super Strut, or whatever it's called, like the Super Sport models from GM.

Except T10 called it the "Toyota Celica Super Sport-I" or some such nonsense in FM6. Hmm...maybe that's what put Toyota over the edge... :boggled:

I will really miss the 40Series Landcruiser and Mk3 Supra even if it wasn't the 1JZ model if Toyota absence really ends up being the case.

Also here's hoping the wheel weight glitch with the Titan doesn't get ported over too . Last I checked that was never fixed.

Toyota would have a few bigger reasons to be pissed at Forza, including the FH3 leaks and a very noticeable brake light error on the MK3 Supra in FH3, which eventually got fixed two moths after its inclusion. On the other hand, it's not like Toyota is highly involved with other racing game developers at the moment, so the whole thing is just weird.

Guys, until we hear it from the horse's mouth, just consider it BS. Hopefully we'll find something out in tomorrow's WiR.

Are you suggesting that some media outlet would jeopardize its reputation by making up "official statements" just to stir up the waters? If not, please elaborate the BS part.

AR12 isn't exactly the most reliable source. We'll hopefully see tomorrow.
Even the admins on Forza.net locked the thread regarding Toyota being gone and stated to wait for official confirmation from Turn 10. So yeah, it's still definitely up in the air.

Exactly this, the mods over at the official forums stated this source has given out incorrect information before. That site is run by a YouTube personality, who claims to have spoken with a Microsoft rep (IGN claimed the same thing in their article) and wrote up an article.

Other news outlets have out given AR12 and IGN as their sources, something is definitely up with something, be it false info or Toyota.

As I said in the official forums, anyone can say they spoke with someone and fabricate a quote. We should just wait and see what the official report is when the Week in Review is released.

I have no clue how credible they usually are, but you'd have to be suicidal by fabricating an official statement. I won't deny there's more to the story than what we've seen, so let's hope there's a twist to calm our nerves.

Do the moderators over there know much more about Turn 10's inner workings than the average poster does? I get that the source lacks credibility, but locking the thread mostly came across as damage control.

I believe quite a few of them have a bit more responsibility than just moderators and communicate directly with T10.

A lot of Official Forums will put up a thread weeks in advance and then lock and hide it from the general public so instead of posting a new announcement every time something happens they can hit a button and reveal it. Mods and Admins would be able to see such a thread, while you or I would not.

Most youtubers like to generate interest in their own branding. I wouldn't say it's out of the ordinary, but I also don't know if most go as far as to fabricate something like that.

They tend to lock threads a lot because that forum in general can be a huge cesspit at times. Most other times there's already a discussion on it somewhere else as well.

Off the Toyota thing for a second...

I see a lot of people complain that cars come and go in the Forza series.
I see a lot of people complaining that it seems like Forza is putting all the cars that left the series back in FM7, instead of new content.

So...ummm...I'm getting the impression Forza fans are spoiled as hell. Can't blame them, but putting all the cars that went missing back in seems fantastic to me.
If anything, paying for dlc for most of the new to series cars simply makes more sense, rather than offering previously included cars for paid dlc, doesn't it?

I don't know, maybe it's because of not having all the titles, maybe it's because I'm not used to all the car candy, but color me happy.

Even then if Toyota and Lexus production cars are screwed, I sure hope the TS040 Hybrid makes it into the game, the LMP car that I love the most with all my heart and soul, and raced so much with it. This is a very good idea considering that there will be Toyota race cars, it's just a shame that the road cars are getting the axe.

So, I see the 928 is finally going o be in the game.

Now, rationalising buying the game, just for that car. Otherwise, I would not be getting FM7.

It's like buying a scale model of the car. Only thing is, I can use it virtually, than looking at it on a shelf in real life. :D
$140 1992-porsche-928-gts-in-118-scale

$140 for Ultimate Edition. Hmm...

Great to see Watkins Glen and the Mclaren MP4-12C coming back :)

Ah, called it. American cars it is!

Easily the biggest surprises of the list:
2016 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport
2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392
2015 Ford Mustang GT

Turn 10 hasn't dumped the lower-performing models for the highest-spec ones. There's no C7 Stingray, but still... neat.

Glad to hear the 22B has been re-sourced. Easily one of the worst-quality models in the previous games, so I'll be looking forward to checking it out.
