Nope. The Eagle had a production based 2.1L turbo four-banger and was built to IMSA GTP regs, which didn't have Group C's limits on fuel usage.

Might as well pronounce this game as "Fortza" rather than Forza, because this race car list looks quite disappointing and somehow lazy, with only four IndyCars, nine NASCAR vehicles, one Super GT car and a lack some of the newer and older, more respectable cars (only V8 Supercars, NASCAR, IndyCar, Formula E and others)

, three pre-war GP racers, two 1950s, six 1960s, three 1970s and two 1990s F1 cars, one contemporary F1 car (which is the maximum number apparently allowed for non-F1 games), three Can-Am cars, three 1970s sportscar, one Group 4, five Group 5 and five IMSA GTX/GTO cars, 7 LMP1s, two IMSA GTP car, six Group C racers, and... Am I forgetting anything? I'm pretty sure I am.

I get the lack of impressive new additions may be a bit demoralizing, but it'd be absolutely unfair to say that the FM7 carlist lacks in variety, and it's the largest out there - hard to call it "disappointing" when people are gushing and salivating for car games which struggle to reach the magical threshold of 200 cars.

A bit disappointed there's not more BTCC cars and the the only 2017 one is Morgan's A-Class. I like that the Indycars are still in but would have preferred to have the 2018 universal aero kit test cars in this year.

An okay list of race cars overall.

The car list to me at this point is a love-hate type of thing..more hate then love. There are so many good omissions going from forza 6-7 such as the lotus f1, a few good gt3 cars and some classic f1s plus handfuls of road cars excluding toyota. But they have added a few decent standouts most notably the Toyota eagle mk3, I didn't see that coming but it's a nice imsa gtp addition. And rather then they expand on some of these race classes they just simply ported over from either fm4 or horizon 3 which makes me say "whyyyyy"?. We need an updated gt3 roster and definitely need to fill out gt4 class. More modern f1s would be real nice too just so many cars they can add it looks like a missed opportunity. I'm sitting back and waiting at least for the first few dlcs before I purchase.

• the multiplayer is clean,
• and the community tools are robust

I don't care what or how many cars/tracks are in the game.

F1 2017 has 32 cars and I have had some amazing races so far. Not once did I with for 668 more to be added.

That being said, I'm in the minority and likely not Forza's target consumer anymore.

Same engine, but the Horizon games give you much more grip all-round. Lateral grip is greatly increased as well as overall responsiveness of the front end (FWD cars don't really understeer all that much).

Collision physics are somewhat better than what you get in Motorsport as well; you can take a hefty knock to the side in an online race and not be sent spinning towards the nearest tree.

Anyways, someone over at the fm.net forums confronted the current car list (including the cars announced today) with the infographics released with the Autoblog announcement and found out that we have 12 Australian, 6 British, 8 Japanese, 1 Italian, 10 German and 9 American cars missing, for a total of 46. What's really noteworthy is that there are only 14 announced Aussie cars, which means that any road-going Holden or HSV would have to get a Forza Edition for this to even make sense: so either this guy is seriously wrong (I haven't thoroughly checked his math, tbh, although it adds up for the Australians, at the very least, unless Ford AU products have been counted as Australian, too), or something's quite wrong with the information we have at this moment. And T10 is yet to release the official announcement, which adds up to my suspicion that something fishy's going on.

Could we get a "FM7 has gone gold" article two weeks from now? Could it be that we were going to get one last announcement, but T10's PR department is gauging the (predictably) negative community reaction to this week's Forza Garage and considering to shift content around to soften the blow to pre-order sales?

I don't know. Hopefully we'll find out what the truth is soon!

IIRC they aren't all that different, Horizon has different tyre properties to Motorsport and the ground is grippier but the rest of it is supposed to be the same. Obviously the changes are felt but they aren't so deep they are two entirely different physics engines.

At this point, I'm not expecting much. I wouldn't be surprised if the remaining cars are all Forza Editions that we can otherwise create in-game ourselves.

To be honest, at this rate I am planning to wait until I see how the DLC packs looks before thinking about getting FM7.

If a game launches with "700+" cars and the first thing people talk about before the game is even out is DLC then I think that says enough about how underwhelming the entire car list really is. I mean it's a decent list if you look at it from an isolated point of view, but coming from previous Forza games there is barely anything new.

Over at the Project CARS forums people seem a LOT more excited about their 200 cars. Quality over quantity I guess.

All joking aside I simply fail to grasp how this game does not have any updated current gen GT race cars over FM6 other than that reworked Bentley. There has to be a catch here and a bunch of cars must be kept secret and revealed in the game or something (similar surprises are rumored to be in PCARS 2 as well and that car list could actually have a dozen more unrevealed cars unlockable in the game).

I did get the UE preorder so maybe I shouldn't even care but if these new GT race cars start appearing as soon as the first DLC packs are released then that are some serious dirty money-grabbing practices by Turn 10 / Microsoft.

If you rewind time by one year the weekly car reveals for FH3 were awesome, each weekly story covered articles and screenshots of a handful of completely new to the franchise cars. This entire 7 week reveal has been pretty pathetic in comparison. Barely anything new, lousy articles, a whole week wasted on Forza Edition copy/paste cars and now what supposed to be the creme de la creme reveal is just another disappointment. Seriously, what's going on Turn 10? Last year I was super excited about FH3, this year I'm super excited for PCARS 2 and I'm happy the wait for FH4 will only be 1 more year. And FM7... well I did eventually preorder it due to that Hoonigan combo deal but something other than a "let's check it out" mentality you won't find with me. The contrast with last year's FH3 hype could not be any bigger.

The main page from the Forza website didn't even get an update, normally that always gets an update the day a third party website reveals a list. Either Brian is still on his way flying from Gamescom to the US or else he is just as underwhelmed with it as we are.

For all intents and purposes, they are new because they are significantly different from their 360 counterparts with full Forzavista function, lights, wipers etc.

Anyway, PCars 2 is looking most appealing to me in many ways and even GTS will have it's unique cars like the GT86 GRNM and Peugeot 208 GTI and RCZ.

At this point, I'm not expecting much. I wouldn't be surprised if the remaining cars are all Forza Editions that we can otherwise create in-game ourselves.

I think T10 considers Ford AU cars as American (same as Ford UK cars), and that's where the claim of 12 Australian and 9 American cars missing stems from. It is somewhat possible that we may get another 46 Forza Edition cars, and that they may have been counted towards the final car count (but then, wouldn't they have been announced either last week or today?), and it's very likely that it's just the infographic that is wrong - and besides, I'd be hard-pressed to think of 14 Australian cars worthy of being added to the game on release.

All I'm saying is that something really doesn't add up here, and that it'd be interesting to see how this discrepancy came to be - while reminding people that we got an eleventh hour announcement in the past. Although at this point, I'd be interested even to just see what they came up with to get 46 FE cars in the game.

If you rewind time by one year the weekly car reveals for FH3 were awesome, each weekly story covered articles and screenshots of a handful of completely new to the franchise cars. This entire 7 week reveal has been pretty pathetic in comparison. Barely anything new, lousy articles, a whole week wasted on Forza Edition copy/paste cars and now what supposed to be the creme de la creme reveal is just another disappointment.

That's a point I completely agree on. Whether FM7 will end up launching with an underwhelming car list or there will be some unlikely last-moment, bacon-saving grand reveal, T10 clearly dropped the ball on building up hype for the game. And in a world were presolds are becoming increasingly important, this may end up hurting them considerably.

But then, I've been saying for quite a while that the guys in charge of the Forza series PR should be taken to a dark room and beaten with a stick just enough to wake 'em up a bit.

Regardless, still excited. Perhaps not quite as much as when Forza 6 came out but still looking forward to the return of the 360 eras!

Nope the list was supposedly retweeted by Dan the man himself so that means no more surprises also means that indeed the forza edition cars counts towards the car list along with the fast and furious cars and that right there equals about 714 cars.....big ol slap in the face.

I would venture to guess, with PD change in direction, this may have gave T10 a some room to breath, allowing them to go back and spend time touching up cars and tracks, bringing in dynamic effects etc,. I would imagine if PD had taken a different course, making a tradition GT game, we might have seen more new cars & tracks from T10, but this is just speculation.

They are apparently touching up some of the old cars... eh. Honestly this whole group of games (PCARS2, GTS and FM7) seem kinda weak.

PCARS2 seems more like PCARS1.5, FM7 feels like FM6.5 and GTS feels like GT7 Prologue.

Seems like PCARS and FM are just making fixes and improvements while GTS is just trying to actually release a game.

Nobody is saying anything about "revolutionary gameplay", just not enough new content.

The new livetrack looks awesome but take that away and you got nearly all the same cars and tracks from PCARS plus some cut content (ovals) and rally cross.

Like, if they delayed PCARS for another 6 months everything but the new livetrack would probably be in.

Considering the massive amount of content PCARS had in terms of tracks, it kinda feels meh with so few new ones.
