The car list's final number is 712 cars (most likely 719 with the Hoonigan DLC, and over 720+ with the day one car pack), as seen on the infographic on Forza's website, so here's to having some hope (as long as they are not these infuriating bull:censored: Forza Edition cars, considering that they don't deserve to be counted on the car list) that the remaining cars (from 671 cars) are as good as they could possibly be, especially if it could be race cars.
This would mean that 41 cars remain, and I hope it will fill certain gaps, especially with that of IndyCar, NASCAR, Super GT and some other surprises.
I guess Turn 10 have a fancy new definition for "final", as the "final" list is incomplete:
I still suspect that the 30 unannounced cars are a combination of Forza Editions, rare cars from the Specialty Dealer and rewards for completing stages in the Forza Drivers Cup.
I pulled some data out of my own racing spreadsheets. The game has about 622 unique car models at launch. That is without any livery duplicates, without any Forza Edition duplicates, without any DLC content and with giving Turn 10 the benefit of the doubt on some cars when I wasn't sure if the new model would be a slightly altered car or just a new paintjob (for example I counted the 2015 Formula E and 2017 Formula E as 2 different cars, same with 2017 Honda and Chevrolet IndyCars, the 3 NASCAR brands and a few other cars. So I expect the real number to be slightly lower (once the game is out you can check out the stats and find the copy/paste cars easily). Might I also add that 620-ish is still a very impressive number. Yes FM6 had 600+ cars as well but that was post-DLC and with all copy/paste cars included.
Below is the list of car models new to XBox One Forza games, so they weren't in FM5, FM6, FH2 or FM3 yet or they don't replace a slightly different model (more on that later) :

Below is the list of updated or changed car models, you gain a car but you lose one as well. So each car on this list comes at a cost of losing one, For example the new Renault R.S. 17 comes at the cost of losing the Lotus E23 that was in FM6. For both NASCAR and V8 Supercars I believe the new 2017 car models are identical to the 2015/2016 in FM6, just different paintjobs. For IndyCar I'm not sure so I give that the benefit of the doubt.
2012 Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged (return from FM5, replaces 2014 model so the difference with the 2015 Sport SVR is bigger)
2017 Chevrolet IndyCar (replaces 2015 model)
2017 Honda IndyCar (replaces 2015 model)
2017 Renault R.S. 17 (replaces 2015 Lotus E23)
Below is the list of unique cars that were either in FM6 or FH3 and that won't make a return in FM7. Of course duplicate liveries or cars from the updated list above do not count. I also left all Fast & Furious, Hot Wheels, Hoonigan, the Warthog, the Regalia and Fallout 4 Rocket out.

All things considered the FM7 car list isn't bad, but it could have been better. Some final thoughts :
* losing all Toyota & Lexus road cars as well as most Toyota race cars is a HUGE disappointment.
* not having more up to date modern GT or touring race cars (2016 or younger) is a big disappointment.
* if I compare the first list (new to XBox One) with the last list (missing from FM6/FH3) then I can't help but feel that FM7 is losing some important race cars from FM6 which are not really replaced by other interesting race cars. Instead the new cars are almost all road cars and while I never played FM4 myself (where most of these cars come from) I did Google every single one of them and the cars are in general not all that appealing for me to be honest (with a few exceptions of course).
Still, even after the underwhelming garage week 7 reveal I decided to not cancel my pre-order. But in all fairness the contrast of the hype and excitement of FM6 2 years ago and FH3 a year ago compared to how I now look at the arrival of FM7 couldn't be any bigger. It has even come to the point where I'm not even interested in giving the demo a try (where last year I couldn't wait to come home from work and give it a try).
With an alleged 52 cars left to go to complete the list I decided to speculate a bit. Results are in the spoiler.
These first few cars are what I see sadly being cut simply because I don't have a place to put them
2004 Audi #5 Audi Sport Japan Team Goh R8
2003 Bentley #7 Team Bentley Speed 8
2015 Volvo #33 Wilson Security Racing GRM S60
These are the cars I see as prizes based on cars we've had over the past few years. (A lot of cars from FM5 are missing due to me not really remembering them and kind of rushing this list)

True. But even in the best case scenario (7 "11th hour DLC" cars coming in from FH3, plus an eventual "Gone Gold" announcement), T10 needs to go Old Yeller on their PR guy.
Anyways, apparently Toyota road cars won't feature in Need For Speed Payback, either. At this point, I think it's pretty much certain to assume that the lack of Toyotas in FM7 is the product of an unilateral decision from ToMoCo.
So with that infographic pointing to 714 cars in the game, and 668 cars announced so far (not counting the 5 Forza edition VIP cars, the Ford GT F.E & the Hoonigan DLC, since Turn 10 have never counted VIP/DLC/Pre-Order content on there day one car counts, we'll get to the F.E later) means we are at least 32 cars short.
If we take that 714 number to not include the Hoonigan/VIP Car Pack we're at these numbers to make it up to 714
Now depending on if T10 are counting Forza Editions as separate cars (let's assume they are), you can port a lot of the FH3 ones to fill these spaces, including the already announced Ford GT F.E and these F.E spotted in this picture
You can see the:
1997 BMW M3 Forza Edition
2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR Forza Edition
1968 Dodge Dart HEMI Super Stock Forza Edition
2000 Nissan Silvia Spec-R Forza Edition
2013 Subaru BRZ Forza Edition
If I was a betting man I'd be putting all my money on the last championship prize being the Ford GT Forza Edition. Anyway the revised count is now
If we look at all of the Xbox One Generation content not in FM7, we can actually fit these lists pretty perfectly.

This list could easily be a look at perhaps the timed vendor/speciality dealer cars, or Forzathons, or league exclusive reward cars. I don't think they'll be career rewards; since we've already had a look at some of the showcases (and all of there cars are announced on the official list, like the XTS Limo) and the championship rewards are already confirmed to F.E's as by the photo above.
Even if you add in all of the Horizon editions from FH3, you're still left with these numbers left over

Of course they could fill the extra 24 here with new Forza Edition cars, or even better, New to Forza cars. I doubt the latter, but it'll be interesting to see how the final roster plays out.
Another point to make; we're atleast 2 manufacturers short. T10 have said there are 90+ manufacturers in the game, and with the current list we are at 89. So there is at least going to be some cars that aren't Forza Editions in this final 30-40ish to 714.
And even more of the same Horizon Editions from FH3. They couldn't even be bothered to give them new paint jobs. This is a Motorsport game, so would it hurt to make them look more like race cars at least?
If the only Forza Editions in the game are the ones ripped out of FH3, I'm going to be pretty disappointed.

Both of these were announced in the Week 7 list, but if you look at the full list of announced cars throughout all the weeks (in the article), these cars aren't there. They are replaced by;
Probably nothing, but maybe the two 2017 models weren't meant to be announced yesterday, and are actually part of the gone gold announcement focusing on mainly new metal. For reference, these were the cars revealed for FM6's gone gold announcement;
· 1979 BMW #6 BMW Motorsport M1 Procar
· 2015 Volvo S60 Polestar
· 2014 Audi #45 Flying Lizard Motorsports R8 LMS ultra
· 2014 BMW #5 Ebay Motors 125i M Sport

After thinking about it, I kind of like not knowing every car in the game as it builds some suspense. In fact I will probably avoid this section until after the game releases in order to preserve the surprises.
So until than, goodbye and hopefully they will make up for an otherwise lackluster car list thus far.
One thing the past 2 months of Turn 10 reveals has learned me is to not expect anything or you will be disappointed anyway. So for all I care or believe the missing cars are the Horizon Edition copy/pastes from FH3.
The cars that have been revealed in the Forza Garage series represent the majority – but not all – of the 700+ cars that will available in the game at launch; as we mentioned in Week 6 of the Forza Garage series, there are a number of Forza Edition cars that have not been announced. The entire collection of cars will be available at launch, and players will be able to try out any car featured in the game via Free Play. In addition, as we discussed at Gamescom, there are lots of ways to earn cars in Forza Motorsport 7 – including buying them with credits as you normally would, purchasing them via the Specialty Vendor and the Auction House, or earning them through the Forza Driver’s Cup campaign, via level up rewards, as gifts for events like #Forzathons.
It doesn't explicitly say all of the remaining cars will be F.E's
Also, we're still at 89 manufacturers (not counting Hoonigan as they're pre-order DLC) so at least two manufacturers need to be added in order to fulfill the 90+ manufacturers line from T10.

I really think the 714 number is to be believed, and remaining cars are previous Xbox One Forza cars, not FE cars. The numbers line up pretty easily, and there are a couple reasons to believe this:
- I don't think anyone is making date typos in the list because there are too many cars to do bother hand typing at this point, so they're almost certainly picking the wrong dates from a spreadsheet. That means that both years of the Bentley and Merc racing cars seen so far in the lists are all in. (Also, the Subaru Rally cars shown in the week's list aren't in the long "announced" list, so that 670 number is all sorts of messed up).
- It seems unlikely that they'd have added the Warthog, Chryslus, and Regalia to previous Forza games and and not carry them over to FM7, so add those in.
- Counting Hot Wheels helps get to the 714 number. Not revealing these now makes sense to me because they're fantasy/custom like the ones above, and would make sense being revealed together.
- Trying to count previous HE cars as the FE cars doesn't match the 714 number easily, unless there are all sorts of different FE models this time, while taking into account the cars we're assuming are above.
- In FH3 the launch number was 350+. The final garage week listed 356 plus 15 DLC models from VIP and Day One car packs, but it didn't list any HE models. And the Warthog was announced a week later with the Gone Gold announcement.
To that end I've put a ? in the FM7 column in my spreadsheet to indicate the cars I think are in the mystery roster. I'm assuming there are 6 series per Championship, one with prize car each (and the extras for something else, maybe Showcase awards.)
The one oddity to me with counting the 41 previous Forza cars in the 714 number is that it pushes the manufacturer count from 89 announced so far up to 100 (because of Sunbeam, Talbot, Hot Wheels etc). On the other hand, if you mostly use FE cars to fill the remainder, there's one extra HE manufacturer that would give us the magic 90 number: MG Metro. But if the manufacturer number is 90, then they're not counting AMG, Chryslus, and Quartz. None of this makes it easy to reliably guess the final model list.
Was the 90 number mentioned in an interview? I haven't seen that in print anywhere.
“Forza Motorsport 7 will feature more than 700 cars at launch, including 90 manufacturers and hundreds of additional licensed brands,” a Microsoft spokesperson told IGN. “While Toyota production vehicles will not be included in the game, there will be a number of Toyota race cars featured in Forza Motorsport 7.”
If the remaining cars are F.E then it's a bummer. So many weird exclusions. Why didn't they keep the Charger Hellcat? Why is there no SLR McLaren AGAIN? I'm pretty dissapointed. I have sold Forza 6 some time ago. I'm okay with not that many new cars, the list is insanely huge and I didn't play the other games that much (FM6 and FH3 since Christmas 2016, never had the x360 sadly) so there are lots of cars that I never used yet. From what I can see it lacks so much stuff that was in the previous games, Toyota being the biggest wound on the game's roster.
