Forza Motorsport 7: General Discussion

I don't know what people expected in terms of news, as it's early days. I'm quite excited regardless, with the bigger team & budget.
And that they seemingly want to do more than just deliver a game with better graphics.
Wether that means an amazing new physics engine or just a set of gimmicks to sell the game remains to be seen.

I want to feel like this again for a Forza Motorsport title:
And trust me, I don't hate 7, but it has become sort of our GT6 (the only GT I've owned and played extensively): big, inflexible and sterile.
I want to hear about inspiration, not the size of the team or budget or whatever.
Excuse my little insomniac rant. :boggled:

To be fair they mentioned things like staff members wanting to make the game they always wanted to or including features they wanted to since FM2.
Anyway a bigger budget and team is very important! Just ask GT fans!

As a single player fan, I don't see *FM4 as the holy grail others do, it was a good GT knock off for it's time but apart from the intro the presentation was nothing special to me. And while I'd love them to rip off the second hand cars from early GT games, I don't think the GT lounge music presentation is the be all or end all, (as much as I like the music) I think you could make more of the Motorsport element in the presentation. *For me FM7's Free Play is the greatest thing to happen in the Forza or GT series, as it was always frustrating being limited to only being able to run that car on that track.

The FFR Beta lobby has been some of the worst racing I've experienced in FM in a good long while. It seems everyone just resorts to ramming more often than usual in it, and people try to be slick by ramming you into the inside of corners so you end up getting lap cut penalties.

People are always going to try and find ways around regulations or fixes and griefers will always find a way to mess with other players.

Really they should start looking at behavioral history and start banning people who are constant repeat offenders

Given how strong the anti-griefing systems in Forza Horizon 4 look now I wouldn't mind some of those advanced ghosting features making their way to Forza Motorsport 7.

As of this week lapped traffic is automatically ghosted, which eliminates a significant amount of griefing tactics. Some ghosting systems to handle the opening lap madness will all but eliminate traditional griefing methods.

Greatest thing Turn 10 has ever done. Ghosting lapped traffic.

Has anyone else had trouble claiming Forzathon rewards? I did the one about win a race in a Forza Edition car but in the Forzathon screen the little cog in the lower right just sits there and spins forever and nothing happens.

Last night when I was racing, Forzathon showed to be "offline" to me as an option. I think there is something wrong with it?

Is it just me or should Turn 10 and Microsoft Studios replace Top Gear circuit, Bernes Alps circuit and Rio circuit with Oulton Park, Snetterton and Donington Park. personally, I think that we need more interesting circuits and a bit of an update in the circuit count and variety.

The servers will go done every once in a while. Give it a couple hours and it should be back up again.

Completely agree about the need for an extra circuit or two. No need to replace any though, just give us something new to race on. How many cars are in this game, must be near 1000 by now, that's more than enough.

I also think they need to choose either homologated or class based leaderboards, having them both means there's some boards with just a few hundred entries on them. Personally, i think class based should go and they should concentrate all efforts on homologated, i'm fed up of racing against rev banging missile cars (which was the whole point of getting shut of them in the first place). R class is a complete joke

Just for sake of curiosity I've recorded some split screen gameplays because it's absolutely not common these days.

The graphical quality suffer on the og xbox one but.... It's a lot of fun... :D multiplayer is awesome but bashing your friend who just lost locally will never be surpassed.

Wow, V8 Supercars, stock, no assists, at Sonoma will try your patience. After 2 hours last night, trying 2 different cars, and numerous attempts, long and short course, I finally gave up.

V8 supercars need to be tuned to drive consistently. I'll go get my tune this evening and post it

*EDIT: the values (it's an old tune I can probably do better now, but I raced Bathurst with it with simulation damages and only ABS assist)

Anti roll bar f 26.84, r 12.29 (harder front to correct oversteer)
springs f 123.4, r 109.4 (default I think)
rebound f 8.3, r 5.3 (rear is softer than it should be to correct oversteer)
bump f 6.3, r 3.5 (front is harder than it should be to correct oversteer)
differential: acceleration 69% deceleration 17%

Hope you'll enjoy it

P.S: If you're interested in tuning do not hesitate to visit us in the tiny tuning workshop thread :)

This would be great. Need DTM cars again

Wait... what is this? Official DTM account is teasing DTM in Forza?!

I'm also a bit confused about that picture. Isnt that Philipp Eng's car? It has to be a picture from Zolder, but it almost looks like a screenshot.

@RaceFuchs
Yep, this is the official DTM account. I just don't know, if this is a wish, a tease or already an announcement xD

The DTM page could be referring to the BMW M3 DTM added to FM5's dlc years back. That picture though just looks like a real life picture though.

Why should the official channel say anything about Forza and show a picture of a 2019 car if there is nothing planned? This is either a pretty reckless PR stunt or a proper tease. The latter is propably more likely because honestly... why should the DTM never show up in any racing game, sim or simcade ever again? Its one of the greatest racing series out there, incredible cars, incredible drivers, great sport. DTM is looking for more international recognition and e-sports is the hot new thing for every racing series. So yeah, i guess this could actually happen.

Altough i have to say... my dream game would be a proper DTM sim made by Kunos Simulazioni.

I highly doubt this means anything guys , its merely just a throwback photo to FM5 with the 2013 m3 dtm. I wouldn't get worked up over it although it would be nice to get some modern DTM love.

Edit: upon closer inspection it kinda does look like an in game shot to be frank. I've looked at Google pics of that same 2019 m3 dtm and the headlights look more artificial here than on Google...it is interesting

It seems more like just a throwback kind of picture, the quote "The day they put DTM in Forza Motorsport." sounds to me like it's a throwback.

I mean, believe what you want; I'm just telling you what I think it is.

The BMW did come to FM5 in May of 2014, so it could just be a simple throwback. However, it does seem kind of odd to throwback to a random DLC in a game that the series itself was never a part of.
