Hmm. Guessing something could be announced later this week if they still have something planned. Maybe a new car or 2 at the race this year, not in FM7?

This is my first month of owning the game, so please forgive my noob questions.

Do we get "free" Forza cars and or car packages every month? I am still working my way through all the single player content, as it's taken me a while to get my wheel feeling right (still the in game wheel turn visually lock to lock with hardly any movement) and I had to get out of the habit of trail breaking through a corner.

Also, I am worried about trying the online content, as all I see on YouTube is people behaving like little brats, ramming and just not even attempting to race clean.

@Felix It's funny, that you mention the breaking. It's my first days with Forza and I have the feeling, that the game wants me to trail brake. I have the racing line enabled as the physics and some tracks are completely new to me and if you use the breakpoints of the line, you almost always end up trailbraking, which works finde with ABS enabled. The AI seems to do it, aswell.

Maybe someone can enlighten us (or me), if this a thing in Forza or if I should break earlier. :)

To be honest, the majority of the time the driving line is just a suggestion. There are plenty of spots where it shows full red, that you can literally just stay full throttle. Brake wherever you feel comfortable, really.

This is what I do, when I did a few laps on a track or if I know it well enough. I just wonder if Forza wants you to trailbrake more than you do in other racing games?

I guess, the answer is no and I should disable the line. :)

I just leave it on because I don't tend to stick to just one vehicle. I'm constantly building and switching.

It seems to depend on the car with me. I tend to trailbrake with some the the GT Racing Reborn cars because it seems to help the rear end rotate around a little better.

You don't need the driving line turned on, as you can see the tyre marks/driving line as a darker section of the asphalt.

I was driving the BMW Z4M (a car I own in real life) and it's rear end was so unstable, it was all wrong.

Depending on how different you tune cars, the braking point for each could be significantly different. In that case, like me mentioning constantly tuning and driving different cars, driving line definitely comes in handy specifically because I intentionally switch up my cars very often.

After the MS E3 i can finaly post some images of Forza Motorsport 8
ladies and gentlemen here is your first look at Forza Motorsport 8 running on Scarlet with ray tracing

Im joking  but at the same time im not. Its the same car model whe have right now(look at the interior shot and the polygons of the buttons), but its uses ray tracing for lighting, shadows and reflection wich the next Xbox supports. This is how i expect FM 8 Forzavista to look

FM7 is so inert now… and any new game is about year and a half away (when the Scarlett console debuts). I wonder how will they rekindle interest in the game in the months to come... Maybe take a page from Polyphony and do a Prologue!

I enjoyed the communication T10 has done here, and as someone said during the stream, they should applaud for speaking out to the community.

I don't mind if August is the last update for FM7, because the FRR feature will be too much work and I could understand T10 not spending any more time implementing a grouping system or whatever feature like in GTS into it at this time. Better to get it ready for the next game though, which I assume will be HUGE for the online side of things.

The tracks bit in the steam was my favorite, and it seemed like they acknowledged the fact that we needed more tracks in FM7, but it was said by Chris that licensing real tracks was tough for them. So they spoke about the fantasy tracks in the Q/A, as well as other important bits.

I won't spoil any more stuff, so anyone reading this should watch the video above. I'm sure you'll come to like it and (may) understand T10 too. ;)

Anyways. More fantasy tracks for the next game, such as Camino, Rally di Positano, New York, Rio Circuit (the FM1 ver.), Fujimi Kaido, Sedona, Iberian, Ladera and so much others! There are so much that needs to come back in FM8, seriously.

The track response was definitely enlightening, with him talking about trying to include fantasy tracks & real tracks, and the attempt at seeing if they could include a full IMSA selection of tracks. Looks like they'll be making more of a push for that in FM8 based on his comments on whether or not they can do it now or later.

The whole IMSA tie in really never amounted to much, at least in this game. I was hoping by now we would have seen current generation DPi's and at least an attempt to modernize GTD's with Huracan, Ferrari 488, Mercedes AMG GT, Acura NSX, etc. Maybe for FM8 they might actually try to make at least a partial resemblance to IMSA.

Same here I was really looking forward to more modern IMSA cars especially DPI's and at least 1 more track like mid Ohio. But all we got was around half a dozen or so classic and modern GT IMSA rides.I feel like in nearly 2 years it was a missed opportunity but let's hope for FM8 they fully take advantage of the partnership and include what has been asked for and what's needed for true motorsport.

Talking about delivering an authentic motorsport experience is encouraging.
Plus it sounds like they're not finished borrowing from the GT series, with track updates for the next game and intriguingly mentioning how a fantasy track could help players learn about things like car control or race regulations.

I'd love to see a return of the Sidewinder Proving Grounds from FM3.

I would of suggested signing off with a new track inspired by those for FM7. It would of been a nice gesture and good PR, plus it was quite a plain track, so shouldn't of been too time consuming to make. While it was rather cheeky of them selling that as DLC for 3 when it had already appeared in 2! - I would of happily paid for it again for 7!!

Chris Esaki asked on twitter what your preferences are, in regards to fantasy tracks, let your ideas be known:

Personally, I'd love old favorites with modern options (night/weather), but at the same time, I'd like some new ones too, Japan especially.

On real-world tracks, which historical or prototype tracks would you want to see:

"Esaki went on to say that it wouldn’t fantasize real-world circuits outside of possibly exploring historical or prototype variations of tracks, using the Nürburgring-Nordschleife course in Germany as an example. “It’d be amazing to bring those experiences back, but that’s as far as you’d want to go with a real track,” he said. Naturally, it hasn’t been confirmed if the next Forza game will feature historical or alternative track variations, but it made for some insightful discussion, nonetheless"

Microsoft is friendly with Nintendo now, right? I say we get Rainbow Road in FM8.

In all seriousness, for as much of a mess as FM7 was for a while, I appreciate how open and receptive to feedback Turn 10 have been. This goes for Playground as well. All of Microsoft's major first parties, actually, seem to make it clear that they really listen to what their communities are saying - even if that doesn't necessarily mean immediately DELIVERING everything they want.

I think FM8 has a decent chance to be great, if they implement lessons learned from this generation, and build on what they did post-release with FM7.

Also, I'd like to see the next Forza just be called "Forza Motorsport", with Microsoft announcing it as a generation-long PLATFORM they will add to over the years. New cars, new disciplines, new tracks, new modes - some free, some paid, depending on what makes sense You could even do bi-annual "Version 2.0, Version 3.0" updates or whatever that are gigantic expansions - but all adding to the same base game. Keep everything together. You can even dole out the odd facelift for the game, if the visual tech of the engine gets more refined over the generation.

A single Scarlett Forza game, with eventually thousands of cars, dozens of tracks, every major racing discipline, a career mode with ongoing updates, and what would eventually be the biggest, most robust multiplayer component ever. Let's do it.

I wish I can Like this post over and over again. Hats down to you my friend. 👍

Another July 4th come and gone, and the July 4th-themed Safe and Sane driver's suit remains locked. The Christmas-themed Ugly Sweater Party suit has been around for two Christmases, but it remains locked. Only one more update to go. Turn 10, if you're reading this, it sure would be a nice parting gift to the players if you could unlock the remaining suits with the last update. All suits. There's no need to keep anything exclusive at this point. Thanks.
