It’s definitely not an in game shot, and it’s not the M3 model that was in FM5. Even with editing in photo mode, it would be incredibly hard to get that level of realism while keeping such a low level of light and high level of contrast. Plus, looking closely, the car has its number on the window (Which cant be done in the paint mode, but have had cars in the past with window stickers on the original car model), and it’s LED race position display on the passenger window. All cars in FM that have had LED number displays have never had the display turned on in game, and in the photo it is turned on and showing a 5.

It’s strange for DTM to post it on their social media, but honestly I’m not going to make much of it. I just feel like it was a wishful thinking sort of post, which was poorly thought out.

Yeah, like @LumpiestFish pointed out, this is NOT the 2015 BMW from F5. That car had a M Motorsport livery and it was never officialy named a DTM car. The picture shows the newest DTM BMW driven by Philipp Eng.

This pic as a throwback would be very odd. Thinking about it, the new Indycars were teased / mentioned long before the offical announcement...

Is the FOV adjustable in Forza ?
Only really tried the demo to see what it looks like as I use PC2 as my go to sim.
But a few of my mates have fun online in Forza so I thought I'd give it a go with them.

Also what wheel settings do you recommend for a T300 ?

400 Million CR !!! I'm at about 2950 Driver level. Soon to reach 3000.....

How do you check your driver level?
Go to the Achievements window. On the left side you'll see Achievements and Stats, move the cursor over and select Stats. Total Time Played, Driver Level, Livery Rating, and Number of Cars are ranked among your friends.

Hey, I tried to add you as a friend but I couldn't find you. You can add me, as my tag is AlienDeathRay15

Probably one of my biggest faults is my temper. I admit it, not going to hide it, the things that would be trivial to most people drive me completely insane and the other thing is that it makes me very stubborn at times. This is one of those times. 3 nights ago I had the brilliant idea to try and run a 15 lap GT division race at Suzuka on Pro difficulty. 3 nights later and about 20-25 attempts and I'm still trying to win this thing. I've tried both Ferraris, the '17 Aston Martin, and now I'm trying old faithful the Ford GT since it has just a little grip and the others absolutely do not.

I'm not running any other race until I win this. I've started in the front of the field and been mauled in turn 1. I've started towards the back and been bumped off either in the Esses, going into Degner 2, 2nd half of Spoon, tried to out brake the AI at Casio only to have them turn into me.

Most of my race abandons have been because of this.

I finished a "career" best 3rd tonight and I think I had a great shot to win but you cannot approach these stupid AI cars late in a race because they will go bezerk and nerf you off track. I've got one more night to attempt this because I'm moving of Friday and will be too busy this weekend to do much of anything fun.

I added you last night.

Tonight I can't get any race at any track in any car to start. It will give the "arriving at" whatever track then that message will disappear and you're supposed to be in the car and ready for the start but the screen stays frozen on the view of the track and it will never change. The background music still plays and I can see little things like flags waving but the race never starts.

This is on Xbox One X with a digital copy of the game and I have hard rebooted the console but it still does the same thing. The only way to get out is to hit the Xbox home button and quit the game.

**EDIT** After about another 10 tries it finally snapped loose and the race loaded up and started. But after the race finished before the podium ceremony, it went back to the dashboard asking me if I owned this game or app and my wheel spun over to a 90 degree angle. Once I answered yes the wheel snapped back into normal and the podium ceremony ran, credits paid out, etc. Very strange.

I think this is the first monthly update without a free spotlight car in about a year and a half? Or ever?

You're not alone.
I can't get on with the AI at all. In fact I set them to new racer in a hopeless attempt to just stay the hell away from them but that proves meaningless in most cases as on new racer they are very fast.
Forza 7 is a sim driver, not a sim racer you can't race these fools.

The only reason I still run it is it looks so good, and the ffb is decent on my fanatec after the December update.

I like the game alot, I'd like it alot more if the AI weren't so aggressive and we could adjust FOV.

I am not a good driver but I can race with the AI even on very long races.
I set AI aggression to OFF and then I learned how they work.

1) leave them space, unless you stay side by side with them for a couple of turns they will not back up
2) They mostly stick to the ideal racing line, know that they will follow it and anticipate. sometimes I just wait for them to switch side of the track before placing my attack.
3) watch the replay of accident to understand what happened. And most of the time you can avoid it in the future

Once you learned them, they drive quite cleanly.

Yeah the AI is t terrible per say especially with certain divisions on certain difficulties but they still need some tweaking in a few areas

I honestly can't remember what I have aggression set on. I'll have to check that and run it the opposite of what I have it on now to see if that makes a difference. But how do you handle the part about not being able to run right behind them to possibly make a pass? If you're 6 to 8 car lengths back they flow through every corner like the best driver in the history of the world. But the minute you catch up to them and ride right behind is when they all of the sudden start hitting brakes or slowing down.

I always set them up for the pass, feint to the left, they will attempt to block, I pass them from the right, and viceversa. Maybe not realistic, but it works for me.

In corners they are usually faster in corner entry but I'm faster in corner exit when I do things right. Maybe you are running on difficulty too high? What money bonus has your AI (name change with languages)?

From my experience (aggressiveness OFF) they brake under two conditions:
1: racing line tell them to. The racing line has braking points on bumps for example.
2: They are piling up with other AI

For me they go from left to right only when the racing line requires it.

Maybe activating partial racing line can help you see what they will do.

I've got difficulty set to pro. The money bonus paid at the end of a race is 20k but then it's 50k at the part where you can choose credits, a car, or race suit.

I can't remember ever seeing an AI car attempt to block when I'm setting up a pass which is so frustrating because I think I've made a successful pass just to have them turn into me while we're in the corner.

Curious what they will show. The FH4 expansion is a given, but FM8 should be to far out in theory, considering they did start later with the development than usual iirc.

However, we could see either an in-engine next gen Forza trailer or an FM7 DLC. The vage DTM tweet comes to my mind and the next gen ForzaTech was probably earlier in development than FM8 itself.

That kink of case is really worth a replay. Generally they hit you when you cross the racing line.
It takes a few seconds before they take your presence on their side in consideration (and you manage to keep up, they will slow down to be reunited with their beloved racing line :) ).
So stay clear of the racing line untill they are fully overtaken, and once you are fully ahead of them they will respect you, even when you brake.

Believe me once you get the grip on what they do races can be very enjoyable.

I think the only chance we see FM8 is if Microsoft decides to run a montage of what to expect from the next gen Xbox, and even then, it could be easily be in development footage.

Well, with Project Scarlett set for Holiday 2020, seemed surefire at that point we won't see anything about Forza 8 until a year from now since T10 normally doesn't reveal the game unless it's due that same year.

Seeing Dan with the other developers however, is a sign they've been spending time on the new hardware and will be there for launch. That will leave 2 years for a Forza title to release since FH4 launched last year, and 3 years for the Motorsport team with FM7 in 2017. Hopefully, the extra year of development for them will be special.

I'm happy to see they are actually skipping a year when it comes to a full release. Hopefully they find a way to restore the magic they had during the 360 era, especially FM4.

Even if it's just tweaks to Forza Race Regulations, the fact that they're still planning to actively support FM7 for a while longer is definitely a good thing. Especially when most games are lucky to get maybe six months of support and two or three patches before their developers abandon them.
