GTP has a "confirmed car and track list" thread, you know:
However it hasn't been updated since June. @YoungRhombus are you able to continue the updates?

Also @Famine has put a ton of work into the official GTP guide for FM2023 which includes car and track lists: https://www.gtplanet.net/forza-motorsport-2023-guide-20230611/

I didn't know, actually. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the GTP guide. Admittedly, I don't think of checking the Guides tab very often.

Yes, very much so.

I won't delve off-topic too long, but my Haha reaction is because that might be the understatement of the decade.

Hits different when you own PC2 with its historic version.
Love the FM series but hate their presentation and the way they sell the games.
I like it for the way you can drive it straight out of the box without tweaking the controller settings. The presentation doesn't bother me so much once I'm on track (or at all, to be honest) and I'm happy to have as much information as they can throw at me before the game releases.

The presentation also doesn't bother me much, as T10 are not trying to treat their game something that it's not like a 'certain' company I know. After all, it's a style of presentation I grew to appreciate from T10 compared to past forzas. Also, I really like that T10 are taking their time with the marketing, them showcasing car/track combo videos have been awesome! Things are starting to pick up speed I see.

Keep it up Chris & T10!

I haven't touched my PC2 controller settings on the XSX and I'm fine most of the time, some cars and tracks are actually more driveable out of the box than FM7! But I get where you're coming from and I kind of agree about the presentation once you're on the track.

I'm not talking about GT, PC2 is the standard for me.

I couldn't even get round the track at first.

A calendar of race events sure would be preferable to the FM6-style story-like tours, however. Guess this is their idea of curation but they really should start with ****boxes and gradually move up through the classes if they want a gripping career and a balanced sense of progression IMO. Let's hope they have a branching structure so I can skip SUVs.

Hopefully the physics are an improvement on FM7's driveability but it's the steering that I think I preferred. A little road feedback via the pad would also go a long way.

What did you play it on? Because I couldn't get on with it on the base Xbox one, so I wonder if the frame rate drops caused
problems. PC2s biggest issue for me is how wildly the difficulty can swing from race to race, so I'm hoping FM does a much better job in that area this time out. That's my biggest hope for the game.

Series X. @MrCrynox's tweaks helped me complete a lap and I felt so chuffed but I've kind of shelved the game in favour of ACC now and'll try and come back to it at some point in the future.

Honestly Maggotts and Becketts would have been better for Silverstone
Yes but I suspect the reason they chose the Hamilton Straight was because of the updated buildings and the bridges that cross the circuit. Those were added in real life around 2021/2022, and have been in the F1 games since F1 2021 (Codemasters sometimes get to see the architectural concepts before they’re built in real-life).

I still haven’t preordered this game yet. I don’t know why. I guess I’m just not feeling it. Maybe as we get closer to launch, I’ll start getting more excited, but for now, I’m kind of 50-50 on getting it.

Tomorrow's video could be make or break. Or the one after. I waved my money at them like Fry but can always yank it back and cancel should something catastrophic occur like a limited availability car dealership that's tied to real world prices, or only being able to grind car XP on one specific track on Fridays.

Oh, how I wish that includes Fuji Speedway... All those layouts.
Maybe Hakone will be about that....

When should this be available on Steam? Is there no preorder and it's only available Oct 10th?
Steam does not allow pre-orders unless they feel it's beneficial, tmu.
Our experience with pre-purchases (or pre-orders) is that they tend to be ineffective unless it’s a heavily anticipated, heavily marketed title, and even then we encourage titles to have short pre-purchase periods on Steam.

For most games, we've seen much better success if you wait until release and run with a discount off your product during the first week of sales. This gives your title the biggest opportunity to create buzz and visibility at a point where customers can actually play the game and share their excitement with their friends. Customers playing your game also means those customers’ friends are seeing them launch the game and post screenshots, discuss in the forums, etc., which can drive those other users to check out the game themselves and take advantage of the limited-time discount.

Most pre-purchase campaigns just don’t bring in much in the way of sales, and it's far better--in terms of both revenue and customer awareness--to save that buzz and excitement for when customers can actually play your game or use your software.

Running a prepurchase/preorder can also be a risk for both customers and Valve.

For these reasons, we do not support running a pre-purchase except in a few rare cases with partners with which we have a well-established relationship and that have a proven track record on Steam.
Edit* If there is going to be a pre-order for this game on Steam, it seems your best bet is to check once a week or so as it gets closer to release.

Ya, I have it wishlisted too. I guess only time will tell. Didn't know if that was only an exclusive of getting it through Microsoft/Xbox site.

ive been keeping my own list the past few months. not sure its entirely accurate but this is what i have thus far

I wonder if there will be some kind of reward/gift for past Forza experience. It has been done with quite a few titles. Don’t get me wrong, I hope we have to grind for vehicles. I do not like the throw it all at me at once system.

I am looking forward to strategically picking cars and grinding out the upgrades especially since I don’t have a ton of time to play.

The lighting feels a little stylised (going off the limited footage we’ve got so far), has the yellow-ish tinge that some circuits had in the past few games. Would like to see some different TODs and weather conditions.

The car reveals have been great though, a lot less nervous about what will be cut now, considering a lot of the novelty cars will a big portion of those.

This will be my first experience will FM, previously had always been a PS gamer and when the shortage hit putting PS5's into the unobtainium market I went down the PC path hit instead.
Don't regret that decision at all and won't go back to console gaming now as I'm invested in the PC world.
I'm looking forward to hopefully taking me back to the old days of Gran Turismo in the sense of plenty of variety cars that can be obtained and slowly built up, that's what I'm hoping for anyway.

On PC I have AC, ACC and AMS2 and enjoy them all and not looking to replace them but hopefully compliment them with FM.
I'll get it on Gamepass initially to have a look and if worthwhile purchase one on the available editions.
On that a quick question if I may, is there any content that will not be obtainable unless the game is pre-ordered, or can the bonus pre-order content be purchased at a later date?

I hope the absence of the Brabham BT45B is due to its Alfa Romeo engine and license issues with Stellantis.

But after the return of Italian part of Stellantis to Horizon, I want to believe that will be present.

What surprises me more is that the Porsche 804 does not appear.

The Porsche 804 won't be competitive enough against all these classic F1 cars, which is why it was placed in the "Forza specials" division back in Motorsport 7.

There used to be Forza Hub which did exactly that, but they got rid of it a few years ago. So no :)

FH5 still had a couple free cars for those who played past Xbox One titles, so FM may have something similar. It's just not tiered based on how much you progressed in them.
