That map got me the first interview at least :)

I know Playground at one point had it framed in the studio, and Turn 10 had one in their streaming room in the Mechberg era.

Work-wise, I ended up on DiRT Rally 2.0, and as much as I love me some Forza, rally is more suited to my skillsets and interests :)
It's great that you come to the forum and bring a different perspective to all the bickering (my bickering included.) with some more in touch perspective to the development side of racing games.

Honestly I don't get how people are so argumentative on how good a game looks. It's the gameplay that matters, not the graphics. And I assure you the gameplay should have some improvement on that forefront.
Graphics help with immersion, but I agree, they arent the be all and end all. Ultimately, how the game plays and the core gameplay loops will decide if I buy a game, and if so, how long I'll continue playing it. Not how nice it looks.

While I agree let’s not pretend that graphics isn’t a huge part of Motorsports marketing, whether that’s coming from turn10 or Xbox’s is unclear. Can’t blame people for arguing over graphics when that’s all we heard about for like 3 showcase

It isn't, though. The last two were about career, AI, physics and multiplayer. They didn't mention the graphics at all.

Arguing over graphics these days is like debating what 10/10 super model looks better. Even "bad" looking AAA titles look pretty good. The fact you need to take weird angle pics and focus on background items to even notice a major difference is pretty telling.

The only qualms with the graphics I have right now are the taillights and headlights not really looking right, you'd be surprised how often it gets in the way of my photography sessions! Admittedly, though, that's not as important as the gameplay itself.

And off that topic, I'm really eager to see more hakone screenshots or video since I don't think we've seen a reveal video for it yet?

June 2022 showcase and Jan 2023 developer direct were all about graphics with nearly 2 millions views each, the forza monthly’s are lucky to crack 100k views

Kind of my perception of it. Games developed in the last 10 years still seem to hold up really well, even something like FM4 or GT5 still look pretty good. Seems now-a-days, the goal is to up the FPS and/or put more detail in the environments than making large graphical leaps.

A personal example for me would be GTA Online's jump over 2 console generations. The graphics benefited greatly the first time from the amount of detail Rockstar was able to put into the world and currently, able to make the game run even smoother. Before then, I still thought it was a very nice looking game before Rockstar used the power of the new consoles. And I expect GTA 6 to be similar where it has the feel of GTA V, but they'll be pumping more detail into the world & slightly bumping up graphical attributes like RT or the lighting to be nicer looking.

I mean, those 2 showcases were also during a time we were starved for information.

Yes and?

My point is when there was the most eyes on forza turn10 we’re focused on graphics so people arguing over them seems fair. Not something I’m a huge fan of but can’t blame people

Comparing the viewership isn't exactly a fair point to bring up. They could've spent those showcases discussing anything but graphics and the numbers between then & now would be similar.

Besides, people don't really have an excuse on this thread where those monthlies have been discussed at length. Unless they're not interested in being informed and just want to bash the game.

It looks like Motorsport Games is set to lose the exclusive license to NASCAR: https://dailydownforce.com/report-motorsport-games-to-lose-exclusive-nascar-license/

Of course this, if confirmed, would come too late for Forza Motorsport but could maybe be good news for tracks falling under the NASCAR license and/or a possible NASCAR expansion at some point in the future. I really liked the Forza Motorsport 6 NASCAR expansion, it was so well done to present NASCAR to a new audience.

Here's hoping... The last NASCAR game I tried was Heat 5. "Last played: April 25, 2021." Yeah I wonder why. Would much rather see NASCAR content in Forza so here's hoping we get a DLC.

I truly hope that if this is true, it will simply mark the end of exclusivity for NASCAR and that it might set a precedent for other series. Exclusivity does not really benefit anyone. I don't want one game for NASCAR, another one for WEC, and yet another one for GT3 racing etc. etc.

Fingers crossed that at some point in the future, NASCAR comes to Forza Motorsport, and also to Gran Turismo and other great titles.

Garage 56 can now be a possibility.
Would definitely be a crowd pleasure! The funny thing is that when they did the NASCAR expansion in Forza Motorsport 6 they had the part of NASCAR taking on the world, including racing at Le Mans. Back then I really liked that fantasy approach and thinking it was amazingly silly, only to see the wonderful Garage 56 NASCAR entry this year being a fan favourite at Le Mans :)

I was going to talk about it, the licence is set to end around setember 30, circa 10 days before the game launch
Maybe they can arrange a deal to put the NASCAR FM7 cars in Dec or Jan update

Depends if Motorsport Games contract with lemans has that car on it

Motorsport games is collapsing. Since Nascar is looking to jump the ship.

This could also mean Indy, Lemans and Btcc jumping off.

Exclusivity is garbage. In the past we had so many f1 games from different developers.

Codemasters has gone lazy. Wrc licence is better off being done by different developers.

Porsche has learnt its lesson with the exclusivity bs with EA now Porsches are in every racing game.

It's basically reflective of an old saying: "God works in mysterious ways".

Motorsport Games' projects such as their Le Mans game, and any of their future projects, will either be failures or will never see the light of day.

We're lucky we got all or most of the BTCC content in rF2. While it never materialized into a "game", it's there to use and fun. But would have liked to see what they would have came up with at least. We're going to see the concept with Le Mans Ultimate I guess.

Does LMU have all the participants (GTE/3, LMP2 and LMH/LMdH)?

Yes, all of them as far as I know except GT3. Nothing on Garage 56 though. Which is really odd seeing as GTE class will be going. Maybe this gets updated, maybe it never even comes out. 🤷‍♂️

From Steam:
"
The Iconic Cars
Drive the latest manufacturer Hypercars from the 2023 season – bristling with the latest technology. Recreate tantalising on track battles between Toyota, Ferrari, Porsche, Cadillac, Peugeot, Glickenhaus and Vanwall. Alongside comes a competitive array of classes. Lock horns in wheel-to-wheel LMP2 combat, through to the thunderous GTE cars, as you drive for supremacy for famous brands such as Aston Martin, Corvette, Ferrari and Porsche."

It would make sense for them not to include LMGT3 as that will only make its debut in next year's season. This year's GTE full season field includes 14 cars from Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin and Corvette. The composition of next year's LMGT3 is still unclear at the moment. But they have indicated that the game would receive updates in the future.
