They usually have a tendency to include the past games' cover cars in new installments, which makes the lack of base Huracan all the more unusual.

Pretty sure that got replaced by the Huracan Evo the same way the first gen pre facelift R8 got replaced with the facelift version.

And speaking of which, so happy to see the facelift second gen R8 coming to the game, fingers crossed it gets added to FH5 too!

It looks like a lot of earlier FM5 generation cars like;

2014 BMW M4 Coupe
2008 BMW M3 E92
2014 Lamborghini Huracan
2012 Lamborghini Aventador
2010 Lamborghini Murcielago
2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition
2015 Porsche Cayman GTS

Have been cut. Which is a shame because it means we've probably lost the customization that goes with that car.

Outside of some bad car models that are using measurements and dimensions of pass Forzas, my only other gripe with the new Forza Motorsport seems to be primarily the car tuning system myself. Assuming everything I know about it is correct.

It sounds like every car has to be leveled up on its own before you can fully access all of the mods for it, you can't just buy parts right away for every car you own. That's where my issue lies, I like the idea of course of being able to have a progression system for once and I have to give Turn 10 my praise for that. The same with the career mode, I think it could potentially be one of the most fun career modes in a while.

However, I can see this tuning system becoming increasingly tedious overtime for players having to start from the bottom again on every car and constantly upgrading it. Like you'll finally have every part unlocked for the Subaru WRX S209 and be enjoying it. Later on, you might want to try modifying another car like an A80 Toyota Supra or a 1969 Ford Mustang, but you can't quite do the upgrades you want as you'll have to spend time unlocking all of the upgrades. That itself can kill the fun of customization pretty fast.

---------
Note: I recall hearing comparisons to Gran Turismo 4's progression and NFSU2's, but I honestly don't exactly agree that they're the same. The only game to compare to would be enthusia as each car had to be leveled up to lvl 10, but honestly; I didn't like that about Enthusia either. With Gran Turismo 4, you have to playthrough the game for sure to unlock cars through events, but that's it. You never had to unlock the parts for every car you unlocked; only just buy them again for another car. In NFS Underground 1-2, parts were locked behind progression, but the upgrade options were immediately available to every car once they were unlocked.

Basically, the one thing I would change about the part upgrade system is to simply make the part unlock system universal. Yes, you have to reach level 50 to unlock all of the parts, but then they would be accessible to every car. Maybe increase the level requirement to 100 or something as a balance since leveling a car up to 50 would take 2-3 hours.

Other ideas I can think of would be unlocking part upgrades for each car brand versus every car, getting every manufacture to level 50 versus every car sounds way more manageable.

They're probably saving these NTF cars as car pass content.

They seem to cut all the good ones, like the E39 and some more too. Q60 Concept didn't make it either.

There are missing so much cars from FH5 ,truly bummer

FH5 is missing a ton of things that stayed exclusive to Motorsport, that's kinda how it goes.

I will not buy the game

OK.

There are about 50+ or moree cars missing,,, why is sesto elemento missing the best car in FH5

The "best car" for what?

I will skip the Motorsport …. Love Forza Horizon for listening to the community and adding all the cars we want

You mean like the Nissan Tsuru, the most requested vehicle, which we still don't have?

Seriously, what's the point you're trying to make here? Game ain't out yet. We don't have the full car list yet, and it's all launch content, more will be added in the future.

With Gran Turismo 4, you have to playthrough the game for sure to unlock cars through events, but that's it. You never had to unlock the parts for every car you unlocked; only just buy them again for another car.

You had to grind for credits if you wanted to buy a decent number of cars + parts for each, though. Yes, you could certainly unlock a lot of good cars by playing the right races... but as I'm sure you know, you haven't really played Gran Turismo 4 if you haven't sold thousands of everyone's favorite cash cow, the Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car. :D

Jokes aside, it really comes down to how much fun you can have at any level of upgrade. I don't even think grinding is a problem either, that's normal; what's a little less normal is replaying the same easy and unengaging race to make the fastest amount of money you can reasonably make. In other words, it's gonna be all about having plenty of viable choices with the events we'll inevitably be doing for grinding in FM. Still holding out hope for a custom event creator as well.

It is absolutely disappointing to me that there's only one TVR in the game at launch. Really not quite happy with that.

I've always wondered about what's going on at TVR from a licensing point of view. The entire catalog of TVR cars, spanning back their whole history, is remarkable and full of gems few people know about, yet they barely show up in video games at all.

What's really strange is Motorfest has the Sagaris; I really hope they've not scooped up exclusive rights to the thing, I'd be heartbroken.

Errr, while you're right that GT4 had its own grinding problems. I can also say that it's nothing compared to what FM23's system could pontentially be. Based on the 2-3 hour estimate, you're looking at 10-15 hours to fully upgrade 10 cars alone. Where's the RSC Rally Raid car takes a 5-7 min at most to win and sell before being able to use it to buy some cars or buy a couple and fully upgrade them. I imagine fully upgrading 10 cars in GT4 would take less time than in FM8 based on that.
but as I'm sure you know, you haven't really played Gran Turismo 4 if you haven't sold thousands of everyone's favorite cash cow, the Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car.
You're literally quoting the guy that made a video of multiple grinding spots for GT4 ;)

In which, I found the best grind spot to be just reselling the CLK-LM actually or winning the Camaro LM or 350Z Concept LM. You just have to do 3x fast forward in b-spec model for those events and you're golden. :P

I can't fully agree with that either. I mean, I imagine grinding in FM8 will be more fun than in GT games where you have to drive on the same events again. Except for one issue, while the event variety will be better and more fun; you run into another rut of having to be stuck with the same car if you want to level up all of the upgrades. Then when that one is done, you'll have to spend hours grinding with another car. and so on.

I also think it’s close to the GT4 way of playing. The difference is that they wanted you to be able to buy more cars without cheesing but still let you have the feeling of accomplishment when using your „own“ upgraded car. So they had to separate the „car buying economy“ from the „upgrading economy“

Hence why, I said as I'm sure you know. I do watch you. ;)

I dunno. Yes, it takes minutes, but good grief is it unengaging to do these laps you know for sure you're gonna win for some 250k-ish credits, especially if you need multiple millions to score good race cars, or the Stealth Cars in the UCD. It's easy but it's unfun easy.
(At least GT4's soundtrack gave me something good to listen to most of the time.)

FM2023 on the other hand, I think we're getting hung up a bit too much on the "2 hour per car" thing. If we can adjust race/event length, something we couldn't do in games of old, not to mention we know we can adjust race difficulty and starting position for potentially more credits and possibly car XP/car points, it's already sounding a lot less tedious to me.

Again, I dunno, there's no way to for sure, we could all be completely wrong. I want to believe they've tested their own game and they've actually got something that sounds better than it looks, especially in light of the uhhh. Questionable-at-times ways they've marketed the game so far. I want to believe it's not gonna be that bad. But there's only one way to know and it's to plug the controller or the wheel yourself.

Hence why, I said as I'm sure you know. I do watch you.
Ah.

I mean, it can be unengaging I guess, but since I usually only have to do it once to buy and fully upgrade a car. I really don't get too hung up over it and you can use multiple cars in that event. Also, remember what I just said about being able to also win high valued cars in championship events just using B-Spec mode. The DTM championship for instance gives you a Mercedes CLK-LM that's over 800k credits. In which only takes 15-16 in-game minutes via B-Spec mode's 3x race speed up ability, once your DTM car and A.I. is fast enough; you can basically keep winning those doing just about nothing.

and most of the heavy grinding was just going for the race cars. If you just wanted to buy and upgrade something like a Lancer Evo VI, you just had to probably do any of those races I listed once.

and yeah, that's not the right kind of fun as you should be having fun engaging with the game. But my point is that I honestly don't see FM23 at the moment having its kind of grinding system being more fun than GT4 had it based on what I know.

FM2023 on the other hand, I think we're getting hung up a bit too much on the "2 hour per car" thing. You could be right about that, it could be less time consuming for all we know based on those aspects. Though when I heard that number, I assumed that was taking those factors in account.

But as you said:
Again, I dunno, there's no way to for sure, we could all be completely wrong.
So yeah, I'll wait for release and talk about it.

Isnt this car already confirmed on the car list?
  • 2020 Lynk & Co Cyan Racing 03
Yea, but it is the
„2020 Lynk & Co #62 Cyan Racing 03“ in game - so just a different livery, but still strange, since the video has the #100 in it

I guess that the racing team may asked for another car be featured or some thing like that, if is the same car i dont consider a missing

2022 CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept
I was anxious to play this car on motorsport, Unless Cupra will use it for some promo like they did with FH, i will miss this car a lot

Obviously the final list has yet to be revealed so this is very much a WIP. But some cars here would be baffling to cut IMO. Like some real Forza staples. Not the end of the world if they don't make it, but certainly very weird.

Yes, I believe so. I'll check if any of the other cars from that list have made it.

The "best car" for what?
The best car for S2 or X class road racing and some PR stunts.
You mean like the Nissan Tsuru, the most requested vehicle, which we still don't have?
We'll likely be receiving it in less than a month's time, which is great. Obviously not saying that we have it yet.

Just thought I'd keep a track of some cars not yet in FM2023 from FH5.
I think that they will add some cars in updates, they will follow Horizon style of add 6-8 cars by upgrade and other styles of upgrade such as new car parts

Update: Cars had been added to Website car list

We now have 488, considering that the final list has 520 (excluding the 10 Forza Edition cars) we have 32 cars left to be announced
Also, Do not forget that cars can be added/removed in the day 1 patch
