Might be a silly question, but is the builder's cup just for road cars?

Can't see how the Car Points and upgrade system would work for race cars - which are built to regs?

Well, it seems to have worked, but now I need to wait for it to unpack?

from ign review

"In the meantime, free play is still here – where you can do quick races in any of the 500 available cars – but again I’d really love some simple options to better curate what the AI drives against me. There are so many specific fields to edit to narrow down your opponent’s cars, but it’s all but impossible to get the 23 specific rival cars you want. Often it just ignores my custom settings entirely. Just let us place the AI in cars we choose, like Forza Motorsport 4 did."

It's not midnight yet in New Zealand. Even with daylight saving time there it's still 23:20 on the 4th ;)

Is it just me or that setting your device's region to Kiribati almost immediately crashes the game?

Yeah I'm getting the crash too. just after the turn 10 splash screen. Just updated drivers and restarted and it made no difference.

No crash for me (well, one when it was preloading shaders and I switched windows, but nothing since).

I am however getting... awful performance. 1440p on balanced DLSS, medium dynamic settings, averaging 50 fps in the benchmark. RTX 2070 Super, roughly comparable to a Series X isn't it? Why is it this bad?

Wow this is not a good sign, what CPU?

Running great on my 6700xt, 80fps most of the time, never dipping below 70 so far on far performance mode 3440x1440

Ryzen 5 3600, though that doesn't appear to the bottleneck. Strangely neither that nor the GPU are being maxed out at these settings. It's as if the game just isn't using all of the power available to it.

Drove the E-Ray race having adjusted to light assists on my controller (Sport TC mode is interesting and new).

Nice feeling of car weight when driving, no bizarre lift off oversteer. Indeed, feels like FH5 was used as the basis but with more steering accuracy, not FM7. Which is music to my fingertips. :D

Forza Motorsport poor PC performance overshadows launch

It's not looking great for PC players ahead of the racing sim's launch as poor performance is reported even on high-end gaming rigs.

Since when was mid 40s FPS unplayable for a racing game? I know we expect 60+ nowadays, but unplayable in the 40s?
