I'm under the impression that they touched up the graphics on Series X, as much of the softness of the graphics (in performance raytracing mode) is gone, and now the specular highlights do pop.

Also, the Giulia gauge cluster I complained about? They totally fixed it.

I don’t think we will see the IMSA variant of the 963 and I have a good reason. I believe Microsoft and Porsche could release a “Porsche Experience LeMans” update and it stems from the Porsche 75th anniversary Xbox Series Xs

Starting from left to right
Martini 917 LH already in the game and could see a spotlight discount

Next is the Porsche 911 GT1 which was last featured in Forza Motorsport 6

View attachment 1328335

Next we have the Porsche 917K which would be brand new to the series as a whole

View attachment 1328338

Next is kinda returning. We had the classic Porsche 935 in FM7 as DLC but this specific 935 is the iconic Moby Dick variant so would be a brand new livery

View attachment 1328340

Next up is a car we all can recognize. The Porsche 917/20 pink pig which made its debut in FH4 and Motorsport debut as a spotlight DLC in FM7. This car some unknown reason is one of many race cars in FH5 that have yet to make the leap into FM23View attachment 1328341

Lastly we get to what was a big talking point around LeMans 2023. An Xbox Series X themed around the 2023 Porsche #75 Penske Motorsport 963 LMDh. This car was entered as a one off entry into the Hypercar class as a third factory car to allow their IMSA drivers to race the great race. Unlike the sister cars it’s rear wing and shark fin were decked out with Penske red

So not only do all of these cars have Xbox’s but they also have meaning towards Porsches history with the great race. Hints have been right under our noses this whole time imo
I really hope you're right. These would be some great porsches to bring in and add to quite a few divisions.

I'm really confused now... I needed to reduce the "car livery quality" setting from Ultra to High on this PC because I was getting a memory warning otherwise, however starting a race against AI and using photo mode it seems like other player liveries are way less compressed and sharper now set to High than they were before the update set to Ultra.

As if they finally fixed a bug which was making AI car liveries look bad...

Is anyone else seeing improved drivatar livery quality after the update?

I did about 5 laps yesterday. This version has a better feeling of going up and down the hills.
I had some problems with seeing the corners coming due to lighting and shadows of trees under certain conditions.

Overall impression was that it was very difficult. Driving a clean lap is my first personal challenge since I was not able to do that yesterday.

After this update i managed to find this
View attachment 1328239
Related to IndyCar i guess?

DMC carbon not Delorean Motor Company

I also managed to find these on the text strings
  • Future Design Carbon
  • Karbel Carbon
  • Artwork Body Shop
  • Back to the Future??

Those listed on the text strings might also come to Horizon considering that Prior design and Maxton design was found first on FM text strings but currently the bodykits only available on FH5 albeit hidden (presumably saved for later update)
Upon seeing the Penske logo, I'm thinking that we may not only get parts from them but also cars. Past leaks for FH5 had these cars mentioned:
  • 1988 Penske PC17 Chevrolet
  • 1994 Penske PC23
  • 2013 Chevrolet #12 Penske Dallara DW12
So maybe we may get one of these cars added in Motorsport in the future.

Blech

It is ballsy to go for microtransactions especially when reputation is so far down in the dumps. They really will be completely disconnected from reality, if they go through with this.

I don't have a problem with them coming at this point, I've never spent a cent on micro-transactions in the past, the economy is well known right now, isn't particularly hard to get funds, so unless they re-jig the economy (that would be egregious), this doesn't bother me. This is a much different scenario than that other game which had a huge grind to get many cars, and all of a sudden micro-transactions were added and it was like, oh well that's why the economy sucks.

And, it's nothing new for the franchise. 7 was the first one they didn't sell credit tokens for.

personally, the economy is well balanced. I am not struggling for credits anyway, and won't be affected. But it is a bad look for the game and the team to be pulling this.

After doing some digging that 75th anniversary porsche xbox celebration was from last year June. Thats old news now so I dont think it would apply to this year. If anything those would have appeared in the game at launch back toward the end of the celebration which lasted 4 months.

You're not wrong, and I can't disagree about it being a bad look, but it's also a fair point that this sort of nonsense is pretty much industry standard nowadays and nothing really new for the franchise.

I agree about the game economy completely.

Does anybody happen to know which track this image was taken on? I'm attempting to do a comparison with how the game actually looks.

Remember that FH5 got paid car vouchers a few months ago. People complained about a bad impression there. Then they were added to the game as an optional way for those without grinding time to buy expensive cars from the autoshow instead of grinding for credits.

Nobody mentioned the vouchers again once they were added. We all just ignored them completely.

As long as FM23 vouchers are simply added to help those who don't want to grind to buy autoshow cars, nobody will care. It's not like paying for something which others can't have, after all.

P.S. After doing a bunch of races on PC, I am finding frame rates generally more stable and higher than before. I'm enjoying the lower class Open Series races a lot.

And conveniently, the car progression system is moving to one where Credits can buy CarXP. 👀
That was my very FIRST thought when they announced the CarXP change, especially as something similar was added to FH5 recently. Although I didnt think it would be added this early (I pictured this more for later in 2024 after the car pass ends), however we don't have confirmation if and when it is coming, so no need to think about it just yet.

I do think its inevitable at some point though. Although as mentioned above, with the VIP bump, I don't have any difficulty affording cars in the game as it is now.

@DextroCat that was in the patch notes as having been changed.

I think they changed Quick Race so if you pick the weather conditions they stick instead of going to random weather after the first race. I only did a handful of quick races so I’m not 100% sure if that’s the case but it certainly helps.
I think that's correct. I ran two races back to back last night and didn't have to make any changes to any selection.

Sorry for the slow response, but yeah it still works just the same.

When setting up the lobby, go to the "Cars" tab and set make and model to the one you want and confirm the settings. When it loads you in, it will take you to the car select screen and say something like "there are no cars available" and just push A on "Ok." Then just push the B button to back out of the empty car select screen, and you will see the car sitting in pit lane. As long as you change from one locked car to another, it should work fine. If you change to an available car sometimes it will screw up and you will have to remake the lobby, but usually you can get it going again by doing the above again.

It can be hard to tell which model is which for a few though, like the RS7 as both the 2013 and 2021 models are just called "RS 7 Sportback."

The TA Mustang, old RSR Porsche, and GT3 Caddy are nice. Surprisingly the Cayman GT4 RS is awful, understeers bad and reacts weird over bumps. The Audi RS7 is just as bad as you would expect, and the TT RS and 911 Turbo definitely exist.
How do you get around the requirement of "Not Enough Players" or do you test the cars out with a friend in your lobby?
