Forza Motorsport Update 11.0 Release Notes – August 12, 2024

Forza Motorsport Update 11, Road to Race, highlights incredibly powerful racing cars from a wide range of categories and classes alongside the return of the world-class road racing facility, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Host your own series at Road Atlanta using our spotlight car, the 2011 Ferrari #62 Risi Competizione 458 Italia GTC, or compete with one of our other 2 reward cars created specifically to blur the line between road and racecar: the 2018 Aston Martin #97 AMR Vantage GTE and 1998 Nissan #23 Pennzoil NISMO Skyline GT-R.
More action, greater skill, and new challenges await in Featured Multiplayer as Multi-Class Racing comes to Forza Motorsport alongside the return of the Endurance Series! Test your speed while reacting to changing circumstances, battle for position while encountering slower cars, and see how much time you can gain against faster classes.
Thanks to popular player demand, both the Endurance Series and Multi-Class Racing will remain in Forza Motorsport after Road to Race Month.

This will get us back down to earth...
To unlock the Aston Martin, you only have to drive 182 laps....

Does anyone else get annoyed every time they drive around this corner on Nordschleife? It's like it's a polygonal shape, with straight sections of kerb joined by a much smaller radius joint. It really affects the ability to spot the apex, as you have to apex at one of the joints, due to how it sticks out. Also, comparing to real life footage, you can clearly see that the cross sectional shape of the kerb is all wrong. They claimed they had updated the kerb accuracy, but the kerb on this particular corner seems the same to me as when the track was added to the game, and I just find it really annoying every time I drive it.

nord fm vs real.jpg

GT7, for example, doesn't have this same error, the kerb is a smoother curve like the real life footage shows.

There's quite a lot of other kerbs on the track that have this polygonal look to them, but they don't throw my judgement of the apex off in quite the same way, so I haven't checked them out against real life. I have checked some other polygonal looking kerb sections on Sebring and Atlanta against real life and those did seem to accurately reflect how the track is in real life.

As long as that new to game car isn't locked to buying batteries, I'm good. If it's only available by purchasing batteries, I'll be upset as will a lot of people I'm sure.

To me it seems like if you buy a pack of Duracell you will get the car free but if not then you might have to purchase the car on the marketplace for probably $2-$4...similar to the Porsche 963 situation.

Well, I for once will applaud the commitment they are demanding for this (as my 400 hrs of play can attest). It is akin to getting the 160-pts seasonal reward car in FH5, and 4-weeks should be enough time.

IMO, at this point, nearly a year after launch, you either are still playing FM or moved to something else, nothing wrong with that.

The 963 example was that it was free to the entire FM23 world, within a time frame.

If you're correct, it seems only a particular country can get it 'free' (a pack of Duracells) where the rest of the world has no choice?

A) assuming this is indeed it works, and
B) assuming a pack of Duracells is cheaper than marketplace

The last Duracell tie-in was free for everyone - The GTA Spano in FH3:

However Forza has often had specials associated with purchased tie-in items which are US only. Like the Oreo Pagani in FH5 for example.

As long as that new to game car isn't locked to buying batteries, I'm good. If it's only available by purchasing batteries, I'll be upset as will a lot of people I'm sure.
This is kind of why I tossed around the idea of something like classic IndyCars. The cars can be added to the game so most players don't miss out, but Duracell buyers would be rewarded with a special Duracell livery.
Granted, I'm likely 100% wrong....

So what is this mystery car that is coming which requires you to purchase a pack of Duracell batteries? McMurtry Spierling, perhaps? 😋

It still amazes me that the devs in T10 must all think that were are all youtubers or something or just don't have anything else to do in life rather than play FM 24/7!!

They must think: "OK, so let's make an Open Tour with 18 races with almost 10 laps each! That will be a peach to do!!"

Meanwhile the causal player (such as myself) gets home from work, ignores completely the family and house chores and says: "OK, no one dare to bother me, I will be playing FM until dawn to get all these races done and win a recycled car!!!"

No wonder the player base is getting lower and lower...

Sorry for the small rant, just got a bit frustated... Hope no one gets offended... :)

Yeah, I really want the Aston, so I'm happy that my staycation/mental break from work coincides with the release. Really need the digital version to go with my 1/43 model.

I only just finished the Nemesis tour over the last few days and there's still no countdown. So think it's best to clear the open event series first.

My guess on the Duracell car is it's simply an already in-game car with a livery.
According to the link it's a "new-to-game car.." so doubt they would just slap a livery on an "in-game" car and call it good. Most of me thinks it's an LMDH because batteries...why not and cars like that might be better being served with a promotion probably. But someone brought up a newer Williams F1 car with a Duracell livery which could make sense too. I guess we wait for another leak or wait a couple months to find out

I have a strange relationship with this game.

Not happy with the very bare bones career mode (and so many other things) but the car pass was really strong in my eyes. Tried it and not happy with so much missing from the game at release. And not to mention drip feeding us tracks that were in the last game which should have been in the game from day one. But I'm loving the race cars that they are adding. So i'm currently downloading it for the fourth time now that the Pennzoil R33 and Aston Martin have dropped.

I still play FM3/4 and seeing the Pennzoil car appear makes me wish that they would throw in the Supra and NSX too. That would be very popular with the player base. FM3/4 had their own Super GT career series which was a lot of fun. It actually felt like you were competing in JGTC with the three makes all battling on track at the same time.

I was thinking a few of these things too with the new cars they just added with this update. It's really good to see the Aston which basically completes the mid-late 2010s GT cars roster for IMSA at least, now if they add some more modern GT cars from the 2020s eventually and bring back some of the early 2010s GT2 cars from past forzas that would be great. Then seeing the Pennzoil R33 is promising because I'm sure they will add the NSX and Supra JGTC cars and hopefully even the Chrysler Viper and Mclaren F1 from the same era down the road, why have the Skyline by itself. I do hope they bring a few Japanese tracks back though such as Twin Ring Motegi and Tsukuba for the true JGTC factor.

If all the events they've added over the past year or so weren't time limited, this game would have a very impressive single player mode. I get it, I get why they're time limited, but I feel like they're going for short term small wins over a longer term gain. Especially with how poorly the game was received on release, if the career events they were adding permanent, the game would just building and building on momentum. Those who do play each monthly series, I feel are the same people, the people who will play it anyway, whereas if they had added these events permanently, those who left the game at release could comeback to basically a whole new games worth of content. They'd be like a fresh new player entirely. To me that'd more successfully build the player base and create goodwill in the broader motorsport game community, especially if they're wanting this game to survive for years. I just don't see how having the the currently small base be the only ones coming back to the game each month will do that.

Forza appears to have had some sort of special opportunity when it comes to adding Nissan’s retro racing cars. So the addition of a JGTC GT-R might not necessarily hint at bigger plans involving JGTC cars from Honda and Toyota.

Good points - and if I might add to this, the FOMO events are all I play. I simply don't have the time to complete them AND the career events.

I'm a bit disappointed at the sound of the C7.R race car. I was expecting more of a rumble instead of a shop vac sort of sound.

Also I don't like the looks of the extra light fixtures on the inside at turn 10a at Road Atlanta.

Can anyone tell me the method of driving reward cars before they’re actually released? I believe there’s a glitch in free play that allows you to do this.
