FM2023 getting NASCAR while FH5 gets four 992s. I'm not gonna lie, that is both hilarious and disappointing at the same time--FM2023 gets oval track racing, FH5 gets GT racers.
I could argue that FH5 has more players around the world and most FM players are in the U.S., and there are few things more American than NASCAR. Also, it seems it's a conscious choice to keep the games' identities as separate as they can be, with FM increasingly tilting to the sim side of the "simcade" formula. And next comes Bathurst and Australian cars.

Those 992s will be 100% making their way to FM down the line. However, I don't see FH getting these NASCARs.

Speaking of NASCARs:

I get why FM2023 is doing a NASCAR month now, at least--the 2024 season ends next Sunday and so it makes sense to drop the 2024 season's cars right around now. I just think, the opportunity was there to do something Forza-wide, and they chose to pursue a five-week long NASCAR month instead.

I mean, FH5's also bringing back the Oval Track at the same time so there's synergy there, I guess, but at this point it just sounds like a big ol' coincidence.

-Players are now able to move AI Drivatars from one group to another and resort the grid. [1849430]

-Fixed an issue on Mugello and other tracks where hitting curbs could cause sporadic, uncontrollable spins. This would occasionally occur when one or more tires rapidly accelerated or decelerated while unloaded during cornering.

-Fixed a bug where tire wear was not correctly affecting grip of Drivatar AI opponents in races. [1820786]

-Improved Drivatar AI pitting logic, especially in Endurance Races. [1820786, 1884711]

These plus other AI improvements are interesting to me. Resorting the grid is also a huge one for Free Play. Hopefully now we can do start from the back, and split cars up on grid. I really dislike when 3-4 of the same car are diminished to the back of the pack never to be seen when they are quite capable cars.

Seems like a missed opportunity to make this car the headliner, it's American and nascar affiliated too which is odd. Wouldn't seem like it would be too hard to license but perhaps Garage56 is strict with access to this beast.

The focus seems to be on oval racing and Trans-Am specifically. Sure there's a few endurance cars on that list like the Greenwood Corvette, but other than that I see a couple cars meant for the 24 Hours at Daytona, which is half-oval. The Garage56 Camaro only participated at Le Mans.

Ok, I have 2 days to complete the Open Tour for the T/A Mustang, lol.
Interesting that the new Featured Tour starts at the same time the last series for the current one becomes available. Has that happened before?

Just gave the new update a spin and tried all the new cars plus the updated car sounds:

The Hennessey Exorcist probably sounds the best of them all. Great V8 growl combined with the supercharger whine. No complaints there

The Lamborghini Lp670 sounds a lot more accurate then before. It has that classic v12 wail but to me it still sounds a touch off. Almost like they recorded one with aftermarket exhaust work. The Sian sounds great even though it sounds like a blend of the Lp670 and an Aventador.

The McLaren P1s engine note sounds fine but there is a distinct lack of turbo noise that the real car has. I wonder if it's plagued by the no turbo sound bug some cars have since last update.

The Beretta trans-am sounds like a typical large engine v6 with an open exhaust similar to the Regal trans-am, sounds good though.

The P2 Mazda from FM7 sounds excellent and even has a turbo noises when accelerating.

And the Nascars sound like I figured they would. High revving race tuned V8's, accurate sounding.

Other things I noticed is it seems like reflections are a lot more clear and shiny especially on the car while racing. Damage also looks a bit more realistic whereas before if I smacked into a tire barrier there was nothing on my car. Now theres spotty paint chips and scuffs from hitting a tire barrier which is great little details added.

First, no more Let's Go streams. Now, no more trailers?
Yep

I think it was confirmed on one of the forza forums threads. They are sadly scaling down on that type of content.

They said something along the lines of the overhead for making these was very high, and it was basically only viewed by a small group of dedicated fans.

That certainly explains why Back to the '90s got only a 30 second spot, basically. Sure PG got to have some fun with it, but more folks tend to just read update notes or watch the streams, if they exist.

Racing drivers get replaced all the time for not winning. No team is keeping the bottom of the barrel for the long term. This is a game. This isn't the real world. This is a game like any other game you play. The idea is to progress. Not finish last on the easiest settings so you can win your car. Also one of the reasons why FM isn't doing so hot, the monotonous career that has no sense of progression and is a purgatory of races that in the end, you have accomplished nothing. Gran Turismo you have to win. You have to pass licenses to progress (let's not get into 7, that's kindof a mess with licenses). It's about being able to show or be proud that I golded all this crap. You have to win races to get prize cars. You have to win Missions to get prize cars.

Where along the line did anyone think, "let's not do any of that", and that was the right decision? I can understand people with disabilities. And the game caters to that wonderfully. We've all seen that. However how has the common denominator for the whole game been brought down to people who would be struggling with disabilities in the first place? I fail to see how it's ridiculous to have to place in a podium finish in a championship to progress. Even with the different AI difficulty levels. There is next to no replay value for any of these career championships whatsoever. There might be if I placed 4th and I needed to be 3rd or higher.

I've played racing games since GT1, been through all the hardest licence tests and can often pick up a racing game and get into the top or near top brackets online pretty quickly. I'm not bragging, I'm no alien, but I'm not slow either.

2 months ago I had a head surgery, in recovery I decided to play some games because I was off work, if I played anything too intense my head would throb and swell so I had to take it easy. As a result I ended up playing with the difficulty turned down and just enjoying the simple act of racing even if I didn't win, and I wasn't locked out of rewards other than getting less credits and XP for my lower finishing place.

As you say its a game, not the real world, it doesn't affect you that I was able to relax a bit and get my reward car, you still ended up with XX amount more credits and XP, you were still able to beat unbeatable difficulty drivers with all assists off while I played on baby-mode difficulty and ABS on.

I'm mostly back up to speed now but I can appreciate the game caters to all levels, its Forza, don't take it so seriously, go to iRacing if you need that sweaty authentic experience.

I don't think it was a coincidence that the big night/light update happened the same month as we got the "spooky" challenge and a ton of night races in the Open/Featured Tour, having had very few night races appear previously.

Which reminds me...
Public Service Announcement: As this is only a "3 week month" if you want the Open Tour Trans Am you have to finish it up before next Thursday. The Mustang multiplayer races end then too.

Although the last race of the Mustang Tour doesn't unlock till this Thursday, from what I've read I -think- the next update is this week and possibly the first week of the new tour arrives on Thursday as well.

Judging by the "roadmap" blogpost and the occasional hints elsewhere, I think the next update is due to be another major one.

Ok, I have 2 days to complete the Open Tour for the T/A Mustang, lol.

You was warned (see my post above) ;)
And no, it hasn't happened before.
Imagine if there was something written on a board in the photo bay that shows upcoming content and you or someone else uncovers it in this manner 🤣😂
This could be the Motorsport equivalent of Torben Tuesday

Here's the Nascar trailer as uploaded by TurnLeft, sorry Turn10 ;)

I know the agency they use for them, we used them for EA stuff too.

Very high quality work but not cheap. You get what you pay for though, no complaints.

Video, especially long-form and high quality streamed video, is a bit of a money pit. We’re not in 2020/2021 where the world accepted brands doing it with a glorified Zoom call, the quality standards have risen.

3+ years out from launch, I reckon Horizon gets as much bang for buck now from blog posts and screenshots as they would video. Hoki Hoshi can sum up the content in a 5 minute video anyway and that’s good enough for me 😁

By all accounts a bug, but one of the funniest ones I've seen, you can now step outside the showroom/garage and take pictures!

And it seems the location is the San Fernando Valley in California and the local time is 8:00 A.M.

Wait, are those the cars of the update???

Where are the photos of the new NASCAR cars located? Are they visible with the normal showroom views? I can't believe that they would be up there and not visible without using this new "bug"?
