It is amazing how you managed to decide all this based on a cinematic trailer. The home screen looks totally different, PI system has been in place since Forza Motorsport 1, PI system also didn't decide classes in FM7, car class did (was ruined by homologation, not PI, no sign of homologation from what I saw in the trailer), pre-race cinematic wasn't really shown, the grid overview bit was new if thayt is part of it anyway, haven't seen enough of the upgrade options to tell how much is new but there were clearly more options (only so much you can do to cars anyway).

Tuesday will show us more, hopefully in terms of actual gameplay. Then you'll have the real answers.

When exactly did Forza get rid of race settings?

Can anyone shed some light on when this happened because apparently it did at some point.

You're probably right and i really hope i'm wrong.

The PI system and car class go hand in hand. They messed up homologation and as you mentioned there was no sign of it in the trailer.

So if it's just based on car class then there's nothing to stop someone taking a mini, or similar, and moving it into S class, without changing the brakes or tyres from stock

That's my point, it ruins races. Missile cars have been a problem for years. I just hope they've done something to prevent it and i assumed, rightly or wrongly, that they would scrap the whole PI system.

Offline, go for it but online it shouldn't be an option

I'm very VERY glad to hear that mod cards are gone. Q&A sounds a bit balls as it always is with freshly unveiled forza games, kinda sick of hearing these phrases at this point.

Compete the podium in Featured Multiplayer* events with a race weekend inspired structure or create the racing you and your friends desire in Free Play. Online racing is safer, more fun and more competitive with AI-powered Forza Race Regulations, tire and fuel strategy, and new driver and safety ratings.
Really hope the Free Play options have been improved and are available for offline users too.

RACE DAY CAR PACK

Race Day Car Pack features 8, new-to-Forza cars built exclusively for the racetrack including high-performance machines like the 2018 Acura #36 Gradient Racing NSX GT3 and the 2017 Vauxhall #66 Power Maxed TAG Racing Astra. Collect, build and race these powerful track legends of motorsport from day one.

Q: What content is included in the various Forza Motorsport add-on packs?

A: Players can expand their Forza Motorsport experience with the following add-on packs, all of which are included in the Premium Edition and Premium Add-Ons Bundle or can be purchased separately:

  • Race Day Car Pack features 8, new-to-Forza cars built exclusively for the racetrack to collect, build and race from day one.
  • Car Pass delivers 30, new-to-Forza cars to your game weekly, one per week. Car Pass content is available as released.
  • VIP Membership provides a permanent 2x boost to base credits, 5 exclusive Forza Edition cars, exclusive VIP Driver Gear with 5 colorways to choose from, VIP Player Card, VIP Crown Flair, and more.
  • Welcome Pack jumpstarts your career with 5 immediate car unlocks and bonus credits that you can use towards purchasing the car of your dreams.
Car Pass only being 30 cars is a bummer. Hopefully we'll see a Car Pass 2 or a strong presence of free cars in updates like FH5.

Q: Does Forza Motorsport feature any new visual customization options?

A: As shown during the trailer, Forza Motorsport will feature some new aero choices for bumpers and spoilers, as well as new rims, combined with some existing aero and body kit options from previous titles. The selection of parts available to fit will vary on a per car basis.
Very interesting wording. Not outright confirming new aero on every car but maybe some? Not very hopeful of seeing redesigned Forza Aero like myself and many others were hoping.

I do wish that we see all of the Body Kits and Rims introduced in FH5 carry over to FM2023 though.
Q: Does Forza Motorsport feature any new types of performance upgrades?

A: We’ve introduced a ballast adjustment. Once fitted, this part can be adjusted in levels with each adding 100lbs of weight to the car.
Very nice! About time Forza got some sort of Ballast option!

So we can expect the rest of that car pack to be the deleted ones from a few months back?

Am I out of the loop, or is "Eaglerock Speedway" a new thing?

Wow, no Nurburgring? A modern racing game without the Nordschleife feels weird. Kinda sad to lose Sonoma and Lime Rock, but oh well. Looking forward to Mid-Ohio and Kyalami however.

I believe the list is only for the tracks shown in the new trailer and articles. The Nurburgring was shown in the previous trailer already

Curious about the "car builder" emphasis in the career mode -- it's always been a major part of Forza but treating it like a big talking point for singleplayer career seems like it might take some minor but noticeable new forms. No idea what that could be aside from a focus on events that go beyond PI limits to encompass different kinds of entry parameters (max HP; power/weight ratio) or a more granular unlock-based, sponsorship-driven, or affinity-bonus tweak to the upgrade system. I'm not holding my breath for the kinds of interior-stripping, widebody kit-fitting transformations that turn road cars into race cars instead of the simplistic Forza aero + rollcage stuff, but hey, who knows.

You will unlock different tuning parts based on your "Car Level" (Seen on top of the Tuning Screen). You are put into an event and will fight your way up the ranks by tuning your car.

This sounds awesome actually, especially if you start off with a pretty slow car.
I'm hoping that upgrade parts aren't locked behind wheelspins or something.
There are no lootboxes. Seems there will be upgrades locked behind progression.

Q: Does Forza Motorsport feature an animated pit crew as shown in the trailer?

A: Pit crews primarily show up in our Featured Multiplayer mode – stay tuned for more info when we talk about pitting and Featured Multiplayer later this summer
No animated pit crew in single player mode?

Has there been any info released about Wheel users or changes that relate to wheels? I was hoping to hear something about that and not just another game aimed at the controller.
They're being very cagey about wheels in the Q&A. Hopefully more info on Tuesday.

I would assume it's there. They already went down this road in FM5, iirc.

  • New career championships and online events will be regularly introduced offering unique challenges, incredible new cars and tracks, and exciting new gameplay experiences for years to come.
Reading this is interesting. It leads me to believe we won’t go back to receiving a new Forza every two years, but rather an ever evolving game where we will buy expansions over time.

Where exactly? I'm trying to find it, but I don't see it.
What are you trying to find? The source of the track list or the Nurburgring?

The car and track list from this news cycle can be found here:

The Nurbugring was shown in this trailer at 5:53 (albeit with the cars driving in the wrong direction)

Curiously, they didn't list the Nurburgring as a track shown in the trailer as seen in the accompanying news article

For those curious to know which environments are seen in the video, we have you covered with the below list. We’ll have even more track locations to announce as we get closer to launch; stay tuned!
  • Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
  • Hakone
  • Kyalami
  • Laguna Seca
  • Maple Valley
  • Silverstone Circuit
  • Suzuka Circuit
