Looks nice, but I'm really not seeing why this needed 6 years of development time, no crazy new features, same old car models, a slim track list. This should've been there at launch for Series X/S. Guess they wanted to take a break to reignite public interest, but I don't think it's working, there's barely any buzz online, a few thousand views on the trailer, doesn't look good for the bottom line.

What kind of rubs me the wrong way is all the radio silence, barely telling us anything, and then expecting us to want to pre-order the game? Atleast this time we're only waiting two more days for some possible info.

I'm kind of worried about the 'over 500 cars' statement, as a reminder FM7 had 875 cars in total after its lifecycle, so even after removing Alfa Romeo/Fiat/Abarth/Lancia (I'm not optimistic at those coming back...) 'only' 33 are lost.

So let's say the final amount it's 550 for example, and again we account for the lost Italian content, it means that about 300 cars are gone, which is a crazy amount of lost content, so hopefully over 500 doesn't imply the car count doesn't reach 600...
Much like FH5, we are going to see some severe cuts. It is what it is at this point.

Could there be more? Yes probably.

Would I like more? Yes, definitely

Is 500+ enough for launch for this type of game? I think so.

I think the biggest issue will be that there'll be a lack of New-to-Forza cars in general, as I think Horizon has been poaching a lot of the road going cars for FM 2023.

The only hope for a lot of it coming back is that this is a "live service" title. If they add cars at the same rate as Forza Horizon (around 70-90 per year), we could see us getting back to 600+ pretty quickly.

For example;

  • 500 cars at launch
  • 30 cars in the car pass
  • 8 cars in the launch car pack
  • 70 cars in year 1 content (ish)

So after a year we'd already be back at 600, Year 2 who knows.

The track list should be of more concern IMO.

If they can only add say 3 environments a year, we might not get to FM7's number of environments until..... 2027. Yikes.

So... more views than the Starfield Official Gameplay trailer, Like a Dragon reveal trailer, Hellblade II trailer, Cyberpunk Trailer, Metaphor trailer, and almost as many views as the Star Wars trailer....

Yep... just those few "thousand" views.

I think the biggest offence is that initially after FM7 shipped they claimed that this Forza was gonna be built with community feedback and interaction in mind, having public discussions and back and forth communication via reddit and other resources, but then they quickly swept that claim under the rug and went radio silent for years. What a joke.

Bottom line?

Guess I was looking in the wrong place, my bad. Actually the surprise is that Yakuza is getting this much attention, they really moved up in the world during the 8th gen.

I actually... completely 100% agree with this.

I have found the reach out to the Forza community abysmal for how they stated they wanted to handle the development of this game. I get that they had a NDA program but it was a lottery to get into it, which ignores many voices in the community. They have also been super quiet on any information about the game and its new systems.

Like a dragon is a great game, I'm glad to see it doing well.

Them putting all the games on Game Pass definitely helped with introducing the series to the Xbox crowd too.

Outside Starfield looking like it'll be the best game ever (please don't let me down Bethesda, lol what am I saying it'll be a turd at launch) none of the other games actually showed any gameplay...

I have participated in a few surveys sent by T10, but all of them were random rubbish like would you buy the game or play it on gamepass, what UI elements should be on-screen, some accessibility options, whatever. Nothing to do with the actual meat of the game, the structure, the complaints. I wish they went more out there in terms of features, like maybe some rally stages, team management, bikes, etc. Something new and exciting. Time and Weather changes are nice, but that's just catching up to what all other racers are doing, FM was the last series on the market to still use baked shadows from PS2 era. But even besides all that the biggest concern is the limited track list, even Forza 7 with 32 tracks was getting a bit old, but 20 tracks while GT7 has 37 is rough.

I'm hoping more info comes on Tuesday about non-career related, single player gameplay. I am glad to see VIR made the track list. Now I just need to see Road Atlanta make it also.

There was confirmation last year that they had several youtubers play the game and that TORA had a lot of involvement in the online racing. Plus to my knowledge, this is the only forza game that has had a beta test running, let alone for 3 years. They've had internal studio tests, tests from other xbox studios, forza panel members, FRC drivers, TORA, youtubers and even outsourced beta testing. Plus they have the forza forums for inputs from the major community.

If they tried something that was out there, it would 100% be called a waste of time. Most of the complaints would be "just make a modern FM4, is that so hard to do" "why waste time doing something that no one asked for" "forza was never about rally/bikes/team management, leave that to dirt/ride/motorsport manager". If they don't do something "out there" they get called out for not innovating. There is no winning. They will just have to pick between demands. Hell, they're getting lambasted already for making a race engineer radio.

They are still innovating tho. This is the only racing game out there with RTGI to my knowledge, even in gameplay.

I do agree that the track listt will be the element that they will need to repopulate quickly.

You will unlock different tuning parts based on your "Car Level" (Seen on top of the Tuning Screen). You are put into an event and will fight your way up the ranks by tuning your car.
Where did you hear/see this?

This would be very interesting idea. Especially if most (or all) upgrades are locked in each car the beginning of the game (and are tied to your individual car level)

That way, you can't just go in a max a car from the get go. You actually have to drive it and level it up first.

This would line up with Esaki's comments about the single player, these phrases coming up a lot - "Car building campaign" and "built not bought"

I feel like this is how they've been since FM5's disastrous launch, even back then when Dan was asked about FM5's future he gave a generic "I can't discuss that right now" similar to what we get these days.

But anyways before I go on too much of a rant, I'm looking forward to seeing the career mode, just glad to finally be getting info about the game.

Genuine question, do you even play forza or are you only here to pray for it's downfall under the guise of 'objective fan concerns'? frankly, the straight up propaganda posts on easily verifiable things like trailer views and crazy new features is eyeroll inducing

Avowed is gameplay and Fable is gameplay.

I honestly want to purchase an Xbox Series X for this game because I don't think my computer could handle it.

This say people that have zero clue about the scale and complexity of game development nowadays.
Seems like a flimsy excuse, I can understand 6 years for a game like RDR2 where every asset is brand new and the game has incredibly complex systems working together, each mission is hand crafted with incredible scenarios and production values, tons of mocap and voiceover work and just the general polish. But for a game like Forza it's mostly a refinement of previous work, the cars and tracks are carried over with improvements here and there, physics, well somehow a small studio like Kunos with 20 employees and 1 person programming the physics is able to beat all the big dogs, time of day/weather systems were already in the engine since Horizon1/2, Xbox One just couldn't run it at 60 fps.

Yeah, I play some.

My favorite T10 survey, that I received 3 different times, was asking which athletes I follow on Twitter or other social media. Really asking the important questions.

I don't think I've ever had a T10 survey about gameplay, the closest it got was accessibility stuff like control layouts and font sizes.

Really hope the Free Play options have been improved and are available for offline users too.
Also hoping it features custom grids like in GT7 and Assetto Corsa. Not to mention every car being available as rental cars, as well as the ability to choose between car-specific colors and to do default car-specific setup tuning.

I really hope they have longer races, something where you can build a rhythm and plan overtakes, rather than just the regular 3 lap 'dash for the cash' events which we've always had.

For those who want longer races, give us the option and reward us for putting the extra track time in.

I still haven't forgiven them for how shocking the Porsche GT2 felt in the very first event they threw you in, with FM7 lol. That was your shot to leave a brilliant first impression and you blew it. Hoping they've learned this time around...

There was already an option in FM7 for longer races.

I kind of like the idea if you have to progress with the car to unlock parts, and hopefully they do the route where you need to begin with slower car and work your way up thats the progression system i would enjoy, but thats proably revealed a bit tomorrow

I am so curious about Eagle Rock, also i am curious if they will bring back Sunset Pennisula and Sedona in future updates

I'm so happy to see that there are no tire walls on the tracks
The idea was to remove in future FM7 updates anyways, it was just a temporary fix until they manege to get the punishment system

Actually the surprise is that Yakuza is getting this much attention

GamePass helped Yakuza get even more popular

I like what I'm seeing from some posts like Voidhawk66's! I really, really hope it'll be a good game. My favorite Forza Motorsports are: 4 is my favorite, 2 is a blast, 3 is really good, 1 is pretty good (but hoo boy the AI was tough for me back then!!), 6 is pretty good too I did a huge part of the single player career, 7 doubles as a highly customizable event editor in the Free Play mode and 5 is a big ker-plunk.

PS: These are just my opinions.
