So far we can only see the graphics, and we won't know how it feels on a wheel (hopefully competitive). From all the talk about physics and feel for the last 4 years, it seems they really want an intuitive feeling sim with all the bells and whistles of a AAA game.
i feel like arguing about how bad it handles should be saved till we get out hands on it.

On the other hand we can compare how far the graphics have come. I know people hate talking about graphics, because they think it detracts from a sim, but i disagree because it needs to be immersive. MS aren't doing VR for now, so it has to look good on a standard display. I know a lot of people still play PC2 on VR for an amazing experience too.

Yes their is others, never claimed it was not the case, but the combo with car roster thats on offer is completly different, games like project cars have road cars yes but not as many or different kinds
Yes you did, I literally quoted you saying so...

"their is no other racing track game that even come close to what both gran turismo and forza motorsport offers"

...and it's not as if you are even ambiguous about it either. 'No other' is quite clear, and all you have done since is move the goalposts.

I still stand with that, what i meant was their currently no track racer that aim with such a big car list and at the same time offers upgrade cars tune e.t.c, i was not specific in what regard forza motorsport and gran turismo offer campared to other titles,

Then you would still be wrong, as...
what i meant was their currently no track racer that aim with such a big car list and at the same time offers upgrade cars tune e.t.c,
...this is not what you said, hence you needed to move the goalposts.
i was not specific in what regard forza motorsport and gran turismo offer campared to other titles,
Exactly, you were not specific and as such made an inaccurate claim, which is why when that was highlighted you needed to move the goalposts.

Quite why it's taken this long for you to acknowledge that is, frankly, bizarre. When all you needed to do was say something along the lines of 'my bad, what I meant to say was..."

I think his focus was on console base.

On console the selection ofcourse is not as huge as on PC and mods normally not working because of sandbox envoronment.

There, the first party race track racers are a good deal and over a longer lifetime.

Games like Projekt Cars often get after nearly 1 year end of life and are on the paper dead.

As would be mine if it were not for the fact that Forza title have been on PC for quite a while and the reboot will be on PC from day 1, as such discounting PC as a platform makes zero sense.

None of which were part of the original claim, I don't reply to posts based on what they 'might mean', I reply to them based on what they actually say.

Oh and sandbox environment's have nothing to do with a lack of mods on console titles, that's down to the platform holders (Sony and MS) not the nature of the title.

I'm hoping T10 will bring some more wheel options to the table with this game, there are so many that are missing from past games that would be great to be included. Past that, why not offer the option of using stock wheels from other vehicles? Even just ones from within the same brand/sibling brands would be nice.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Forza Motorsport: Everything We Know So Far

It’s been a long time in the making, but it’s official: Forza Motorsport has a targeted release window of Spring 2023. After years of anticipation, Turn 10 gave us our first look at the game in action on the Xbox Series consoles for the first time...

Looking forward too this on pc after the big dissapointment that's been GT7. bit wary of the car sounds , see the 787b but not sounding good at all.

As ever I'll look forward to this.

Regarding visuals, I looks excellent, it will benefit from nit having to support the older consoles so I expect this to be a very refined visual experience, the fact we can expect 4k60 with RT on during gameplay is the biggest indicator of this. Should be quite something.

I don't feel comparison screenshots are needed to determine whether it's got the right colour palette, I have eyes and neither GT not Forza nail real life colour. Everyone sees things a little bit differently, even photography isn't perfect with regards to different photographers colour balance etc. My first impressions are Forza looks a bit more alive, slightly more dynamism to its environment. Gran Turismo can have this but only on certain circuits, there is a tendency for environments to feel stale (Sainte Croix I'm looking at you). Kaz has always said Gran Turismo is his vision of a perfect world so it is meant to be clinical and clean and precise. Forza has always felt a bit more lived in.

Can't comment on physics but it sounds pretty promising so far. If the tyre model has advanced by as much as they claim and that translates to player feel and actual driving physics ((let's not forget, PC3 has a very good underlying tyre model, you just wouldn't know it). I enjoy Forza Motorsport physics from the past, I prefer the tyre and braking physics in Forza over Gran Turismo personally. But until we get hands on its all just words.

Seen a few comments on AI as well, this is something I've said in the GT7 forum as well, Forza drivatars aren't perfect, but I'd take them over Gran Turismos nobots any day of the week.

As for things I'd like to see them change/add? The Homologation system from FM7 needs to be ditched, it didn't serve the purpose it should have, it should have acted like a balance of performance system like GT, but all it did was force slow cars to the top of whatever class (touring cars for example, it just made the BTCC cars go to the top of S to compete with the MR Swedish touring cars and it ruined how they drove). They either need to do BoP properly, or, my preference, keep different series cars separate. If we have WTCC, BTCC and STCC cars, give them their own championships, you can triple the playing content and keep the cars relevent. There was a lot of talk of a refocus on the Motorsport aspect so hopefully they make the racing series' in career mode realistic and preferably without having to upgrade the cars.

Online needs work, I know there are some significant changes coming to online which will be familiar to players of GT Sport or iRacing so that's a good step, but they need to nail the formula for how the races are curated and again, like with single player, ditch the Homologation crap and keep the series' realistic. Also I hope they do better with rivals, keep more events changing in and keep it fresh, FM7 didn't seem to give much love to the rivals events outside of the VIP or the 2/3 they cycled elsewhere. Drift, autocross, focussed events really didn't get any love.

This was by far the biggest flop for FM7. It's what ruined the game from the get go. They lost so many good players to other games, and by the time they changed it back to open class lobby's, it was too late.

I think the FRR lobby's were a huge step forward. It wasn't perfect, but I think it's better than what GT7 currently has. I'm not a fan of the "slow down" method after a penalty. Too many times people get too aggressive after losing position. Not to mention they are now going slower.

Nonsense about the color palette and car polygons aside, all I'm really hoping for is a solid singleplayer experience. Whether that's structured like Forza Motorsport 3, or Project CARS 2, or the F1 games, I don't really care. All of them can be fun if done right. That's what I'm looking for: fun.

At the time of release it will have been more than 5 years since the last Forza Motorsport game released. They were already capable of building decent singleplayer experiences within 2 years, so let's see what they can do in 5.

It'll be interesting to see the details as they're given in Forza Monthly and elsewhere.
Ohhh I will love to have career structure like FM3 or even PCARS 2. The calendar-based progression was the best imo, and hope T10 can adapt to that again, while adding features like managing your team, cars and garage, and so forth. Anything to make it feel more like motorsport, alive and fun. In other words, I want it to work my way up from driving hot hatches to LMP racecars just like back then from FM3 and FM4. I want that type of progression again and the ability to unlock new cars as I level up.

Speaking of leveling up, can we have car affinity levels again, as well as manufacturer bonuses from FM1 T10?

The cool thing is that FM will be on PC, so if people don't like it they can just use Reshade. A week after release there will be a bunch of presets to get the colour profile looking like whatever you want, including GT if that's your jam.

I'm sure people will complain about it anyway, but the colour grade is a legitimate artistic choice. Screens simply don't match reality, and so artistic choices need to be made. If people don't like it then fine, but it's not because it's "wrong". You can definitely do colour grading wrong, but it doesn't look like what we're seeing.

Problem with comparison screens from FM7 is that you can not set a specific time of day/weather. Its random every time you load a track.
Another reason why I'm super happy that we'll finally be able to select our own time of day and weather. Although some said "but other racing games had all this already", the thing is, it's brand new to Forza in general, because it never had such a function since, well since FM6. The closest we had with it was FM7, but just like you said, it was all random, which was very disappointing.

They better get rid of the stupid clown racing suits that ruined immersion.
Whoa!! I mean, I'm not disagreeing. :P A livery editor for the racing suits would be much appreciated. If not that, than regular racing suits with different designs can work too (even as unlockables). Let's keep it somple without those party-themed outfits we've had in FM7. ;)

There’s also 3 different ways to take pics in FM7 to get completely different results. XB1, XB1X and PC.

The difference is night and day in those images already. I think T10 confirmed that ALL the tracks been remodeled from the ground up, which is why they look more closer to real life. Grrr I can not wait for this game as it looks more natural compared to FM7. A reboot was well needed after all. 😀
Shame that Spa has undergone a large remodeling in real life. Not expecting it, but would be nice if T10 considered going back out & redoing it as an update.

Which was pretty awful because it was clear certain tracks had different times of day available. I think it takes me about 3-6 times to reload Sebring where it's bright mid-day.

If the music during the gameplay demo is representative of the in game music, I'll be a happy man.
Also choosing JAY-Z's PSA as the song for the unveil trailer felt badass, especially when it starts with 'Allow me to re-introduce myself' because it is a reboot. Let's hope this game ends up good. They seem confident about it too.
